THE BOOK OF ZEPHANIAH

The Bible from genesis to revelation reveals only one glorious individual. 

That person is our Lord and Savior.

John 5:39
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

TODAY, WE WANT TO STUDY WHAT THE BOOK OF   ZEPHANIAH   REVEALS ABOUT OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.  

HE  IS REVEALED AS THE RIGHTEOUS JUDGE.

The bible from the book of Zephaniah reveals our Lord JESUS CHRIST as the Righteous Judge.

Zeph 3:8.  Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the Lord,  until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy. 

The judgement here was a prophecy of the last days, when every sinner from the days of Adam to the last person shall gather before the white throne and receive due recompense for there deeds on earth.

Revelation  20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.  20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.  20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.  20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.  20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

HOW DO WE KNOW WHO WILL SIT TO JUDGE?

Matthew 25:31-33
” When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.”

John 5:22.
For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: 

 Acts  10:39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:  10:40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;  10:41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.  10:42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.

Acts  17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:  17:31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

1.  JUDGEMENT OF  RIGHTEOUSNESS BY  THE SON OF MAN.

2. JUSTICE FOR REDEEMED SAINTS.

3. JUDGEMENT FOR REJECTED SINNERS.

JUDGEMENT  OF  RIGHTEOUSNESS BY THE SON OF MAN.

 JESUS CHRIST, the Son of Man , will sit down on the white throne judgement at the end of time to judge the entire world in righteousness.

However, when our Lord sits to judge at the end of time, only sinners right from the days of Adam will be there.

Rom 2:5.

  But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; 

Romans 2:16. 
In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. 

 Acts  17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:  17:31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

WHAT WILL JESUS USE TO JUDGE AT THE END OF TIME?

Revelation  1:16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.  1:17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:  1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

WHAT IS THIS TWO-EDGED SWORD?

Hebrews 4:12

” For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

WHAT WE DO WITH GOD’S WORD TODAY DETERMINES, WHAT HAPPEN TO YOU ON THE LAST DAY.

John  12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.  12:47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.  12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

Deuteronomy 32:29
” O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!”

BE WISE FROM NOW ON AND GIVE YOUR SELF CONTINUALLY TO OBEYING GOD’S WORD.

2.  JUSTICE FOR REDEEMED SAINTS.

The judgement of believers had already been laid on CHRIST, through His vicarious death on the cross of calvary.  

WE WILL NOT BE PART OF THE WHITE THRONE JUDGEMENT.

1st Pet 3:18. 

For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

 Romans  4:24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;  4:25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Believers of every generation will not partake of this righteous fiery and fearful judgement at the end of time, because, they have been justified through CHRIST death and ascension.

HOWEVER, WE ALSO WILL APPEAR BEFORE HIS JUDGEMENT .

2 Corinthians 5:10
” For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”

1 Corinthians  3:13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.  3:14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built there upon, he shall receive a reward.  3:15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Be committed to working for CHRIST today, so that He will reward you at the Bema sit.

Whatever the ministry God has given you, don’t use it to  get the praise of men, but to turn them to righteousness.

Daniel 12:3
” And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.”

Revelation 22:12
” And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.”

3. JUDGEMENT FOR REJECTED SINNERS.

Regrettably on the other hand, all mankind of  past and present generations who disdain and despise God’s only acceptable means of justification will partake in this fearful judgement of God, through CHRIST JESUS our Lord.

WHO ARE THE PEOPLE THAT WILL APPEAR AT THE WHITE THRONE JUDGEMENT?

Anyone that appears there will be sent to eternal damnation.

Revelation 21:8
” But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

Revelation 21:27
” And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.”

Is 33:14. 
The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings? 

Psalms 9:17.

The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

But then you can avert this imminent damnable judgement.

John  3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
