Study 8:  The Seven Churches  of the Book of Revelation

Dearly beloved brethren, before we will begin the in-depth study of the seven churches in the book of Revelation, we will still review the deep  teachings of chapter one.

From our previous studies, you discover that this message came from God the Father and given to our Lord Jesus Christ.

He in turned sent it to all His :

 1. servants, meaning you in particular 

2. and the primary churches then, the seven identified churches 

3. and the totality of the churches then 

4. and then all global churches, till the end of time.

Revelation  1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:  1:2 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.  1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

You will recount that this particular book of Revelation is full of symbols. 

Our Lord choses seven churches.  Remember seven means totality, wholesome, fullness, perfection and finality.

So therefore the message was sent, primarily to  : 1. the selected seven churches,

2.  you as a matter of church of Christ, bought with His blood 

3. and all the churches globally till the end of time..

Primary message: . the selected seven churches,

Personal message:  you as a matter of church of Christ, bought with His blood

Prophetic messages:  and all the churches globally till the end of time..

Revelation  1:4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;  1:19 Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;  1:20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.

This morning by the grace of God, we will be studying the overview of the message sent from Christ  to the first recipients of the message, which were the seven selected churches.  The first one was the

church at Ephesus..

Revelation  2:1 Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;

Then by extension to all Bible believing believers of all ages and you in particular, bought with the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Acts  20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Revelation  13:9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.

Revelation  2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

  And then , the whole church of Christ till the end of the time.

Revelation  1:19 Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;  1:20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.

Seven signifying the totality of the churches..

Revelation  2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

Pause here. Adam and Eve were driven out of Eden, hindered then from having access to the tree of life.  

They repented and because you will live with God in heaven, you will see them again.

However, you must do everything to get there  and eat out of this tree of life and live forever.

Don’t forget Adam and Eve were driven out of Eden initially to hinder them from having access to the tree of life.

Genesis  3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:  3:23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.  3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

I pray that you will get to heaven and eat this fruit forever in Jesus name.
