Pursue and recover
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
It is true that the devil will make tireless efforts to steal what God has given you.
Jesus Christ our Master and Lord will help you to stop him and recover everything he has stolen.
Always remember everything God gives you, His always permanent.
Romans 11:29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
If the wicked one tries to steal, kill or destroy, Jesus will always help you to repossess your possessions.
Obadiah 1:17 But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.
This was what happened to David, before he became king.
The devil used the Amalekites to steal his properties and that of the people with him in Ziklag.
David enquired from the Lord what to do.
The Lord informed him to pursue the enemies. He did and recovered everything they stole.
1. Their properties and families were stolen.
1 Samuel 30:1 And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire; 30:2 And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went on their way. 30:3 So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives.
2. He enquired what to do and Lord said he should pursue and recover everything.
30:7 And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David. 30:8 And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
3. He did and recovered all
30:17 And David smote them from the twilight even unto the evening of the next day: and there escaped not a man of them, save four hundred young men, which rode upon camels, and fled. 30:18 And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives. 30:19 And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor any thing that they had taken to them: David recovered all.
God will do same for us too in Jesus name. Everything safan and his cohorts have stolen from us, shall be restored back to you in Jesus name.
Joel 2:23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. 2:24 And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil. 2:25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.
God said He will restore and gives us more in Jesus name.
2:26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed. 2:27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.
This morning, God says we should call upon Him and He will hear us and provide us with the needed help in Jesus name.
Isaiah 65:22 They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. 65:23 They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them. 65:24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
So pray and we will recover all loses of the time past in Jesus name.
God is determined to give us testimony.
Luke 21:13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.
Let us endeavor to be living lifestyle of biblical holiness, so our prayers will not be hindered in Jesus name.
Let us pray.
