Revelation of Christ given by God.

Revelation of Christ, given by God

Revelation  1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:  1:2 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.  1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

The revelation is the unveiling of divine mysteries.

This revelation belong to our Master and Lord Jesus Christ, which God gave to Him.

God the Father in heaven is the source of this revelation while Christ our Master and Lord was the medium through whom the revelation passes to men

The Revelation was made by Jesus Christ to his servant John, and then the record of it was penned by John for the information of other servants of God.

The reason why God gave this revelation to Jesus was for the purpose of showing His servants things which must shortly come to pass.

The things previously hidden were shown to John in visions, and were then described by John in writing, so that his fellow servants might see them in his book.  The fulfillment of these revelations must surely come to pass.

The true author of the primary act of Revelation was Jesus Christ; Saint John wrote an account of what had been by Christ revealed to him, and that written account then became a Revelation to all others who should read it or hear it.

The things that were shown to John in a vision were shown to the rest of the world in John’s book.

This book was not a Revelation to John himself, who merely recorded therein what had been shown to him in vision; but to us it is “

The Revelation” of that new knowledge which Christ disclosed to John in another and a more mysterious way

Revelation 1:2 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.

Here is an attestation of the prophecy, Revelation 1:2. It was signified to John, who bore record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.

He was one who bore record of the word of God in general, and of the testimony of Jesus in particular, and of all things that he saw he was an eye-witness, and he concealed nothing that he saw.

Nothing recorded in this revelation was his own invention or imagination but all was the record of God and the testimony of Jesus and, as he added nothing to it, so he kept back no part of the counsels of God.

Like John others in the time past also had revelations  from the Lord.

Psalms  25:14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

Amos  3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

Daniel  2:28 But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;  2:29 As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass.

Daniel  2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.  2:45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

Paul apostle received revelations about Christ our Master and Lord.

Romans  16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

Galatians  1:12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Ephesians  3:3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,

Apostle John too, bore witness of Christ’s words.

John  8:26 I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.

John  12:49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

John  15:15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

John  19:35 And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.

Apostle John too, bore witness of God’s revelation of Christ.

1 John  5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.  5:8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.  5:9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.  5:10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.  5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

Revelation  22:6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.

God’s blessings avail for all who reads these prophecies and do them.

Revelation  1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

But then you might be wondering why are they not fulfilled yet. Please remember this.

2 Peter  3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Time with God is different from time with men

Revelation 1:19 Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;

Some of the things apostle John saw to edify the church, people bought with Christ’s blood till He comes.

Revelation  1:9 I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.  1:10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,  1:11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.  1:12 And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;  1:13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.  1:14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;  1:15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.  1:16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.  1:17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:  1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.  1:19 Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;  1:20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.

Some of the things he saw that will be fulfilled hereafter.

Revelation  4:1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

Revelation  6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

Revelation  12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.  12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Revelation  21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Revelation  22:6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.

Revelation  22:10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.

22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

Today by the grace of God, we begin the study of the last book of prophecy.

The revelation God gave to Christ about Himself to reveal to us His blood bought church.

We will be immensely blessed as we study this great revelation about our Master and Lord Jesus Christ.

Revelation  1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

Let us pray.
