Never ever yield to temptation.
Matthew 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. 4:2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. 4:3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. 4:5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, 4:6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. 4:7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 4:9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. 4:11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
Our Master and Lord Jesus Christ was visited by the devil, the tempter after He finished His forty days fasting and prayer.
This story was written to inform all Bible believing believers of all ages and you in particular, that, if our Master and Lord Jesus Christ was not spared from the devil’s temptations, you also will not be spared.
Romans 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
Don’t ever forget, you will not need to go to tempters, they will come to you on their own.
Many things have already opened the doors for the tempters to come to you.
The social media, divers publications on the television, radio and News papers are all opened doors for the devil, the tempter to come to you.
But then remember, there is no spiritual heights you have attained that immunes you from the devil’s tireless and subtle temptations.
But then you are assured that God will never allow you to be tempted more than what you are able to cope.
1 Corinthians 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
In addition, His grace will be sufficient for you to be more than conquerors. He will give you enough grace to overcome.
2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Our Master and Lord Jesus Christ was victorious. You also will be, by His unfailing grace in Jesus name.
Let us pray.
