Keeping thy mouth shut.

Keeping thy mouth shut.

Proverbs  13:3 He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.

Proverbs  21:23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

It is very very important for you to know, how to keep God’s secret in your life.

God in His love will show us , His plans for our lives.

These are your secret, which you must endeavor not to share with others, because out of jealousy, they might hurt you and hinder or delay the good plans of God for your life.

This was the undoing of Joseph. He suffered for thirteen years, because he did not keep, God’s plans for his life.

Genesis  37:5 And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.  37:9 And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me.  37:10 And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?  37:11 And his brethren envied him; but his father observed the saying.

It is for this reason that the Spirit of God warns the saints to endeavor to keep God’s secrets for their lives.

Listen to what the scriptures say about keeping your mouth.

Proverbs  13:3 He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.

Proverbs  21:23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

Psalms  39:1 I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.

Psalms  141:3 Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips

Micah  7:5 Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom.

There are examples in the Bible both in the old and new testaments, who kept God’s secrets and did not go through what Joseph suffered.

1. Saul, first king of Israel.

1 Samuel  10:1 Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance?  10:14 And Saul’s uncle said unto him and to his servant, Whither went ye? And he said, To seek the asses: and when we saw that they were no where, we came to Samuel.  10:15 And Saul’s uncle said, Tell me, I pray thee, what Samuel said unto you.  10:16 And Saul said unto his uncle, He told us plainly that the asses were found. But of the matter of the kingdom, whereof Samuel spake, he told him not.

. Mary the mother of our Lord

Luke  2:15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.  2:16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.  2:17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.  2:18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.  2:19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

2:48 And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.  2:49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?  2:50 And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.  2:51 And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

God will always fulfill His promises in our lives. But then let us endeavor to keep His secrets in our lives to hinder wicked people from truncating Gods plans for our lives.

Psalms  145:19 He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.

1 Kings  8:15 And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which spake with his mouth unto David my father, and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying,

1 Kings  8:24 Who hast kept with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him: thou spakest also with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.

Matthew  1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.  1:22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,  1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Proverbs  21:23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

Let us pray.
