Beware of satan’s subtilty.

Beware of satan’s subtilty.

1 Peter  5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Beloved, the devil knew he has but a short time left.

Revelation  12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.  12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

Because of this, he increases his activities to draw multitude inside and outside of the church to hell. He will fail abysmally concerning us all in Jesus name.

There is no spiritual heights you have attained that  immunes you from falling. Every one is prone to falling,  except you are sober and watchful.

1 Corinthians  10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.  10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.  10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

No wonder the blessed Holy Spirit exhorted all Bible believing believers of all ages to be watchful against the devil’s subtilty.

2 Corinthians  11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

Examples of those who fell in the time past.

1. Adam and Eve

Genesis  3:17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;  3:18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;  3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.  3:23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.  3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

2. Judas

Matthew  26:14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,  26:15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.  26:16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

Matthew  27:3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,  27:4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.  27:5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

3. Annanias and Sapphira.

Acts  5:1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,  5:2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.  5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?  5:4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.  5:5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.  5:7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.  5:8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.  5:9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.  5:10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

Beloved, it is very easy to subdue the devil, if you will choose to submit to God.

James  4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Remember, satan is still determinedly seeking whom to devour.

He will fall concerning us all in Jesus name.

1 Peter  5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Let us pray.
