Serving Christ to attain earthly and eternal rewards.

John  12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

Our Lord Jesus Christ exhorted His faithful followers of all ages and you in particular to serve Him and be rewarded here and hereafter.

Serving Christ according to God’s perfect will, will earn you indescribable earthly and eternal rewards.

1 Corinthians  15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Colossians  3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;  3:24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

However,  Christ must be served scripturally to earn both earthly and eternal rewards.

When you serve Him, you follow Him, learn of Him and replicate His lifestyle in all things and at all times.

However, Christ warns us of the goodness and severity of God.

Romans  11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

He warns His faithful followers to fear God, who can cast anyone to hell.

Luke  12:5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

The reason why this happens is simply for serving Christ not according to scriptures.

Matthew  7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.  7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?  7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

The likes of Judas, Demas and Nicholas have ended up in hell. It is important to learn from their undoings and avoid their tragic end.

Romans  15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

1 Corinthians  10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

No wonder, Jesus warned the seventy disciples to avoid anything that can hinder their names from being written or removed from the book of life.

Luke  10:17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.  10:20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

However, when you served Christ according to God’s perfect will, you will enjoy endless earthly joy and fulfillment and secured eternity with Him at the end of time.

Psalms  23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.  23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

God’s  lifetime goodness and mercies shall be the portion of all that served Christ according to His perfect willi and eternity with Him is also guaranteed.

So endeavor to serve Christ and all of these shall be your portion in Jesus name.

John  12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

Let us pray.
