Blessings through hearing the word

Acts  10:44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

It is very very important to know that, those who give attention to hearing God’s Word, when it is being preached receive special blessings from God.

When Peter was preaching in the house of Cornelius, only those who heard the preached word received the Holy Ghost baptism.

In the ministry of Jesus, those who came to hear His words, were the ones that received healings.

Luke  5:15 But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities.

Luke  6:17 And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;

Only those who gave attention to God’s word Jesus preached brought forth fruits.

Luke  8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

In deed there are innumerable blessings for all those who comes to God’s house and hear His words attentively.

1.  Received baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Acts  10:44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.  10:45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.  10:46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,  10:47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

2. Healed during the earthly ministry of Jesus.

Luke  5:15 But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities.

Brought forth fruits of the Spirit.

Received conversion.

Acts  4:4 Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.

Received gift of faith.

Romans  10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Jesus commended Mary for doing same.

Luke  10:38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.  10:39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.  10:40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.  10:41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:  10:42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

Endeavor to always be willing to listen attentively to God’s word when you go to church and you will be blessed.
