STUDYING  JESUS FROM THE BIBLE.  NEHEMIAH  – THE  REBUILDER OF BROKEN RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.   TUE   4th  MARCH   2025

The bible from Genesis to revelation contains sixty six books.  The whole books of the bible talks about Jesus. Our Lord commanded us to search the scriptures and we will find it so.   Jhn 5: 39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. The book of   NEHEMIAH reveals Jesus as THE REBUILDER OF OUR BROKEN RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD. Nehemiah was in captivity because of the disobedience of the entire nation of Judah. God warned them, but they repented not and were taken to slavery and captivity.  Nehemiah was concerned about the plight of his nation and decided to do something about it. He prayed, fasted and took permission from the king to go and rebuild his nation. In the same token Jesus voluntarily committed Himself to go through the agony of Calvary for men to be reconciled to God.

1.      READINESS OF CHRIST TO JUSTIFY SINNERS BEFORE GOD..

2.  REGRET FOR COVERING AND JUSTIFYING SINS BEFORE GOD..

3.. REDEMPTION FOR CONTRITE JUSTIFIED SAINTS BEFORE GOD..

1.      READINESS OF CHRIST TO JUSTIFY SINNERS BEFORE GOD..

Nehemiah gave himself to rebuild the broken wall of Jerusalem. So also our Lord Jesus Christ voluntarily gave Himself to rebuild the broken relationship between humanity and God.

Nehemiah  4:6 So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.

Nehemiah  6:15 So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days.

Romans  3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;  3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:  3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;  3:26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

Romans  6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.  6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Ephesians  2:11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;  2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:  2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.  2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;  2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;  2:16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

Revelation  5:1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.  5:2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?  5:3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.  5:4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.  5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.  5:6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.  5:7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.  5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.  5:9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;  5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.  5:11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;  5:12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.  5:13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.  5:14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

2.  REGRET FOR COVERING AND JUSTIFYING SINS BEFORE GOD..

What exactly brought the wall of partition between God and humanity?

Was it the sin of Adam and Eve? No. In deed they sinned, but what brought the problem was not their sin. .

They justified their sins before God, instead of repenting.

Even though God was displeased with the sinners sins, He gets very unhappy, when sin is justified instead of repenting..

Genesis  3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.  3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.  3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.  3:9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?  3:10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.  3:11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?  3:12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.  3:13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

Job  31:33 If I covered my transgressions as Adam, by hiding mine iniquity in my bosom:

Isaiah  63:17 O LORD, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants’ sake, the tribes of thine inheritance.

They never acknowledged their sins before God.

They justified it.  How we need to learn from their  mistake.

Matthew  23:33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

Matthew  25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

3.. REDEMPTION FOR CONTRITE JUSTIFIED SAINTS BEFORE GOD..Adam and Eve paid dearly for justifying their sins before God. How we need to learn from their costly mistake and avoid it.

1 John  2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:  2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Proverbs  28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

God pardons us when we confess.Micah  7:18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.  7:19 He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

No matter the gravity of our sins, when we willingly confess to God, He will pardon us. 2 Samuel  12:1 And the LORD sent Nathan unto David. And he came unto him, and said unto him, There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor.  12:2 The rich man had exceeding many flocks and herds:  12:3 But the poor man had nothing, save one little ewe lamb, which he had bought and nourished up: and it grew up together with him, and with his children; it did eat of his own meat, and drank of his own cup, and lay in his bosom, and was unto him as a daughter.  12:4 And there came a traveller unto the rich man, and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd, to dress for the wayfaring man that was come unto him; but took the poor man’s lamb, and dressed it for the man that was come to him.  12:5 And David’s anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As the LORD liveth, the man that hath done this thing shall surely die:  12:6 And he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity.  12:7 And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul;  12:8 And I gave thee thy master’s house, and thy master’s wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things.  12:9 Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.  12:10 Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife.  12:11 Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun.  12:12 For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.  12:13 And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.

Why will God forgave David, The adulterer and murderer and did not pardon Adam?

The answer was that David acknowledged his sins, while Adam justified his own. John  6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
Hebrews  7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

What then is sin that must never be justified before God?Romans  1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;  1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,  1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,  1:31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:  1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Find out are you free from what I just read?

If you are praise God,, but if you are not,  you are already separated from God.

Come  to Jesus now, to get reconciled back to God.Matthew  11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.Isaiah  1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Remember you can not cover your sins and get reconciled with God now. Proverbs  28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

This morning ,if you will come to Jesus with all your sins, He will pardon and not turn you away

Let us pray.
