Jesus, the passover Lamb.

JESUS FROM THE BIBLE. EXD  – THE  PASSOVER LAMB   Tue 15 th  Oct  2013The greatest desire of our Lord Jesus Christ is for  His faithful disciples to have first-hand information about Him. The Bible from the beginning to the end reveals Him to us. He himself commanded us to search the scriptures, to help us discover all we need to know about Him.

Jhn 5: 39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me

2ND  Pet  3; 18 But grow  in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

THE BOOK OF EXODUS REVEALS JESUS CHRIST TO US AS THE PASCHAL LAMB. IN EXD 12;3, 5-6, 12-13,  15;;13.

Exodus  12:3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:

12:5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:  12:6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.

12:12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.  12:13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

Exodus  15:13 Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation.

Four things are discovered.

 THE LAMB,

THE LAMB WITHOUT BLEMISH, THE BLOOD

AND REDEMPTION.

By the time these four things are summed up, They pointed to the Lord Jesus Christ.

1st Pet 1: 18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers.  19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.  REV 13:8.

Revelation  13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

1.     PASCHAL LAMB A POINTER  TO  THE BLOOD OF JESUS.

The slain Paschal Lamb was a pointer to the prophesied atonement  of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Children of Israeli received : FREEDOM FROM BONDAGE AND SLAVERY OF 430 YEARS. DELIVERANCE OF THEIR FIRST BORN FROM DEATH.

EXD 12”12-13.

REDEMPTION TO BECOME GOD’S PEOPLE THAT WILL LIVE WITH HIM IN HIS HOLY HABITATION.

EXD 15:13. Exodus  15:13 Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation.

HOWEVER , THE BLOOD OF JESUS, THE LAMB WITHOUT BLEMISH SLAIN BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD PROVIDES US, MUCH MORE  THAN WHAT THE PASCHAL LAMB PROVIDED.

1. REDEMPTION THROUGH HIS BLOOD. 1 PET 1:18-19/

1 Peter  1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;  1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

 2. CLEANSING  FROM ALL SINS.   1JHN 1:7.

1 John  1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

3. PROPITIATION OR THE ONLY ACCEPTABLE ATONING SACRIFICE FOR OUR SINS.1JHN 2:1-2 1xt COR 10:19-21

1 John  2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:  2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

1 Corinthians  10:19 What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?  10:20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.  10:21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils.

4. JUSTIFICATION FROM ETERNAL WRATH.

Romans  5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

5 REMOVAL OF HANDWRITING OF ORDINANCES. COL 2: 14,

Colossians  2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

 EXD 17:13-16,

Exodus  17:13 And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.  17:14 And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.  17:15 And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi:  17:16 For he said, Because the LORD hath sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.

FULFILLED 400 YEARS AFTER, ON INNOCENT GENERATION. 1 SAM 15:2-3.

1 Samuel  15:1 Samuel also said unto Saul, The LORD sent me to anoint thee to be king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the words of the LORD.  15:2 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.  15:3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.

WE NEED TO PRAY THAT  YOUR PARENTS SINS OF PAST GENERATION WILL NOT  AFFECT YOU AND GENERATION AFTER YOU

EXD 22:22_24. STOP HURTING WEAK PEOPLE TO AVOID HANDWRITING OF ORDINANCES.

Exodus  22:22 Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.  22:23 If thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me, I will surely hear their cry;  22:24 And my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.

ISA 28:15, 18.REMOVE EVERY SATANIC COVENANT.

Isaiah  28:15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:  28:18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.

6. THE BLOOD OF JESUS BROKE EVERY SEPARATION OUR SINS HAVE BUILT BETWEEN US AND GOD. EPH 2:12-14.

Ephesians  2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:  2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.  2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

7   IT IS ONLY THROUGH THE BLOOD OF JESUS , THAT OUR PRAYERS ARE ACCEPTABLE TO GOD. HEB 10:19.

Hebrews  10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

8 PURGING FOR GREATER USE AS A VESSEL OF HONOR IN GOD”S HANDS. 2ND TIM 2:19-21.

2 Timothy  2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.  2:20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.  2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.

 9.REMOVAL OF GENERATIONAL CURSES.  GAL 3: 13-14.

Galatians  3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:  3:14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

10. WEAPON OF WARFARE. REV 12:11.

Revelation  12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

 11. REIGNING WITH CHRIST FOREVER. REV 1:5-6.

Revelation  1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,  1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

12. . THE BLOOD OF JESUS SANCTIFIES US. HEB 13: 12-13.

Hebrews  13:12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.  13:13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.

13. BLESSINGS THROUGH HIS BLOOD. ROM 8:32

Romans  8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

2.     PARDON FOR TRUSTING ONLY THE BLOOD OF JESUS.

ALL THAT WE RECEIVE FROM GOD COMES TO US BY TRUSTING AND LEANING ONLY ON THE BLOOD OF JESUS.

HIS BLOOD IS THE ONLY ACCEPTABLE RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Romans  10:1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.  10:2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.  10:3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.  10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

OTHER RIGHTEOUSNESSES ARE FILTYJ BEFORE GOD

Isaiah  64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Luke  18:9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:  18:10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.  18:11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.  18:12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.  18:13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.  18:14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Jesus’s blood acceptable righteousness.

Romans  3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;  3:26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

2 Corinthians  5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

. LK 18: 9-14. ROM 10: 1-4, 3 : 25-26, 2ND COR 5:21.

FAITH IN THE PRECIOUS BLOOD JESUS SHED IS THE ONLY ACCEPTABLE RIGHTEOUSNESS TO GOD.

3.     PUNISHMENT FOR TRODDEN ON THE BLOOD.

UNFORTUNATELY MANY CHURCH GOERS WILL HAVE THEIR SOULS DAMNED, BECAUSE OF WRONG ATTITUDE TO JESUS’S BLOOD.

HEB 10: 26-29.

Hebrews  10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,  10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.  10:28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:  10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

God will pardon accidental sins, not wilful sin quoting the Bible.

Psalms  130:3 If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?

But when you sin accidentally, not willfully. You get pardon from God.

1 John  2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:  2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

COME TO JESUS THIS MORNING  FOR CLEANSING. HE IS THE PASCHAL LAMB. 1ST PET 1: 18-19.

1 Peter  1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;  1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Let us pray.
