Jesus the good Shepherd.

John  10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep

The Bible both in the old and new testaments, refers to Jesus as Shepherd.

John  10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep

John  10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

Hebrews  13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

1 Peter  2:25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

1 Peter  2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:  2:22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:  2:23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:  2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.  2:25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

Listen to what He did for His sheep.

John  10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.  10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.  10:17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.  10:18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

Psalms  23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.  23:2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.  23:3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.  23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.  23:5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.  23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Isaiah  40:11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

Ezekiel  34:12 As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.

Ezekiel  34:23 And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.  34:24 And I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken it.

But then are you one of His sheep?

John  10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:  10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

John  10:4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.  10:5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

You must endeavor to be His faithful sheep.  This is because at the end of time, our Lord Jesus Christ will sit in His office as a shepherd and divide the sheep from the goats.

Matthew  25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:  25:32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:  25:33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.  25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:  25:35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:  25:36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.  25:37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?  25:38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?  25:39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?  25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.  25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:  25:42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:  25:43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.  25:44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?  25:45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.  25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Our Lord in deed is the good Shepherd. Endeavor to be a faithful sheep to Him and here and hereafter,  you shall be blessed.

John  10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

Let us pray.
