JESUS’S DISPLEASURE OVER CHURCHES  AND MEMBERS WHO ARE NOT JEALOUSLY DEFENDING HIS CAUSE.

Revelation  2:18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;  2:19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.  2:20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.  2:21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.  2:22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.  2:23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.  2:24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.  2:25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.  2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:  2:27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.  2:28 And I will give him the morning star.  2:29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

We are going to study the topic under three subheadings.

1. CHRIST CHURCH AND THEIR FAILURE IN JEALOUSY DEFENDING HIS CAUSE.

2. CHRIST CHURCH, THEIR FAITH, Justliness, DEDICATION  AND CHARITY 

3.  CHRIST CHURCH  THE FAITHFUL-FEW AND JOYFUL-END,  FOR THEIR CORRUPTION- FREE.

1. CHRIST CHURCH AND THEIR FAILURE IN JEALOUSY DEFENDING HIS CAUSE.

  . The letter was sent to the pastor, the leaders and the entire members of the church, occupying for Jesus.

Revelation  2:18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;  

We all must be holy like the 

angels.

Matthew 25:31

When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

Mark 8:38

Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

We must be holy , like God is holy.

1 Peter  1:15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;  1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

  The introduction of Jesus was very very fearful.

Revelation  2:18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;  

What made us to think so?

Revelation  1:14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;  1:15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

Revelation  19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.  19:12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.  19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

it was because Jesus introduced Himself as a righteous judge.  Why?

The church and the majority of its members were not jealosly defending the cause of Christ.

The city of Thyatira was known for worship the sun god.  

It was referred to as  Apollo, the sun god, and was the chief deity at Thyatira, where he was worshipped under the Macedonian name of Tyrimnas

Sun god as an idol was being worshiped   to tirelessly challenge the deity of Jesus Christ our Lord, as  the Son of God and God.  And this was the chief of all the idols at Thyatira.

Our Master and Lord Jesus Christ in deed is the Son of God according to the scriptures.

John  11:22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.  11:23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.  11:24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.  11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:  11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?  11:27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world 20:30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:  20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

Very very unfortunately, what is giving Bible believing believers joy about our Lord Jesus Christ, is resolutely contested  and tirelessly challenged  by satan and his cohorts, human beings and spirit beings.  Listen to it yourself.

Matthew  4:3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

Matthew 4:6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Matthew 8:29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?

  Listen to  the attitude of the Sanhedrin to this title of our Lord.

Matthew  26:62 And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?  26:63 But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God. 

 26:64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.  26:65 Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.

 This deity issue was the singular reason, why the Sanhedrin pursued determinedly, the crucifixion of our Lord. Listen to it.

John  19:5 Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!  19:6 When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.  19:7 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

 This same issue that our Lord was the undeniable Son of God, was what informed the idolatry worship of the sun god.

Sun god as an idol was to tirelessly challenged the deity of Jesus Christ our Lord, as God.  And this was the chief of all the idols at Thyatira.

This same  idol was the one Jezebel was seducing God’s people at the church at Thyatira, to worship.

 It was because of the worship of the sun god in  Thyatira, and by the people seduced in   this church that made our Lord to introduce Himself as the  Son of God.

REMEMBER, ONE OF THE THING YOU ARE CALLED TO DO AS A SOLDIER FOR CHRIST IS TO DEFEND HIS CAUSE AT WHATEVER COST.

No wonder, the scriptures says you a Bible believing believer, must not be ignorant of satan’s devices, so you will not fall a victim. You shall not fail in Jesus name.

2 Corinthians 2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. The Bible says you should flee  all forms of idolatry. Grace to do so like faithful brethren at  the church at Thyatira, receive in Jesus name.

1 Corinthians  10:14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

Dearly beloved brethren, as Bible believing believer, you must attach importance to anything our Lord Jesus Christ attach importance to. This you do  to prove your unalloyed loyalty to Him.

 The Muslims attached so much importance to their religious rites and so you too should do as a true and Bible believing believers.

 The good Lord shall help you in particular in Jesus mighty name.

2. CHRIST CHURCH, THEIR FAITH, JUSTNESS, DEDICATION  AND CHARITY 

Revelation  2:19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first. 

THIS CHURCH WAS COMMENDED BY JESUS FOR THEIR GOOD WORKS AND LABOR FOR CHRIST.  THEY GREW IN WORKING FOR JESUS.  THEIR LATTER WORKS WERE GREATER THAN THE BEGINING.

 Revelation  2:19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.  

You will recount that from the outset this church was very very liberal.

Philippians  4:15 Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.  4:16 For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity.  4:17 Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.  4:18 But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.  4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

2 Corinthians  8:1 Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;  8:2 How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.  8:3 For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;  8:4 Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.  8:5 And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.

JESUS PROMISED TO REWARD THEIR WORKS.

2:23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

The scriptures also affirmed same.

1 Corinthians  15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Colossians  3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;  3:24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

Revelation  22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.  22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Beloved are you liberal or stingy?

Proverbs  11:24 There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.  11:25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

Matthew  10:42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

Galatians  6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.  6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Hebrews  6:10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

The good Lord shall help you in particular in Jesus name.

3.  CHRIST CHURCH  THE FAITHFUL-FEW AND JOYFUL-END,  FOR THEIR CORRUPTION- FREE

Revelation  2:24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.  2:25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.  2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:  2:27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.  2:28 And I will give him the morning star.  2:29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

 JESUS SAW THAT, SOME OF THE MEMBERS OF THIS CHURCH, WERE NOT INFLUENCED BY WHAT, THE CORRUPT  MEMBRRS IN THE CHURCH WERE DOING.

HE ENCOURAGED THEM TO CONTINUE LIVING IN HOLINESS.

Revelation  2:24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.  2:25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.

  JESUS PROMISED TO GIVE THEM , THE MORNING STAR, WHICH IS HIMSELF.

Revelation  2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:  2:27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.  2:28 And I will give him the morning star.  2:29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

JESUS HIMSELF IS THE MORNING STAR AND WILL RULE THE WORLD IN THE MILLENNIUM.

THESE OVERCOMERS WILL HAVE JESUS HIMSELF AND RULE  WITH HIM.

JESUS OUR LORD HIMSELF IS THE MORNING STAR.

Revelation 2:28

And I will give him the morning star.

Revelation 22:16

I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

MAY THE GOOD LORD HELP YOU TO BE AN OVERCOMER AND NEVER COPY SINFUL THINGS, OTHERS IN THE CHURCH WORLD ARE DOING.
