When God wants you to drink the cup.

WHEN GOD WANTS YOU TO DRINK THE CUP.

John  16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Beloved Brethren, there is something you must never be doing. Stop comparing yourself with others.

Don’t ask why you have to go through a perticular challenge, that others don’t go through.

Exercise patience with God.  We will understand  it  by and by at the other side.

God is sovereign. He is unquestionable.  He does things as it pleases him.

Romans  9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.  9:14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.  9:15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.  9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

But then He loves all His people the same way, He loved Christ our Master and Lord

John  17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

The secret things belong to God. In heaven we will have a better understanding.

Deuteronomy  29:29 The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

God is faithful

Deuteronomy  7:9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

God is compassionate

Micah  7:18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.  7:19 He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

All things work for our good.

Romans  8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

He has prepared great things for you.

1 Corinthians  2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

So on this side of heaven, you might have to go through inexpanable challenges.

John  16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Acts  14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

You must count it all joy and be patient with God.

James  1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;  1:3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.  1:4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

This was what the apostles did in Jerusalem.

Acts  5:40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.  5:41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.  5:42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

Remember a day with God is a thousand years.

2 Peter  3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

God has given all of us up till one hundred and twenty years.

Genesis  6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

Our length of suffering is just ten days.

Revelation  2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

God might give you a cup, that you must drink, which you will understand why in heaven.

This happened to our Master and Lord and the following people,

Jesus

Luke  22:39 And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.  22:40 And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.  22:41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,  22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

Moses

Deuteronomy  3:23 And I besought the LORD at that time, saying,  3:24 O Lord GOD, thou hast begun to shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand: for what God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy might?  3:25 I pray thee, let me go over, and see the good land that is beyond Jordan, that goodly mountain, and Lebanon.  3:26 But the LORD was wroth with me for your sakes, and would not hear me: and the LORD said unto me, Let it suffice thee; speak no more unto me of this matter.  3:27 Get thee up into the top of Pisgah, and lift up thine eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and behold it with thine eyes: for thou shalt not go over this Jordan.  3:28 But charge Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see.

Paul

2 Corinthians  12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.  12:8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.  12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  12:10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Timothy

1 Timothy  5:21 I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.  5:22 Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men’s sins: keep thyself pure.  5:23 Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach’s sake and thine often infirmities.

Epaphroditus

Philippians  2:25 Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.  2:26 For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick.  2:27 For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.

Fanny Crosby,   Prophet Obadare and Perhaps you etc.

Be patient with God. In heaven we will understand by and by.

Remember,  All things work for our good.

Romans  8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Let us pray.
