Avoiding the consequences of the undoing of the five foolish virgins.

Avoiding the consequences of the undoing of the five foolish virgins

Matthew  25:1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.  25:2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.  25:3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:  25:4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.  25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.  25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.  25:7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.  25:8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.  25:9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.  25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.  25:11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.  25:12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.  25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

The difference between the five wise virgins and the foolish was that, the wise knew what was right and did them.

The foolish knew what to do and refused to doing them. But when the consequences were done on them, they went to do them, but then it was too late.

The two malefactors teaches us what to do at the right time.

Damnation was waiting for the two malefactors.

The two of them knew what to do

The word of the foolish malefactor.

Luke  23:39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.

The word of the wise malefactor.

Luke  23:40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?  23:41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.  23:42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.  23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Not quite long after this discussion, Jesus gave up the ghost.

Luke  23:46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

The wise malefactor sought God when He could be found.

Isaiah  55:6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:  55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

The foolish virgins did what was right when it was too late and damned their souls.

Matthew  25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

Pause and examine yourself.

To be ready for the imminent rapture, the Bible says you should do the following.

Colossians  3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.  3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.  3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.  3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

1 Thessalonians  5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 John  2:28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

1 John  3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.  3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.  3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

The summary is that you should be biblically saved and be free from sin as a new creature.

2 Corinthians  5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

In addition you must be holy and sanctified.

Hebrews  12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

You are walking in daily biblical holiness and righteousness lifestyle.

Luke  1:75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.

You must do your restitutions.

Luke  19:8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.  19:9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

God require restitution

Ecclesiastes  3:15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.

Make sure your name is in the book of life and avoid anything that will remove it.

Luke  10:20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

Exodus  32:33 And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

Revelation  3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Revelation  20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Is your name in the book of life?

All these the five wise virgins did.

Unfortunately, the foolish knew all these are important, but refused to do them

Matthew  25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.  25:11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

But when the consequences were done on them, went to do them.

They did the right things when it was too.

Examine yourself. Do you fall into the category of wise virgins or the wise malefactor?

Or you belong to the foolish virgins, knowing what to do, but refusing to do them.

The bucks stops with you.

Hebrews  3:7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,  3:8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:  3:15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

Take advantage of the provision of Calvary now, when God can still be found.

Tomorrow might be too late.

Isaiah  55:6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

Be persuaded.

2 Corinthians  5:11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

Be Wise

Matthew  7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:  7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

Deuteronomy  32:29 O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

The good Lord will help you in Jesus name

Let us pray.
