Jesus from the book of Hebrews.

Jesus Christ from the book  of Hebrews

The Bible from the book of Hebrews reveals our Lord JESUS CHRIST to be Better than the Best.

He is better and superior than all the people that came before Him.

Hebrews  1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,  1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;  1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;  1:4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

Hebrews 7:22  By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.

Hebrews 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

Hebrews 12:24. And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

Our Lord JESUS CHRIST was better than the prophets, angels,  Moses, Aaron, and Joshua. He was  better than all.

Our Lord is a surety of better covenant, established on better promises, giving a better hope.

He was  better than the tabernacle, the altar, the mercy seat, reared up by Moses.

He was better than  all the Old Testament sacrifices of Aaron. His blood was better and gives us a better access and standing with God.

We will consider the topic under three subheadings.

1. CHRIST BETTER THAN THE BEST.

2. CHRIST’S BLESSINGS FOR BELIEVERS

3. CONDITIONS FOR BENEFITING FROM THE BEST.

1. CHRIST BETTER THAN THE BEST.

The Holy Spirit used apostle Paul to write the book of the Hebrews primarily to the Jewish Christians undergoing persecution and discouragement,

At that  time they were contemplating returning to Judaism.

The book was written to strengthen their faith in CHRIST and to affirm His  superiority, sufficiency  which is far better than all the gains the Old Testament  put together.

In the same token believers today can really wholeheartedly on the superiority and sufficiency of CHRIST for all things, for this life and hereafter.

In Him and through Him, everything have been provided for.  2 Peter 1:3. According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

His substitutional sacrifice provides us with all things we ever need in this life and after freely.

Romans 8:32. He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

Because of this, we should continually express our unalloyed gratitude to our father in heaven for this unspeakable gift to all mankind.

Hebrews 13:15.  By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

2. CHRIST’S BLESSINGS FOR BELIEVERS

Dear friend why look for brass, when gold is placed at your disposal, why look for substitute when the authentic is readily available.

Christ’s earthly and eternal blessings, sufficient for Bible believing believers.

Through Christ they are saved

Acts  4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Through Him, they are sanctified.

Hebrews  13:12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.  13:13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.

Through Him they received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

John  1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.  1:30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.  1:31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.  1:32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.  1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

Through Him they are healthy  prospered and fulfilled.

Isaiah  53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Through Him they have answers to their prayers and their joy is full.

John  16:23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.  16:24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Through Him they have access to live eternally with God.

John 14:6. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

All of these earthly and eternal blessings are freely provided through Him.

Romans  8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

He alone is the way to everything you will ever need now and in the life beyond.

3. CONDITIONS FOR BENEFITING FROM THE BEST.

To access this very best, all you need is to welcome Him to your life as Lord and Savior and follow Him wholeheartedl everywhere, Everytime till  He comes.

Matthew  11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Luke  5:27 And after these things he went forth, and saw a publican, named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he said unto him, Follow me.  5:28 And he left all, rose up, and followed him.

But then it has  to be now, tomorrow is not guaranteed.

2 Corinthians  6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

Let us pray.
