Learning from Christ

Matthew  11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Every believers of all ages have something in common, learning from Christ.

If you will resolve to learn from Christ, then here your well-being is guaranteed and hereafter, your eternity with God is secured.

You have so much to learn from Him.

He lived a sanctified lifestyle that must be the example of all believers of all ages and that includes you.

John  17:19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

He left example for you to follow.

1 Peter  2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

Listen to some of the things to learn from Him.

He came to seek and save the lost.

Luke  19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Praying for sinners not to be lost

Luke  22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:  22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

He began His ministry with prayers and ended with praying.

Luke  3:21 Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,

Luke  22:41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,  22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.  22:43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.  22:44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

He forgive offenders.

Luke  23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

He did His Father’s will.

John  4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

John  6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

He was taught by the Father.

John  8:28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

He lived to please the Father at whatever cost.

John. 8:29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

Luke  3:22 And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

He did His Father’s work

John  9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

He kept the Father’s commandments.

John  10:17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.  10:18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

John  12:49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.  12:50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

John  14:31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

He finished His Father’s assignment.

John  17:4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

He lived a sanctified lifestyle.

John  17:19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

He lived the lifestyle of humility and obedience.

Philippians  2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:  2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:  2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:  2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

He endured the cross.

Hebrews  12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

He left example for all believers to follow.

1 Peter  2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:  2:22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:  2:23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:  2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Endeavor to learn from Christ and replicate His lifestyle for the world to see and bring them to His kingdom.

Matthew  11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

John  12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

Let us pray.
