Jesus’s exemplary lifestyle of doing God’s perfect will. ( Click here for more details. )

Jesus’s exemplary lifestyle of commitment to doing His Father’s perfect will.

John  6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

Beloved Brethren this word spoken by our Lord Jesus Christ was a true picture of what His earthly ministry consisted of.

From the outset of His ministry, till it was culminated on the cross and He gave up the ghost.

He was conscientiously committed to doing His Father’s perfect will.

Philippians  2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:  2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:  2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:  2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Even when the revealed will was  very very difficult. He still was committed to doing it.

Matthew  26:39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.  26:40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?  26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.  26:42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

Listen to what some other scriptures says about His determined conscientios commitment to doing His Father’s perfect will.

John  4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

John  5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

The blessed Holy Spirit also said some things about this exemplary lifestyle.

Romans  15:3 For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.

Hebrews  5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

Even before our Lord came there was a prophesy that when the expected Messiah comes, He will be committed to doing the perfect will of God.

Psalms  40:7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,  40:8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

To the glory of God, our Lord fulfill this prophecy in entirety.

Hebrews  10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.  10:8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;  10:9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

But then remember, He left this as an example for you to embrace and replicate as a lifestyle, knowing fully that His grace shall be sufficient for you in particular.

1 Peter  2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

1 Peter  2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

God’s grace will be sufficient for you in particular all through your life in Jesus mighty name.

2 Corinthians  9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

So continue to do this, if you have been doing it before. But if not, start from now and begin to do it, till our Lord Jesus Christ comes.

Let us pray.
