
Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | October 4, 2020 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. – Psalms 97:10.
Dearly beloved, one virtue that distinguish and characterise the lifestyle of believers of all ages , is their love for God.
1 John 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.
This love actually was initiated by the Lord. He loved us, when we were not loveable.
Romans 5:8. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Beloved, believers of all ages that must include you, usually validate their love for God by hating anything and everything God reveal in His words as evil.
Psalms 97:10. Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

The scriptures severally admonish believers like you that love the Lord to hate evil and to depart from everything that is evil.
Psalms 34:14. Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
Psalms 37:27 Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
Psalms 119:104 Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.
Proverbs 3:7. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
Proverbs 8:13. The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

Amos 5:15. Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
Romans 12:9. Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
1Th 5:21 — 1Th 5:22 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil.
3 John 1:11. Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
Beloved, we have examples of saints that validated their love for God, by separating themselves from evil.
1. Joseph.
Gen 39:7 — Gen 39:10 And it came to pass after these things, that his master’s wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me. But he refused, and said unto his master’s wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand; There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her.
2. Job.
Job 1:8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
Job 2:3 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.

3. Daniel
Daniel 1:8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself..

Dearly beloved, because you are going to live with God in heaven and enjoy His blessings on earth, you to must follow the good examples of these saints to validate your love for God, by hating and deporting from anything and everything the Bible reveals as evil and sinful.
When you do this , God promised to deliver you from temptations and bless you for loving righteousness.
2 Peter 2:9. The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
Psalms 5:12. For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
The good Lord shall help you in particular to be wise unto salvation in Jesus name.
