With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. – Psalms 119:10
Dearly beloved brethren, this request and burden of David the psalmist, must concern you too.
The beloved apostle Paul, while written to believers at Philipii, exhorted them to work out their salvation with fear and trembling.
Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
This burden of the psalmist revealed to every serious minded believer like you, that, their is no height you have attained in the kingdom, that you can not slip back to sin and backslide. This shall not be your portion in Jesus name.
No wonder, the blessed Holy Spirit admonish you.
1Co 10:11 — 1Co 10:12 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
See the burden of the psalmist again.
With my whole heart have I sought thee and worship you: O let me not wander from thy commandments. – Psalms 119:10
Beloved brethren, king David was the man after God’s heart. You remembered, he wandered away and fell into shameful sin of adultery and murder.
Apostle Judas was the most learned among the twelve disciples. He was the one keeping the fund of the ministry of our Lord, he wandered away, he began to steal and then betrayed our Lord for thirty pieces of silver.
Jn 12:4 — Jn 12:6 Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, which should betray him, Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor? This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.
Mat 26:14 — Mat 26:16 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.
With my whole heart have I sought thee and worship you: O let me not wander from thy commandments. – Psalms 119:10
You remembered Demas, the fellow labourer with Paul apostle, wandered away.
Phm 1:24 Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellowlabourers.
2Ti 4:10 For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.
Nicholas, also one of the seven appointed with Stephen and Philip went into outright apostasy. He orchestrated the doctrine of the Nicholaitans, that our Lord hated.
Acts 6:5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:
Rev 2:6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
Rev 2:15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.
With my whole heart have I sought thee and worship you: O let me not wander from thy commandments. – Psalms 119:10
Beloved brethren, see how the burden of king David in this passage, was amplified.
Amplification.
With my whole heart have I sought thee O let me not wander from thy commandments; ie “let me not accidentally and through ignorance stray from the right path.”
But then, the way out is to seek God with all your hear at all times in all things.
Psalms 119:2 Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart
Jeremiah 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
2 Chronicles 15:15 And all Judah rejoiced at the oath: for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them: and the LORD gave them rest round about.
2 Chronicles 15:2 And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.
1 Chronicles 28:9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
With my whole heart have I sought thee and worship you: O let me not wander from thy commandments. – Psalms 119:10
Beloved, see how seeking God with your whole heart was amplified.
With my whole heart have I sought thee –
.He must seek God, make earnest prayer and supplication to him for Divine light, for a tender conscience, and for strength to walk uprightly.
His whole heart; all his affections must be engaged here, or he cannot succeed. If he keep any affection for the idol or abomination; if his heart do not give it before the Lord, he may make many prayers, but God will answer none of them.
He must take care to keep in the path of duty, of abstinence and self-denial; not permitting either his eye, his hand, or his heart to wander from the commandments of his Maker
Always remember, ,our Father in heaven, promised that you shall not seek Him in vain.
Isaiah 45:19 I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.
With my whole heart have I sought thee and worship you: O let me not wander from thy commandments. – Psalms 119:10
See what you receive for seeking Him wholeheartedly, till Christ comes.
Proverbs 8:17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
Psalms 34:10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
All of these shall be your portion as you seek God with all your heart in all things and at all times in Jesus name.
With my whole heart have I sought thee and worship you: O let me not wander from thy commandments. – Psalms 119:10
