Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | June 24, 2020 | LESSONS FROM LEADERS IN THE BIBLE – NEHEMIAH | WALKING IN THE LAW OF GOD | And the rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, the porters, the singers, the Nethinims, and all they that had separated themselves from the people of the lands unto the law of God, their wives, their sons, and their daughters, every one having knowledge, and having understanding; They clave to their brethren, their nobles, and entered into a curse, and into an oath, to walk in God’s law, which was given by Moses the servant of God, and to observe and do all the commandments of the LORD our Lord, and his judgments and his statutes; And that we would not give our daughters unto the people of the land, nor take their daughters for our sons: And if the people of the land bring ware or any victuals on the sabbath day to sell, that we would not buy it of them on the sabbath, or on the holy day: and that we would leave the seventh year, and the exaction of every debt. – Nehemiah 10:28-31

Beloved I rejoice and celebrate you because of your noble decision to be a wise person at a time like this, when we are in the perilous time.

Brethren that are wise biblically, like you, live by two distinctive characteristics.

1. They live continually with eternity in view.

Deuteronomy 32:29 O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

2. They are addicted to hearing and doing the entirety of the sayings of Christ.

Mat 7:24 — Mat 7:25 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

Beloved, because you are part of the few wise people remaining in Christ Church, commit yourself determindly to be doing these two characteristics till Christ comes.

This becomes absolutely necessary, because they secure your earthly and eternal well-being and leads to your perfection.

Earthly and eternal well-being.

Jn 12:46 — Jn 12:48 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day

Perfection.

2Ti 3:16 — 2Ti 3:17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Both in the old and new testaments, the scriptures, affirms that saints of all ages and you in particular, should live by the entirety of the word of God in the Bible.

Rev 3:10 — Rev 3:11 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

In addition, under no circumstances should anyone or you add or remove from the word of God in the Bible.

Deu 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.

Pro 30:5 — Pro 30:6 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
Add thou not unto his words,
lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

Rev 22:18 — Rev 22:19 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

It was this commandment not to add or diminish from God’s words that made the Jews in the days of Nehemiah, to enter into covenant to live by the entirety of the law God gave to Moses the man of God.

You also should follow their noble and exemplary lifestyle.

No wonder, Jesus, the truth personified, who has been from eternity past, exhorted believers of all ages, especially you to follow this exemplary lifestyle of these Jews and live by the entirety of the word of God.

Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Also prior to His ascension He gave commandment that His church till He comes should be taught the entire word of God.

Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Only by doing this that the eternal well being of both the ministers and believers are secured.

1 Timothy 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

It is noteworthy that ministers in Bible days commited themselves to this non optional commandment of Christ.

Act 20:26 — Act 20:27 Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

Beloved, because you are wise, commit yourself too, to a lifestyle of living by the entirety of the word of God that you have been taught till Christ comes. The good Lord shall help you in particular in Jesus name.

Revelation 2:25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.
