TURNING TO GOD | KnowingJESUS Daily Devotional

August 27, 2019 – Enrich and Sustain your relationship with Jesus reading our daily devotional – TURNING AWAY FROM IDOLS TO SERVE THE LIVING GOD.

1 Thessalonians 1:9  For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;

Beloved, you must  determinedly  avoid the undoing of Lucifer,  former angel in heaven,  now satan,  destined for he’ll and eternal damnation.  You must determinedly avoid the undoing of Adam,  who lost the nature of God and the palatial garden.
You wonder while this happened to both satan and  Adam?  It was because either in the period of law or grace,  God remains intolerant to sin.  His eyes is to pure to behold it.

Habakkuk 1:13  Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?

See as far back as the time of Genesis in the old testament,  God demanded  perfection from Abraham.

Genesis 17:1  And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

God demanded from backsliden  Israel,  complete  turning away from sin,

2 Chronicles 7:14  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Beloved,  it takes total freedom  from sin to secure mercy from God.

Proverbs 28:13  He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

Because you are a very  wise person,  you must through the grace of God, attain a lifestyle of sinlessness.

Rom 6:1Rom 6:2   What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

This becomes a compulsion for you because of the following.  See them.
Sin ruins life.

Ezekiel 18:30  Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord God. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.

Sin bring sickness and death.

Psa 107:17Psa 107:18  Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted. Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.

Ezekiel 18:4  Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

Romans 6:23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Sin hinders good things from you here and at eternity.

Jeremiah 5:25  Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.

Sin separates you from God here and at eternity and makes your prayers unanswered.

Isa 59:1Isa 59:2  Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God,and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

Sin brings affliction upon you.

Psa 119:67 Before I was afflicted I went astray:but now have I kept thy word.

Sin gives license to Satan to attack you.

Ecc 10:8  He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.

No wonder you are commanded to be free totally from sin.

2 Timothy 2:19  Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Dearly beloved,  don’t be deluded by the deception and wilful licentious lifestyle of vast majority of those who profess religion globally.  Biblical salvation enables you to live a  sin free lifestyle.  See what this  scripture says.

1 John 2:1  My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

It says you should not sin. It is not an advise  but a commandment with consequence.  This was what Jesus demanded from all His followers,  during His earthly ministry.  It is also want is demanded  from believers of all ages and that includes you.

John 5:14  Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

John 8:11  She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

This is what it means to be born again Biblical.

John 3:3  Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Jesus”s  redemptive work on the cross has capabilities to make you free completely from sin.

John 8:36  If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Like God the Father,  demanded from Abraham and all the old testament saints, to be perfect.

Deut 18:13 Thou shalt be perfect with the Lord thy God.

Jesus also demanded from all believers in the period of grace to be perfect.

Matthew 5:48  Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

It was this perfection that enables freedom from sin,  that the apostles and disciples in Bible days preached to sinners.  They encouraged sinners to completely turned from sins,  when they were converted.  See it.

1 Thessalonians 1:9  For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;

See how several other scriptures affirmed it.

2 Corinthians 5:17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Romans 6:4   Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Rom 6:1Rom 6:2   What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Rom 6:12Rom 6:18  Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

2Ti 3:162Ti 3:17  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Heb 13:20Heb 13:21  Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Dearly beloved,  if you really claim to be born again,  you must be free from sin.  This alone is the guarantee that you shall have access to heaven or be part of the dawning rapture.  Don’t ever forget  this.

Revelation 21:27  And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Friend, praise God you are tirelessly preparing for the dawning rapture.  Your earnest desire shall be granted in Jesus name.  It shall not elude you in Jesus name. But you must understand who have ownership of you.
Some churchgoers belong to the devil. Why some belong to God. See it. Those who belong to the devil.

1 John 3:8  He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Those who belong to God.

1Jo 3:91Jo 3:10  Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

Pause a little and ponder on the scriptures above.  Where do you belong?  If you are still committing sin,  you belong to the devil. Repent immediately.
If you are free from sin,  then you belong to God. Remember this.
Sin removes your name from the book of life and send the person to the lake of fire,  missing the rapture.  You shall not miss it in Jesus name. So be free from sin.

Exodus 32:33  And the Lord said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

Revelation 20:15  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Sin will hinder anyone and everyone from accessing heaven or partaking in the rapture.

Revelation 21:27  And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Revelation 21:8  But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

So to validate your desire to be part of  he rapture, receive grace to be free from sin.

2 Corinthians 9:8  And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

Tit 2:11Tit 2:14 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
