Beloved, it is very easy for you in particular to guage your spiritual temperature.

The extent to which you have delight in God’s Words and you are using it to regulate your life in all things, as directed by our Lord Jesus Christ, to that extent is God important to you. See it yourself.

Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

This was the spiritual estate of king David at this particular moment.

God’s words were doing two things in his life. 1. Delight. 2. Counselor or final authority in all things. See it yourself.

Thy testimonies [ decrees and laws ] also are indeed my delight and my counsellors [ Your instructions give me pleasure ]. – Psalms 119:24

Psalms 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Psalms 119:16 I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

Psalms 119:47 And I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I have loved.

Psalms 119:70 Their heart is as fat as grease; but I delight in thy law.

Psalms 119:77 Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my delight.

Thy testimonies [ decrees and laws ] also are indeed my delight and my counsellors [ Your instructions give me pleasure ]. – Psalms 119:24

Dearly beloved, like king David, you in particular, must follow same course.

The Bible exhorts that Christ’s words should dwell in you richly.

Col 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

It further says the word of God should not depart from your mouth..

Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

In addition, the Bible says God’s words should be your necessary food.

Job 23:12 Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips;I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

More importantly, the word of God according to the Bible, should be lamp to your feet.

Psalms 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Proverbs 6:23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

And then finally, you should be keep it, to help you in particular, prepare adequately for the dawning rapture and avoid great tribulation.

Rev 3:10 — Rev 3:11 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

When this becomes your lifestyle, then , the word of God shall be cleansing you, hindering you from sinning against God and deliver great peace to you, till Christ comes.

1. Cleansing and hindering you from sin.

Psalms 119:9 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.

Psalms 119:10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.

Psalms 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

John 15:3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

Thy testimonies [ decrees and laws ] also are indeed my delight and my counsellors [ Your instructions give me pleasure ]. – Psalms 119:24

2. Sanctifies you and open heaven for you at last.

John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Great peace.

Psa 119:165 Great peace have they which love thy law:and nothing shall offend them.

All of these shall be yours as you too embrace God’s unfailing, unchanging and eternal words, like king David did, till Christ comes.
