Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.
Colossians 3:23-24 Haggai 1:2-9 Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the Lord’s house should be built. Then came the word of the Lord by Haggai the prophet, saying, Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste? Now therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways. Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes. Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways. Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the Lord. Ye looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the Lord of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house.
Beloved, the Worldling and nominal churchgoers of all ages and now are characterised to be carnally minded. They do not understand the things of the spirit.
1 Corinthians 2:14. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Romans 8:6-8. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
On the other hand those that are spiritually minded, do mind the things of the Spirit. Recount Moses was privileged to be the Pharaoh of Egypt in his days, but he declined to identify with the suffering Israelites believing and seeing the invisible God. He preferred the eternal blessings than the pleasure of sin, for a season.
Hebrews 11:24-27. By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
The Jews in the days of Haggai were carnally minded and they paid dearly for it. They neglected the building of the house of the Lord and were busy pursing their own pleasures.
However, they discovered they were labouring to prosper, but were failing, because God was working against them. See it and learn a very important lesson here.
Haggai 1:2-9 Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the Lord’s house should be built.
Haggai 1:10-11. Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from her fruit. And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands.
Beloved, how does this relate to you? Remember the last days are here with us. The rapture is dawning. The coming of the Lord draweth near.
2 Timothy 3:1. This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
Luke 21:28. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
Beware do not join the rat race of wealth acquisition and neglect the service of the Lord, which is the bane of the unbelievers and the Worldling.
You can still be blessed mightily by the Lord, and you shall be blessed mightily, only by serving the Lord. The Lord expects you to live daily yourself in readiness for His coming and be tirelessly engaged in getting others, especially those in your world of influence ready too.
WHEN YOU GIVE PRIORITY TO HIS SERVICE AND MAKE HIS BUSINESS YOUR BUSINESS. HE ALSO IN TURN WILL MAKE YOUR BUSINESS, HIS BUSINESS. AND GIVE YOU, BOTH, EARTHLY AND ETERNAL REWARDS.
This shall be your portion and heritage in Jesus name.
Exodus 23:25-26. And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.
Job 36:11. If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
Daniel 12:3. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
Beloved, when the Jews in the days of Haggai realised this and wholeheartedly laboured and built the house of the Lord, He blessed them. God shall do same for you too, as you engage in serving Him at this perilous time in Jesus name. See it.
Haggai 1:12-14. Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the Lord their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the Lord their God had sent him, and the people did fear before the Lord. Then spake Haggai the Lord’s messenger in the Lord’s message unto the people, saying, I am with you, saith the Lord. And the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the Lord of hosts, their God,
Haggai 2:18-19. Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the Lord’s temple was laid, consider it. Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you.
Beloved, see the example of Nehemiah who was a cupbearer to the king in the land of captivity. He had about the shameful state of Jerusalem and wept and determined to work in repairing the gates. See it.
Nehemiah 1:4-11. And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven, And said, I beseech thee, O Lord God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments: Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father’s house have sinned. We have dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which thou commandedst thy servant Moses. Remember, I beseech thee, the word that thou commandedst thy servant Moses, saying, If ye transgress, I will scatter you abroad among the nations: But if ye turn unto me, and keep my commandments, and do them; though there were of you cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from thence, and will bring them unto the place that I have chosen to set my name there. Now these are thy servants and thy people, whom thou hast redeemed by thy great power, and by thy strong hand. O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king’s cupbearer.
When Nehemiah resolved to serve God, his position was turned around from being a cupbearer in the land of captivity to becoming governor of Judah, God used the king to promote Him. see it. God will do same for you too. Make God’s business your business. Live in readiness for the coming of the Lord and prepare others ready too and you shall be mightily blessed here and hereafter in Jesus name.
Nehemiah 5:14. Moreover from the time that I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year even unto the two and thirtieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that is, twelve years, I and my brethren have not eaten the bread of the governor.
Please begin now to serve the Lord.
Ecclesiastes 9:10: Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest
Dearly beloved, it is shameful for many who professed to be believers not to understand the reality of this period. After satan was driven out of heaven, he knew his time was short and he was determined with his fiends to send multitude to eternal flame. He shall not send you there in Jesus name.
Revelation 12:12. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
Matthew 25:41. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
Very very unfortunately, the believers of all ages and you in particular, that should help in undoing these dastardly wicked activities of the devil, failed to understand that time in deed is short. Majority of believers are pursuing the ephemerals and neglecting the service of the Lord.
See what Jesus said.
John 4:34-38. Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together. And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth. I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.
1 Corinthians 7:29 But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none.

Because of this, earthly and eternal blessings became theirs.
Matthew 6:33: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Luke 19:15-19. And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds. And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities. And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds. And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.
2 Timothy 4:7-8. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

1 Peter 5:1-4. The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
YOU MUST NOT BE AN ONLOOKER AT THE MARRIAGE SUPPER. YOU SHALL NOT BE IN JESUS NAME, SO LABOR FOR THE LORD NOW.

Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.
2. They rejected the knowledge of God.
Job 21:13-15 They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave. Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways. What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?
