Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | October 15, 2020 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool – Psalms 110:1
Dearly beloved brethren, Jesus Christ our Lord has controversy with multitude of people in His universal church.
Truly, they received Him as Savior that died for their sins. However, they declined and refused Him as Lord through their attitude and lifestyle. No wonder Jesus bemoaned them and shall ultimately reject them, if they don’t repent.
Luke 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
Mat 7:21 — Mat 7:23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
The scriptures from both old and new testaments affirmed that Jesus Christ is Lord.
Psalms 110:1 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
Malachi 1:6 A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?
Act 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
Act 10:36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)
1Co 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
1Ti 6:14 — 1Ti 6:15 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
Jesus Christ our Lord Himself affirmed that He is Lord.
John 13:13-14 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.
Just like multitude in the universal church of Christ are rejecting the Lordship of our Lord over their lives, through their conduct and lifestyle, the Pharisees, the priests and the Sanhedrin, also vehemently through their attitude, rejected the
Lordship of our Lord Jesus Christ, over their lives.
Mat 22:41 — Mat 22:46 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David. He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? If David then call him Lord, how is he his son? And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.
Luke 19:14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.
Beloved, pause here and examine yourself. Are you too caught in this web? Are you doing what Jesus said? Does His word, have finality over your life? Your response should be affirmative yes, but if not. Then repent immediately and correct your ways and accept Jesus as Lord. This is because, the consequences of failure to do so, is eternal damnation, which shall not be your portion in Jesus name.
Luke 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
Luk 13:23 — Luk 13:27 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
