I have stuck, cling and cleave to your statutes and testimonies: O LORD, put me not to shame. – Psalms 119:31

Dearly beloved brethren always remember to follow what is good.

3Jo 1:11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.

1Th 5:15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

King David has chosen to remain faithful to God by doing away with every falsehood.

He was now very resolute to continue for a lifetime godly lifestyle, even though he was afraid of relapsing into the former ungodly attitude.

He consecrated himself as a living sacrifice, bounded on the altar of God.

I have stuck, cling and cleave to your statutes and testimonies: O LORD, put me not to shame. – Psalms 119:31
Psa 118:27 God is the Lord, which hath shewed us light:bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.
Rom 12:1 — Rom 12:2. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
I have stuck, cling and cleave to your statutes and testimonies: O LORD, put me not to shame. – Psalms 119:31

See king David’s consecration to God.

I have stuck, cling and cleave to your statutes and testimonies: O LORD, put me not to shame. – Psalms 119:31

Amplified. Bible.

Psalm 119:31 – I cleave to Your testimonies; O Lord, put me not to shame!

See the passage amplified.

I have stuck unto thy testimonies; or, “cleaved” (Psalms 119:25); ie kept firm and steadfast to them. The writer does not mean to assert sinlessness, but only sincerity of intention, and a general endeavor to do right. O Lord, put me not to shame. Suffer me not to fall from thee in such sort that I am put to an open shame

Beloved since you have discovered that, this kind of resolution, if done faithfully shall guarantee your living with God in eternity, so plug into it and remain their till Christ comes..

The grace of God shall keep you from falling, you need not entertain the fear of relapsing.

The good Lord shall help you in particular in Jesus name.

I have stuck to thy testimonies: O LORD, put me not to shame. – Psalms 119:31

LESSONS FROM PSALMS | I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me. – Psalms 119:30

Dearly beloved brethren, it is very very easy to differentiate between a believer and an unbeliever. It is not difficult to discover whether a person is a saint or sinner.

It is very easy to know who is walking on the narrow road, the way of holiness and the one who is walking on the broad road, the way of destruction.

How, then can you know all these? Simply by the choices such people are making.

A sinner will never choose to fear God or think about Him. He or she will never think about his or her eternal well being.

Proverbs 1:29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
Psa 10:4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God:God is not in all his thoughts.
John 3:19-21 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
LESSONS FROM PSALMS | I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me. – Psalms 119:30

But then on the contrary, the saint and the believer are always making godly choices and thinking about God and their eternal well being. See these saints.

Joshua

Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Mary.

Luk 10:38 — Luk 10:42 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

Saints in early church.

2 John 1:4 I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.

Pause here and place yourself, where you belong. What kind of choices are you making? Are you always thoughtful about your eternal well being? Your answer should be affirmative yes. But if not, something is deadly wrong.

See, in the previous verse, David resolved to do away with falsehood. So his choices are now godly and places right premium on God’s eternal, unchanging and unfailing words. See it.

LESSONS FROM PSALMS | I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me. – Psalms 119:30

Previous

I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me. – Psalms 119:30

Present.

Psalms 119:30 I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.

Amplified.

Psalm 119:30 I have chosen the way of truth and faithfulness; Your ordinances have I set before me.
Psalms 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
Psalms 119:111 Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart.
Psalms 119:173 Let thine hand help me; for I have chosen thy precepts.

See this passage Amplified.

I have chosen the way of truth. The converse of “the way of lying” (Psalms 119:29), the path of true religion, of faithfulness and steadfastness to God. Thy judgments have I laid before me. Thy commandments have I set before my eyes as rules to be observed constantly.

So David did: I have chosen the way of truth. Note, 1. The way of serious godliness is the way of truth; the principles it is founded on are principles of eternal truth, and it is the only true way to happiness. 2. We must choose to walk in this way, not because we know no other way, but because we know no better; nay we know no other safe and good way. Let us choose that way for our way, which we will walk in, though it be narrow.

II. That those who have chosen the way of truth must have a constant regard to the word of God as the rule of their walking: Thy judgments have I laid before me,

Beloved, follow this exemplary lifestyle of David at this time. It is noteworthy.

May the good Lord find you faithfil in Jesus name.

My soul melteth for heaviness [ sadness and weary with sorrow ]: strengthen thou me according unto thy word. – Psalms 119:28

Dearly beloved brethren, glory to God that you are one of the members of the household of the Lord. It is a great privilege, keep it till Christ comes.

But then, because you are a member of the household of faith, you must determindly seek knowledge that made members of God’s family, to be peculiar and indefatigable, like king David and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Beloved, see what godly knowledge shall do in your life and in all circumstances.

Pro 11:9 An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour:but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.

Knowledge of knowing what to do in all situations is potent power. See the following.

My soul melteth for heaviness [ sadness and weary with sorrow ]: strengthen thou me according unto thy word. – Psalms 119:28

Children of Issachar

1Ch 12:32 And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.

Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jn 6:5 — Jn 6:6 When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat? And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.

Beloved at this point in king David’s life, he was going through stressful challenges. However, he knew what to do, to come out of them. See it.

My soul melteth for heaviness [ sadness and weary with sorrow ]: strengthen thou me according unto thy word. – Psalms 119:28

Beloved brethren, anytime you are going through any challenges or difficulties, God’s unfailing promises in the Bible are your sure succour to turn the challenges to testimonies.

This was what king David was doing. Reminding God of his unfailing promises to bring him out of the challenges. See some of them.

Psalm 119:49 Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope.
My soul melteth for heaviness [ sadness and weary with sorrow ]: strengthen thou me according unto thy word. – Psalms 119:28
Psalm 119:41 Let thy mercies come also unto me, O LORD, even thy salvation, according to thy word.
Psalm 119:58 I intreated thy favour with my whole heart: be merciful unto me according to thy word.
Psalm 119:76 Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant.

So beloved , begin to do what king David was doing at this time in his life, hold unto God’s unfailing promises and He shall put a new song to your mouth in Jesus name.

Make me to understand the way of thy precepts [ your commandments ]: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works – Psalms 119:27

Dearly beloved brethren, we discover noteworthy things from king David in Psalm 119.

He craved to make wondrous things of God, known to others. See it yourself.

Make me to understand the way of thy precepts [ your commandments ]: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works – Psalms 119:27
Psalms 145:5-6 I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works. And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and I will declare thy greatness.
Psalms 92:5 O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.

But then this would be possible, as God gives him, more understanding of His eternal words.

Psalms 119:18 Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.

This desire of king David, was what our Lord Jesus Christ, promised all Bible believing believers and you in particular. See it.

Luk 21:15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
Jn 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
Make me to understand the way of thy precepts [ your commandments ]: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works – Psalms 119:27

This was what happened to Peter and others after Pentecost. See these.

Peter.

Act 4:8 — Act 4:13 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole; Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

Stephen.

Act 6:8 — Act 6:15 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people. Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen. And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake. Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against God. And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council, And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law: For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us. And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.

Beloved, you too shall make known wondrous things of God, known to others as you cultivate and sustain a closer fellowship with the blessed Holy Spirit, who reveals deep things of God you.

1Co 2:9 — 1Co 2:12 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

Go and do likewise.

Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | November 18, 2020 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me

I have declared my ways, [ I gave an account of my ways ] and thou heardest me : teach me thy statutes, decrees. - Psalms 119:26
I have declared my ways, [ I gave an account of my ways ] and thou heardest me : teach me thy statutes, decrees. - Psalms 119:26

Psa 119:26 I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me: teach me thy statutes Psa 119:135 Make thy face to shine upon thy servant; and teach me thy statutes .

I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me [ I gave an account of my ways and you answered me;] : teach me thy statutes, decrees. – Psalms 119:26

Beloved, glory to God, our loving Father in heaven, for the deep and useful revelations, His Spirit is unfolding to believers of all ages especially you, from Psalm 119.

King David was a man after the heart of God.

1Sa 13:14 But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the Lord hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the Lord hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the Lord commanded thee.
Act 13:22 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.

He took advantage of his intimacy with God, to always pour his heart to Him, knowing fully, that, he would be heard. See it.

I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me [ I gave an account of my ways and you answered me;] : teach me thy statutes, decrees. – Psalms 119:26

But then, in spite of this enviable privileges, he never took God for granted. He longs to be taught God’s statues, which helped him to sustain and strengthened the relationship.

Psalms 119:33 Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end.
Psalms 25:9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
Psalms 25:12 What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
Psalms 25:14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him;
and he will shew them his covenant.
I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me [ I gave an account of my ways and you answered me;] : teach me thy statutes, decrees. – Psalms 119:26

Dearly beloved, the good news is that, you are not in anyway inferior to king David.

This is because, you have God, not only as your God, but also as your Father, through the redemptive work of Christ.

Jn 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

No wonder, see the paternal love between you and God, your Father, that provides you with same intimacy, king David enjoyed. See it yourself.

1Jo 3:1 — 1Jo 3:2 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

So like king David, cultivate, your intimate relationship with Him and sustain and strengthened it, through your willingness to be taught by Him.

Isa 48:17 — Isa 48:18 Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit,
which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go. O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:

The good Lord shall help you in particular in Jesus name. See how this passage was amplified.

I have declared thy ways, and thou heardest me; ie “I have opened my griefs to thee, O God, and poured forth my heart before thee. I am confident that thou didst listen to me” Teach me thy statutes. That I may show my gratitude by keeping them

So go and do likewise.

Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | November 17, 2020 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | Quicken thou me according to thy word.

My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken [ revive, preserve, give me life ] thou me according to thy word. - Psalms  119:25
My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken [ revive, preserve, give me life ] thou me according to thy word. - Psalms  119:25

My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken [ revive, preserve, give me life ] thou me according to thy word. – Psalms  119:25

Dearly beloved brethren, king David again from his spiritual estate at this time, reveal to saints and believers of all ages and you in particular, what to do, when you sense that you are having spiritual dryness.

When you find yourself dull , you must go to God and beg of him to quicken and revive you.

My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken [ revive, preserve, give me life ] thou me according to thy word. – Psalms  119:25
Psalms 22:15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.
Psalms 44:25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth.

Psa 85:6 Wilt thou not revive us again:that thy people may rejoice in thee?

Psa 138:7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me:thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.

Isaiah 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
Hosea 6:2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.
Hab 3:2 O Lord, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid:O Lord, revive thy work in the midst of the years,in the midst of the years make known;in wrath remember mercy.
My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken [ revive, preserve, give me life ] thou me according to thy word. – Psalms  119:25

In addition, he revealed to us one unfailing biblical instrument of revival, which is the eternal word of God. King David had an eye to God’s word as a means of quickening (for the words which God speaks, they are spirit and they are life to those that receive them), and as an encouragement to hope that God would quicken him, having promised grace and comfort to all the saints, and to David in particular. God’s word must be our guide and plea in every prayer.
Psalms 143:11 Quicken me, O LORD, for thy name’s sake: for thy righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble.

Psalms 119:37 Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way. 119:40 Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy righteousness.
Psalms 119:88 Quicken me after thy lovingkindness; so shall I keep the testimony of thy mouth.
Psalm 119:93 I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me.
Psalm 119:107 I am afflicted very much: quicken me, O LORD, according unto thy word.
Psalm 119:149 Hear my voice according unto thy lovingkindness: O LORD, quicken me according to thy judgment.
Psalm 119:154 Plead my cause, and deliver me: quicken me according to thy word.
My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken [ revive, preserve, give me life ] thou me according to thy word. – Psalms  119:25
Psalms 119:159 Consider how I love thy precepts: quicken me, O LORD, according to thy lovingkindness.
Psalms 71:20 Thou, which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth.
Psalms 80:18-19 So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name. Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

So what are you waiting for? Reach out to God in prayer and meditation of His unfailing unchanging and eternal word and you also shall be quicken and be revived in Jesus name.

Psalms 119:161 Princes have persecuted me without a cause: but my heart standeth in awe of thy word.

See an instance , when Doeg, added to the pains of David.

1Sa 22:6 — 1Sa 22:10 When Saul heard that David was discovered, and the men that were with him, (now Saul abode in Gibeah under a tree in Ramah, having his spear in his hand, and all his servants were standing about him;) Then Saul said unto his servants that stood about him, Hear now, ye Benjamites; will the son of Jesse give every one of you fields and vineyards, and make you all captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds; That all of you have conspired against me, and there is none that sheweth me that my son hath made a league with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you that is sorry for me, or sheweth unto me that my son hath stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day? Then answered Doeg the Edomite, which was set over the servants of Saul, and said, I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub. And he enquired of the LORD for him, and gave him victuals, and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine.

But then, David never recompensed evil for evil.

Romans 12:17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
Princes also did sit and speak against me  [ slander and say bad things ]: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes. – Psalms 119:23

Beloved as it happened to David, so it happened to our Lord Jesus Christ, during His passion.

1 Corinthians 2:8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

See what happened to our Lord, how Pilate and Herod, became friends in crucifying our Lord.

Luk 23:1 — Luk 23:12 And the whole multitude of them arose, and led him unto Pilate. And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying that he himself is Christ a King. And Pilate asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answered him and said, Thou sayest it. Then said Pilate to the chief priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man. And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout all Jewry, beginning from Galilee to this place. When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man were a Galilaean. And as soon as he knew that he belonged unto Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who himself also was at Jerusalem at that time. And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him. Then he questioned with him in many words; but he answered him nothing. And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused him. And Herod with his men of war set him at nought, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate. And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together: for before they were at enmity between themselves.
Princes also did sit and speak against me [ slander and say bad things ]: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes. – Psalms 119:23

Beloved, see how this same passage was amplified.

Princes also did sit and speak against me. The great of the earth too often take part against the righteous, and join in persecuting them and calumniating them But thy servant did meditate in thy statutes; ie. I took no heed of their calumnies—they did not trouble me. I gave myself to meditation on thy commandments.

Dearly beloved, when you discover people you least expect, join in doing you evil. Do what Jesus our Lord did

1Pe 2:21 — 1Pe 2:23 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

God’s grace was available to David and our Lord Jesus Christ, it shall be available for you too in Jesus name.

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
Princes also did sit and speak against me [ slander and say bad things ]: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes. – Psalms 119:23

Remove from me [ take away ] reproach, scorn, insults and contempt; for I have kept thy testimonies. – Psalms 119:22

Dearly beloved brethren, this is the Crux of the matter in Christendom. This is one major reason why many who profess religion, find it difficult to obey God.

Apart from the difficulties and afflictions that comes the way of God’s faithfil believers, this is one challenge, that grace of God, helps you to do.

Many times, obeying the word of God, brings you to ridicle, reproach and shame. This was the challenge, before king David. See it

Remove from me [ take away ] reproach, scorn, insults and contempt; for I have kept thy testimonies. – Psalms 119:22

Jesus Christ our Lord suffered ridicle and shame. See it.

Isaiah 50:6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.
Isaiah 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Matthew 11:19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.
Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Beloved, our Lord informed all believers of all ages especially you, that, obeying Him, implicitly shall cause you, ridicle and shame.

Mat 5:11 — Mat 5:12 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
Jn 16:1 — Jn 16:2 These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.
Remove from me [ take away ] reproach, scorn, insults and contempt; for I have kept thy testimonies. – Psalms 119:22

The blessed Holy Spirit says, obeying God’s Words will sometimes bring you into unavoidable reproach.

Psalms 44:22 Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.
Rom 8:35 — Rom 8:36 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
2 Corinthians 4:11 For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
Remove from me [ take away ] reproach, scorn, insults and contempt; for I have kept thy testimonies. – Psalms 119:22

But then, God’s grace was sufficient for Paul apostle, it will be sufficient for you too..

2Co 12:9 — 2Co 12:10 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

If you are presently being reproached for the name of Christ, reach out to Him for succour and help at the throne of grace and He will strengthen you.

Remove from me [ take away ] reproach, scorn, insults and contempt; for I have kept thy testimonies. – Psalms 119:22

Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | November 13, 2020 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed

Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err [ who wander ] from thy commandments. - Psalms 119:21

Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err [ who wander ] from thy commandments. – Psalms 119:21

Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err [ who wander ] from thy commandments. – Psalms 119:21

Dearly beloved brethren, the Bible is full of blessings and curses and all are God’s unfailing unchanging and eternal words, that have eternal consequences.

We are commanded not to add or remove from the entirety of God’s word in the Bible. See it yourself both in the old and new testaments.

Deuteronomy 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
Rev 22:18 — Rev 22:19 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Beloved, both in the old and new testaments, and even from the mouth of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible says, some people inside and outside of the church are cursed and shall be damned. See it yourself.

Proverbs 3:33 The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.
Isaiah 3:11 Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.
Matthew 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
Luke 11:52 Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.
Matthew 23:33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err [ who wander ] from thy commandments. – Psalms 119:21

So king David through the blessed Holy Spirit, revealed to us, that some group of people in addition to those that our Lord reveals are cursed. You shall not be cursed in Jesus name. You shall not be damned in the name of Jesus.

But then, who are these people according to king David? See it yourself.

Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err [ who wander ] from thy commandments. – Psalms 119:21
James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
1 Peter 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
Psalms 138:6 Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.
Daniel 4:37 Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.

The blessed Holy Spirit through king David said, the proud are those who violates the commandments of the Lord.

It was not only king David that said so,. See others in both old and new testaments.

Deuteronomy 27:26 Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen.
Jn 7:49 But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.
Gal 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err [ who wander ] from thy commandments. – Psalms 119:21

Beloved, pause and be very sincere to yourself. Are you a proud person? Are you violating the commandments of God? Your response should be affirmative no.

But , just in case you are, reach out to Calvary and repent, before it is too late.

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Isaiah 55:6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

May the good Lord help you in particular to be wise unto salvation in Jesus name.

Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err [ who wander ] from thy commandments. – Psalms 119:21

Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | November 12, 2020 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | My soul breaketh for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments

My soul breaketh [ is consumed ] for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments [ your ordinances ] at all times. - Psalms 119:20
My soul breaketh [ is consumed ] for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments [ your ordinances ] at all times. - Psalms 119:20

My soul breaketh [ is consumed ] for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments [ your ordinances ] at all times. – Psalms 119:20

My soul breaketh [ is consumed ] for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments [ your ordinances ] at all times. – Psalms 119:20

Dearly beloved brethren, the wonderful revelation from this passage in the life of king David, provides great help for Bible believing believers like you. See the passage again.

In the previous passage, king David discovered, he was a stranger and a sojourner on this side of heaven, like his progenitors.

He besought God to reveal to him, the requisites for living with Him in eternity.

God had responded and king David, discovered , he would need the grace of God to do , the knowledge, God had revealed to him.

Psa 24:3 — Psa 24:4 Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
My soul breaketh [ is consumed ] for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments [ your ordinances ] at all times. – Psalms 119:20

Beloved, take a cue from this passage. Without Christ and His grace , you can do nothing. But with Him and His grace, you can do all things.

John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
My soul breaketh [ is consumed ] for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments [ your ordinances ] at all times. – Psalms 119:20

Beloved, see others in Bible days, that had similar challenges, confronting king David in this passage. So always look up to Jesus for succour.

Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 2:18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

See those who received His succour and were triumphant. You also shall be triumphant, as you do, what they did.

1. The disciples of our Lord Jesus.

Luk 17:3 — Luk 17:5 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him. And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
Mat 19:7 — Mat 19:12 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery. His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry. But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given. For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

2. The man whose son was severely attacked by the devil.

Mar 9:21 — Mar 9:24 And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child. And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us. Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
My soul breaketh [ is consumed ] for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments [ your ordinances ] at all times. – Psalms 119:20

3. Paul apostle prior to his conversion.

Rom 7:21 — Rom 7:25 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

God’s grace is sufficient for you to be obedient unto God. So reach out to Him , to help you in particular.

The good Lord shall help you in particular in Jesus name.

My soul breaketh [ is consumed ] for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments [ your ordinances ] at all times. – Psalms 119:20
