Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: but I will meditate in thy precepts, word. - Psalms 119:78
Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: but I will meditate in thy precepts, word. - Psalms 119:78

Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: but I will meditate in thy precepts, word. – Psalms 119:78

Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: but I will meditate in thy precepts, word and laws. – Psalms 119:78

Dearly beloved, there was something our Master said, the world , would do to Him.

He would be hated and persecuted for no cause.

But then, He went further to say, that, the same way , the world hated Him, without a cause, His trustworthy followers like you shall suffer the same cause. See it yourself.

Jn 15:17 — Jn 15:25 These things I command you, that ye love one another. If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. He that hateth me hateth my Father also. If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

Glory to God, He left us exemplary lifestyle of what He did to those who hated Him, without a cause.

1Pe 2:21 — 1Pe 2:23 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: but I will meditate in thy precepts, word and laws. – Psalms 119:78

It was this same attitude of our Lord Jesus Christ, king David was resolved , to do, to those who are persecuting him without a cause.

He wanted God to justify him. See it.

Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: but I will meditate in thy precepts, word and laws. – Psalms 119:78

Beloved the Bible says, you too shall experience same. So don’t be surprised when it happens.

1Jo 3:13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

The scriptures also reveals what your attitude should be to those persecuting you without a cause. See it yourself.

Rom 12:17 — Rom 12:21 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

The grace of God will be sufficient for you to do so till Christ comes.

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: but I will meditate in thy precepts, word and laws. – Psalms 119:78

Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | January 8, 2021 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | Let thy tender mercies come unto me

Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law [ rules, decrees and regulations ] is my delight. - Psalms 119:77
Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law [ rules, decrees and regulations ] is my delight. - Psalms 119:77

Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law [ rules, decrees and regulations ] is my delight. – Psalms 119:77

Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law [ rules, decrees and regulations ] is my delight. – Psalms 119:77

Dearly beloved brethren, praise the Lord, we have a glorious and gracious Redeemer and Savior, who left us exemplary lifestyle of what to do in every situation in our lives.

1 Peter 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Beloved recount, during the deepest woes of our Lord, He remained righteous and holy He sought for assistance from heaven and when it was not forthcoming, He commited His soul into the hands of our ever caring and loving Father. See it yourself.

Mat 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
Luke 23:46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law [ rules, decrees and regulations ] is my delight. – Psalms 119:77

In the same token, when the travails of Job, got to the peak, he never charged God foolishly.

Job 1:22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.
Job 2:9 -10 Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

Habakkuk had a similar experience and he was calmed and still rejoice in our compassionate Father.

Habakkuk 3:16-19 When I heard, my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the voice: rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in myself, that I might rest in the day of trouble: when he cometh up unto the people, he will invade them with his troops. Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.
Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law [ rules, decrees and regulations ] is my delight. – Psalms 119:77

This was the plight of king David. His challenges had exposed his life to be threatened . He then desperately sought the mercies of God, while leaning on God in implicit obedience. See it yourself.

Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law [ rules, decrees and regulations ] is my delight. – Psalms 119:77

See this same passage in other Bible versions.

NLT
Psalms 119:77 – ]Surround me with your tender mercies so I may live, for your instructions are my delight.

AMP BIBLE
Psalm 119:77 ]Let Your tender mercy and loving-kindness come to me that I may live, for Your law is my delight!

And see same passage amplified.

Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live. The psalmist’s afflictions have brought him near to the gates of death. God must visit him with his “tender mercies” for him once more to “live” For thy Law is my delight. His renewed life will be an exercising of himself in God’s Law, since that Law is his “delight”

King David kept on delighting in the law of the Lord in the highest height of his afflictions, because of the promises of God to alleviate his sufferings.

Psalms 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Psalms 40:1-3 I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
Psalms 119:16 I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.
Psalms119:24 Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors.
Psalms 119:47 And I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I have loved.
Psalms 119:111 Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart.
Psalms 119:174 I have longed for thy salvation, O LORD; and thy law is my delight.
Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law [ rules, decrees and regulations ] is my delight. – Psalms 119:77

Beloved brethren don’t ever forget. Whatever is the severity of your challenges, never charge God foolishly. Never backslide. Never seek the help of satan.

But patiently wait for His timely all sufficient intervention. It shall be well with you in particular in Jesus name..

Hebrews 10:35-39 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law [ rules, decrees and regulations ] is my delight. – Psalms 119:77

Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant. Psalms 119:76

Beloved brethren, our Lord Jesus Christ did something marvelous, after His resurrection. See it yourself.

Mark 16:6-7 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.

During His passion, Peter denied Him three times, but genuinely repented afterwards.

So when our Master rose from the grave, He sent a message to Peter through the angel, Mary Magdalene and others met at the grave, where He was buried.

Not only that, He appeared to Peter personally, to assure him, that, he has been pardoned.

Luke 24:34 Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.
Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant. Psalms 119:76

This gracious attitude brought so much comfort to Peter that he has been fully reconciled with our Lord.

It was this kind of assurance king David was praying for, having been afflicted and pardoned, because of his sins. See it.

Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant. Psalms 119:76

See the account of his punishment and pardon.

2 Samuel 12:10-14 Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife. Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun. For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun. And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die. Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.

See same prayer in other psalms .

Psalms 90:15 Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil.
Psalms 119:41 Let thy mercies come also unto me, O LORD, even thy salvation, according to thy word.
Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant. Psalms 119:76

See this same passage amplified.

Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort .After affliction man feels the need of “comfort,” and longs for some manifestation of the Divine “kindness” According to thy Word unto thy servant. According to the general tenor of thy promises

Beloved brethren, be rest assured that when you discover you have done something wrong and you genuinely repented and follow it up with restitutions, if necessary. Then you can be sure that the sin has been remitted, you are now justified and the mercies and comfort of God shall be fully restored back to you.

Ignore any feeling of guilt or condemnation of the devil.

Romans 5:1-2 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

It is well with you in particular in Jesus name.

Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant. Psalms 119:76

Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | January 6, 2021 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | I know, O LORD, that thy judgments are right

I know, O LORD, that thy judgments, laws and regulations are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me. - Psalms 119:75
I know, O LORD, that thy judgments, laws and regulations are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me. - Psalms 119:75

I know, O LORD, that thy judgments, laws and regulations are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me. – Psalms 119:75

I know, O LORD, that thy judgments, laws and regulations are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me. – Psalms 119:75

Beloved, always remember, God has no sacred cow, that is exempted from implicit obedience to Him. He is no respecter of person’s. He does not tolerate sin from anyone.

Hab 1:13 Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity:wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?

You will recount that Moses did not get to the promised Land on account of not heeding instructions of the Lord.

You will remember apostle Judas, king Saul , Annanias and Saphira and host of others are in hell , right now on account of sin and disobedience.

God our loving Father in heaven, is no respecter of person’s.

Acts 10:34-35 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
Romans 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
Deuteronomy 10:17 For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:
2 Chronicles 19:7 Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.
Ephesians 6:9 And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.
Colossians 3:25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.
I know, O LORD, that thy judgments, laws and regulations are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me. – Psalms 119:75

He will chastise anyone and everyone that sinned against Him.

Heb 12:5 — Heb 12:11 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

This was the plight of king David, a man after God’s heart. When he sinned, he was severely punished. See it yourself.

2Sa 11:27 And when the mourning was past, David sent and fetched her to his house, and she became his wife, and bare him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the Lord.
2 Samuel 12:10-12 Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife.
I know, O LORD, that thy judgments, laws and regulations are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me. – Psalms 119:75

King David was justly punished by God for his sins. .

Psalms 119:75 I know, O LORD, that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me.
Psalms 119:67 Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.
Psalms119:68 Thou art good, and doest good; teach me thy statutes.
Psalms119:71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.

See this same passage in other Bible versions.

NLT
Psalms 119:75b I know, O lord, that your regulations are fair; you disciplined me because I needed it.

AMP BIBLE
Psalm 119:75 I know, O Lord, that Your judgments are right and righteous, and that in faithfulness You have afflicted me. [Heb. 12:10.]

I know, O LORD, that thy judgments, laws and regulations are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me. – Psalms 119:75

Beloved learn a great lesson from the avoidable sin of king David and avoid just recompense of God on disobedience.

See the resolutions of Job and apostle Paul and avoid the shameful mistake of king David.

Job 31:1 I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?
1 Corinthians 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Whatever you are doing for God, obedience to God is paramount and compulsory.

Song of Solomon 1:6 Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother’s children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept

May the good Lord help you in particular to be wise unto salvation in Jesus name.\

They that fear thee will be glad [ rejoice and be full of happiness ] when they see me; because I have hoped in thy word. – Psalms 119:74

Dearly beloved, Bible believing believers like you, has a word of comfort from this verse of the Bible, as it relates to king David.

It is true and biblically established, that, the saints can fall into challenges, seemingly inexplanable conflicts, not sin.

But then, because of their continual allegiance to God, He would reach out to bring them out of the challenges. See these.

Pro 24:16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again:but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
Psalms 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
Psalms 37:24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.
Psalms 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
Psalms 37:37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.
They that fear thee will be glad [ rejoice and be full of happiness ] when they see me; because I have hoped in thy word. – Psalms 119:74

This was the situation of king David at this point in time. He was going through difficulties, but he held tenaciously to the Lord, to bring him out and He did. See it yourself.

They that fear thee will be glad [ rejoice and be full of happiness ] when they see me; because I have hoped in thy word. – Psalms 119:74

See it in other Bible versions.

NLT
Psalms 119:74 May all who fear you find in me a cause for joy, for I have put my hope in your word.

AMP BIBLE
Psalm 119:74 Those who reverently and worshipfully fear You will see me and be glad, because I have hoped in Your word and tarried for it.

See it amplified.

They that fear thee will be glad when they see me; literally, will see me and be glad. I shall be a fresh proof to them that God does not forsake his servants. Because I have hoped in thy Word. I have not fallen from grace—I have continued to trust in thy promises.

Beloved, it could be you are presently going through a conflict inexplanable. Hold on to God’s words in implicit obedience and you shall soon experience the promised deliverance like king David in Jesus name.

1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | January 4, 2021 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | Thy hands have made me and fashioned me

Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments, decrees and laws. - Psalms 119:73
Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments, decrees and laws. - Psalms 119:73

Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments, decrees and laws. – Psalms 119:73

Beloved this new year that God had brought you, use this unique opportunity, He has given you to be more acquainted with Him.

Others in the time past have failed to take advantage of the unique privileges, God gave them and they lost their unique opportunities. One of such people were Adam and Eve

They were fearfully created in the nature of God and placed in the garden of affluence, having the privilege of God, coming to have fellowship with them.

Very very unfortunately, they yielded to sin and disobedience and lost all the privileges and even driven out of the garden of affluence. See what the scriptures says.

1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

King David, also having been privileged to attain some unique positions through God, did not want to fall a victim of what happened to Adam and Eve. This was what informed this prayer. See it yourself.

Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments, decrees and laws. – Psalms 119:73

See it in other Bible versions.

NLT
Psalms 119:73 You made me; you created me. Now give me the sense to follow your commands.

AMP BIBLE
Psalm 119:73 Your hands have made me, cunningly fashioned and established me; give me understanding, that I may learn Your commandments.

See it amplified.

Here, 1. David adores God as the God of nature and the author of his being: Thy hands have made me and fashioned me, Every man is as truly the work of God’s hands as the first man was, “Thy hands have not only made me, and given me a being, otherwise I should never have been, but fashioned me, and given me this being, this noble and excellent being, endued with these powers and faculties;” and we must own that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. 2. He addresses himself to God as the God of grace, and begs he will be the author of his new and better being. God made us to serve him and enjoy him; but by sin we have made ourselves unable for his service and indisposed for the enjoyment of him; and we must have a new and divine nature, otherwise we had the human nature in vain; therefore David prays, “Lord, since thou hast made me by thy power for thy glory, make me anew by thy grace, that I may answer the ends of my creation and live to some purpose: Give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments. ” The way in which God recovers and secures his interest in men is by giving them an understanding; for by that door he enters into the soul and gains possession of it.

King David acknowledged his creation and making through God. See these.

Psalms 100:3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Psalms 138:8 The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.
Psa 139:14 — Psa 139:16 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee,when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect;
and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

Beloved you also must continually acknowledge your creation and accomplishments through God and in appreciation, serve Him in holiness and righteousness, so as no to fall into the undoing of Adam and Eve. It shall not be so in Jesus name.

The good Lord shall help you in particular to be wise unto salvation in Jesus name.

Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments, decrees and laws. – Psalms 119:73

Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | January 3, 2021 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver

The law of thy mouth is better [ valuable, precious and goodly ] unto me than thousands of gold and silver. - Psalms 119:72

The law of thy mouth is better [ valuable, precious ] unto me than thousands of gold and silver. – Psalms 119:72

Beloved brethren, God your loving Father in heaven has made you wise. Do everything to remain wise, till you meet Him at eternity to live with Him.

One major way to be biblically wise and sustain it, is to be addicted to doing the sayings of our Master and Lord.

Matthew 7:24 -25 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

Our Lord said to all Bible believing believers and you in particular, that, the most needful thing on this side of heaven, is the word of God. See it yourself.

Luke 10:38-42 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
The law of thy mouth is better [ valuable, precious ] unto me than thousands of gold and silver. – Psalms 119:72

Even in both the old and new testaments Bible days saints of God, gave preeminence to God’s unfailing, unchanging and eternal words. See some of them.

1. Job

Job 23:12 Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
Job 22:22 Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.

King David.

Psalms 19:9-10 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Psalms 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
Psalms 119:72 The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver.
Psalms 119:103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Psalms 119:127 Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold.

3. Jeremiah.

Jeremiah 15:16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.

4. Apostle Peter.

1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
1Pe 1:23 — 1Pe 1:25 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
The law of thy mouth is better [ valuable, precious ] unto me than thousands of gold and silver. – Psalms 119:72

No marvel king David in this passage of the Bible made a wise choice that guaranteed his earthly and eternal fortunes. He gave preference to God’s words above gold and silver. See it yourself.

The law of thy mouth is better [ valuable, precious ] unto me than thousands of gold and silver. – Psalms 119:72

See this same passage in other versions of the Bible.

NLT
Psalms 119:72 Your instructions are more valuable to me than millions in gold and silver.

AMP BIBLE
Psalm 119:72 The law from Your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver pieces.

See it amplified.

The Law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver; ie. I value it more than any amount of earthly riches.

Beloved, like the Bible days saints and according to the wise saying of our Lord Jesus Christ, make this biblical stance your own resolute and unchanging determined decision in this new year, 2021.

That you shall make God’s unfailing unchanging and eternal words, your most needful thing and you shall chose obeying God’s word, more than acquisition of any ephemeral, no matter the gains you might derive.

May the good Lord help you in particular to be wise unto salvation in Jesus name

Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | January 2, 2021 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes

It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes [ pay attention to your decrees ]. - Psalms 119:71

It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes [ pay attention to your decrees ]. – Psalms 119:71

Dearly beloved brethren, now that our loving Father in heaven, has brought us to this new year, He will commence in earnest, His purpose for bringing us to this glorious year.

One major thing that God will like to accomplish in the lives of all Bible believing believers, is to conform them to the image of His dear Son, in the person of our Lord Jesus Christ. See it.

Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

But then in doing this, He might engage some methods, expedient for us, but might bring us into some situations we don’t seem to understand. . See what the scriptures says

Isa 48:10 Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver;I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.
Malachi 3:2-3 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap: And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.
Hebrews 12:10-11 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
1 Peter 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes [ pay attention to your decrees ]. – Psalms 119:71

Beloved the scriptures says two things, while this refining is going on in the lives of the believers and yours in particular .

1. Even though you do not understand the reason for this inconvent situation,. It is working for your earthly and eternal well being.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

2. By the time God would be through, you will possess the nature of Christ, that guarantees your blissful eternity with Him.

Job 23:10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

The good Lord shall help you to go through the process triumphantly in Jesus name.

This was the plight of king David also, as revealed in this verse of the Bible. See it yourself.

It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes [ pay attention to your decrees ]. – Psalms 119:71

Beloved, see this same passage in another version.

NLT
Psalms 119:71 My suffering was good for me, for it taught me to pay attention to your decrees.

See it amplified.

See here, 1. That it has been the lot of the best saints to be afflicted. The proud and the wicked lived in pomp and pleasure, while David, though he kept close to God and his duty, was still in affliction. Waters of a full cup are wrung out to God’s people, Psalms 73:10. 2. That it has been the advantage of God’s people to be afflicted. David could speak experimentally: It was good for me; many a good lesson he had learnt by his afflictions, and many a good duty he had been brought to which otherwise would have been unlearnt and undone. Therefore God visited him with affliction, that he might learn God’s statutes; and the intention was answered: the afflictions had contributed to the improvement of his knowledge and grace. He that chastened him taught him. The rod and reproof give wisdom.

This same thing that happened to king David was experienced by the whole nation of Israel, during the time of Moses, when they were in the wilderness. See it yourself.

Deuteronomy 8:2-3 And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no. And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.
Deuteronomy 8:15 -16 Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint; Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;
It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes [ pay attention to your decrees ]. – Psalms 119:71

Beloved should you get into an humbling situation as you go in the journey of year 2021. Don’t be surprised. It is to do thee good at thy latter end and guarantee your eternal well being.

Psalms 66:10 For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.
Proverbs 17:3 The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD trieth the hearts.

The good Lord shall help you in particular in Jesus name.

It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes [ pay attention to your decrees ]. – Psalms 119:71

Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | January 1, 2021 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | Their heart is as fat as grease; but I delight in thy law

Their heart is as fat as grease [ so hard and callous ]; but I delight in thy law [ instructions and teachings ]. – Psalms 119:70

Dearly beloved brethren, happy new year. Your desires according to God’s will, shall be speedily granted in Jesus name. God of heaven shall grant you in particular, unusual divine speed in all areas of your life, this year in Jesus name.

Beloved, the scriptures exhorts you a Bible believing believer, to follow after what is good. See this yourself.

3 John 1:11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
1 Thessalonians 5:15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
Their heart is as fat as grease [ so hard and callous ]; but I delight in thy law [ instructions and teachings ]. – Psalms 119:70

As you step into this new year follow the good example of king David, as revealed in this verse of the Bible. See it.

Psalms 119:70 Their heart is as fat as grease; but I delight in thy law.

At this time king David, took a firm stand not follow scoffers and scorners of God’s word, because of their wealthy position.

Their wealthy position made them derided God’s eternal words. They were high minded and lovers of pleasures. This makes them to become fools according to the Bible and they were behaving stupidly. See the same verse in other versions.

AMP BIBLE
Psalm 119:70 Their hearts are as fat as grease [their minds are dull and brutal], but I delight in Your law.

NLT
Psalms 119:70 Their hearts are dull and stupid, but I delight in your instructions.

Their heart is as fat as grease [ so hard and callous ]; but I delight in thy law [ instructions and teachings ]. – Psalms 119:70

Beloved see the same verse amplified by two different commentaries.

1. Their heart is as fat as grease; ie dull, gross, insensible to spiritual things . But I delight in thy Law. My heart is unlike theirs. Thy Law is a “delight” to it.

2. Their heart is as fat as grease – They are egregiously stupid, they have fed themselves without fear; they are become flesh-brutalized, and given over to vile affections, and have no kind of spiritual relish: but I delight in thy law – I have, through thy goodness, a spiritual feeling and a spiritual appetite.

Beloved see how the scriptures both in the old and new testaments, describe them

Psalms 17:10 They are inclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly..
Psalms 73:7 Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.
Psalms 123:4 Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.
Isaiah 6:10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.
Their heart is as fat as grease [ so hard and callous ]; but I delight in thy law [ instructions and teachings ]. – Psalms 119:70

Dearly beloved, despite the scoffing and scorning of these people, see the firm stance of king David again.

Their heart is as fat as grease [ so hard and callous ]; but I delight in thy law [ instructions and teachings ]. – Psalms 119:70

See his firm stance affirmed by the scriptures.

Psalms 119:16 I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.
Psalms 119:24 Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors.
Psalms 119:35 Make me to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight.

Beloved, like king David, you are exhorted as you step into the new year, not to follow the pernicious ways of these people, especially at this time, that the dawning rapture can take place at any time.

2 Peter 3:3,-4 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
2 Timothy 3:1-5 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

The good Lord shall help you in particular to be wise unto salvation in Jesus name.

Their heart is as fat as grease [ so hard and callous ]; but I delight in thy law [ instructions and teachings ]. – Psalms 119:70

Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | December 31, 2020 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | The proud have forged a lie against me

The proud have forged a lie [ falsehood ] against me: but I will keep thy precepts, statues and decrees with my whole heart. - Psalms 119:69
The proud have forged a lie [ falsehood ] against me: but I will keep thy precepts, statues and decrees with my whole heart. - Psalms 119:69

The proud have forged a lie [ falsehood ] against me: but I will keep thy precepts, statues and decrees with my whole heart. – Psalms 119:69

The proud have forged a lie [ falsehood ] against me: but I will keep thy precepts, statues and decrees with my whole heart. – Psalms 119:69

Dearly beloved brethren, over and over both in the old and new testaments, saints and believers are informed that, their righteous stance will incur the wrath of the unrighteous.

Psalms 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
2 Timothy 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
John 15:17 These things I command you, that ye love one another. 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. 15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. 15:21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me. 15:22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin. 15:23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also. 15:24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. 15:25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.
The proud have forged a lie [ falsehood ] against me: but I will keep thy precepts, statues and decrees with my whole heart. – Psalms 119:69

But in addition, the scriptures revealed the biblical response of the righteous to those that are persecuting them.

See the admonitions from the scriptures on the attitude of Bible believing believers and you in particular to all those that are persecuting you without a cause.

Beloved see the exemplary lifestyle of our Lord to His persecutors.. He did exactly what He taught.

Acts 1:1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
1 Peter 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 2:22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: 2:23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
The proud have forged a lie [ falsehood ] against me: but I will keep thy precepts, statues and decrees with my whole heart. – Psalms 119:69

See what our Lord taught us about believers response to persecution, which must be your own attitude too.

Matthew 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

In addition, see the exhortation of the blessed Holy Spirit on believers response to persecution.

1 Thessalonians 5:15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
Romans 12:14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. 12:17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. 12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. 12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. 12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
1 Peter 3:8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: 3:9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. 3:10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: 3:11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. 3:13 And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? 3:14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled; 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: 3:16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. 3:17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing. 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

This verse of the Bible reveals the stance of king David towards his persecutors. See it yourself.

The proud have forged a lie [ falsehood ] against me: but I will keep thy precepts, statues and decrees with my whole heart. – Psalms 119:69

See how the following verses affirmed that ,he was been persecuted.

Psalms 119:22 Remove from me reproach and contempt; for I have kept thy testimonies. 119:23 Princes also did sit and speak against me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes. 119:42 So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me: for I trust in thy word. 119:78 Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: but I will meditate in thy precepts.

But then, see his godly response to his persecutors.

Psalms 119:2 Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. 119:10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. 119:34 Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart.

Beloved, see this same passage in other Bible versions.

NLT
Psalms 119:69 Arrogant people smear me with lies, but in truth I obey your commandments with all my heart.

AMP BIBLE
Psalm 119:69 The arrogant and godless have put together a lie against me, but I will keep Your precepts with my whole heart.

In addition see the same passage amplified.

The proud have forged a lie against me; literally, patched up a lie against me . But I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart “The connection of the clauses is—that all the craft and malice of his enemies should only lead him to obey God with a more undivided heart than ever.

Beloved always remember, your righteous stance will incur the wrath of the ungodly. But then your response to their malicious acts must be like that of our Lord Jesus Christ and king David.

The grace of God shall avail for you in particular in Jesus name.

The good Lord shall help you in particular in Jesus name.

The proud have forged a lie [ falsehood ] against me: but I will keep thy precepts, statues and decrees with my whole heart. – Psalms 119:69
