Turn away my reproach which I fear [ the disgrace I dread ]: for thy judgments [ laws and regulations ] are good. – Psalms 119:39

Dearly beloved brethren, with heart full of gratitude to the almighty God, to our Lord Jesus Christ and the blessed Holy Spirit, for how the triune God have been with us from the beginning of this year till this moment, the very last month of year 2020. We praise the triune God for their goodness and mercies to us.

Beloved brethren, this new month of December, God shall make your life, your family and your source of livelihood to be shame free, but glory full , in every areas of your life, till Christ comes in Jesus name.

Psalms 34:5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
Isaiah 43:7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.

Beloved, their is something, you must always remember and never ever forget. Either in the old testament for the saints or the new testament for the believers, like you.

Righteousness, godliness, Christlikeness shall always attract persecutions. See some of the scriptures.

Psalms 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
2 Timothy 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
Matthew 5:11-12 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
John 15:18-21 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.
John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Turn away my reproach which I fear [ the disgrace I dread ]: for thy judgments [ laws and regulations ] are good. – Psalms 119:39
John 17:14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Philippians 1:29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;
Revelation 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
Turn away my reproach which I fear [ the disgrace I dread ]: for thy judgments [ laws and regulations ] are good. – Psalms 119:39

Brethren, king David desired to be obedient to the statues of God, but dread consequences of standing for righteousness. See it yourself.

Turn away my reproach which I fear [ the disgrace I dread ]: for thy judgments [ laws and regulations ] are good. – Psalms 119:39

See this same passage in other Bible version.

Psalm 119:39 Turn away my reproach which I fear and dread, for Your ordinances are good.

See this same passage amplified.

AMPLIFIED

Turn away my reproach, which I fear; ie “turn away from me the only reproach of which I am afraid—the reproach of transgressing against thy Law” For thy judgments are good. Right in themselves, and conducive to man’s happiness.
Turn away my reproach which I fear [ the disgrace I dread ]: for thy judgments [ laws and regulations ] are good. – Psalms 119:39

Beloved, see king David expressing same thing in this passage below,, see it.

Psalms 119:31 I have stuck unto thy testimonies: O LORD, put me not to shame.

Brethren, it is absolutely impossible for you to stand for righteousness and godliness and for you to avoid persecution except you want to compromise.

But , if you will pray effectually, God will strengthen you and give you courage to endure persecution and afflictions which might come as consequences for your right standing. Remember Joseph, he went to prison. The three Hebrews were thrown into the fiery furnace and Daniel went to the den of lions.

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
2 Timothy 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

Never ever opted for compromise, because you want to avoid the consequences of standing for righteousness.

The good Lord shall help you in particular in Jesus name.

Turn away my reproach which I fear [ the disgrace I dread ]: for thy judgments [ laws and regulations ] are good. – Psalms 119:39

Stablish thy word [ Fulfill your promise, Reassure me of your promise ] unto thy servant, who is devoted to thy fear. – Psalms 119:38

Dearly beloved brethren, I pray for you with all my heart, God shall fulfill , all His good promises for you in particular in Jesus name.

This was the earnest desire of king David in this passage. See it yourself.

Psalms 119:38 Stablish thy word unto thy servant, who is devoted to thy fear.

See this same passage amplified in other Bible versions.

NLT

Psalms 119:38 Reassure me of your promise, made to those who fear you.

Psalm 119:38 [38]Establish Your word and confirm Your promise to Your servant, which is for those who reverently fear and devotedly worship You.
Stablish thy word [ Fulfill your promise, Reassure me of your promise ] unto thy servant, who is devoted to thy fear. – Psalms 119:38

Beloved brethren, the Bible reveals to us, how we can have our desires cheaply from God. See it yourself.

Psalms 145:19 He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.

No wonder, king David was praying to God to fulfil, His promises in his life, because, he had chosen to biblically fear God. See it yourself again.

Stablish thy word [ Fulfill your promise, Reassure me of your promise ] unto thy servant, who is devoted to thy fear. – Psalms 119:38

Beloved, won’t you make this resolution too, like king David, to biblically fear God and be blessed.

See, over and over, either in the old or new testaments, saints and believers alike are commanded to fear God, see some of them.

1. Through Jesus our Lord.

Luke 12:5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

2. From God the Father Himself.

Jeremiah 5:22 Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

3. Through the blessed Holy Spirit.

Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.
Deuteronomy 10:12 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
Psalms 96:9 O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.
Heb 12:28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:

Beloved receive grace to biblically fear God and be blessed. It shall be well with you in particular in Jesus

Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | November 29, 2020 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity

Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity [ looking at worthless things ]; and quicken thou me in thy way. - Psalms 119:37

Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity [ looking at worthless things ]; and quicken thou me in thy way. – Psalms 119:37

Dearly beloved brethren, I beseche you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, to give right attitude to the eternity defining prayer of king David, in this particular passage. See it yourself.

Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity [ looking at worthless things ]; and quicken thou me in thy way. – Psalms 119:37

Beloved see other versions of the same passage.

NLT

Psalms 119:37 – Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word.

AMP BIBLE

Psalm 119:37 – Turn away my eyes from beholding vanity (idols and idolatry); and restore me to vigorous life and health in Your ways.

In addition, beloved brethren, see it amplified.

1. Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity. Let me not be distracted from thy service by the “vanities” of the world—wealth, honor, power, glory, and the like; rather, quicken thou me in thy way. Give me increased life, strength, and vigor, to walk continually in the way of thy commandments.

2. Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity – An idol, worldly pleasure, beauty, finery; any thing that is vain, empty, or transitory. Let me not behold it; let me not dwell upon it. Let me remember Achan: he saw, – he coveted, – he took, – he hid his theft, and was slain for his sin.

Dearly beloved, why have I taken you in particular, through all of these?

It is because of the earthly and eternal dangers that awaits anyone and everyone, caught in this sinful lifestyle

Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity [ looking at worthless things ]; and quicken thou me in thy way. – Psalms 119:37

Look at what the Bible says shall be the lots of those living a lifestyle of vanities.

1 Timothy 5:6 But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.
Isaiah 22:13-14 And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; for to morrow we shall die. And it was revealed in mine ears by the LORD of hosts, Surely this iniquity shall not be purged from you till ye die, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
Luke 12:19-20 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
Revelation 18:7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity [ looking at worthless things ]; and quicken thou me in thy way. – Psalms 119:37

Beloved see how the Bible describes their lifestyles, which informed why such condemnations shall come their ways. See their lifestyles yourself and check up whether you also is living such lifestyle.

Job 21:11-15 They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance. They take the timbrel and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the organ. They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave. Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways. What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?
Psalms 73:5-7 They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men. Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment. Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.
Amos 6:5-6 That chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of musick, like David; That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.
Luke 15:13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
Luke 12:19-20 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
Luke 16:19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
James 5:5 Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.
Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity [ looking at worthless things ]; and quicken thou me in thy way. – Psalms 119:37

Beloved , please sincerely examine yourself, are you guilty of this hell bound teansgressions? Your response should be affirmative yes. But if your response is no, repent wholeheartedly, like king David, did on the issue of Uriah, the husband of Betsheba.

It was true that God forgave David, but the stigma lived with him all his life, even to the new testament. See it.

Matthew 1:6 And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;

It was because of this, king David prayed that prayer ,for him not to fall into the sin again.

Achan was not as lucky as king David, he and his households were stoned and burned for this same sin. See it yourself.

Joshua 7:20-26 And Achan answered Joshua, and said, Indeed I have sinned against the LORD God of Israel, and thus and thus have I done: When I saw among the spoils a goodly Babylonish garment, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold of fifty shekels weight, then I coveted them, and took them; and, behold, they are hid in the earth in the midst of my tent, and the silver under it. So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran unto the tent; and, behold, it was hid in his tent, and the silver under it. And
they took them out of the midst of the tent, and brought them unto Joshua, and unto all the children of Israel, and laid them out before the LORD. And Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, and the silver, and the garment, and the wedge of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his oxen, and his asses, and his sheep, and his tent, and all that he had: and they brought them unto the valley of Achor. And Joshua said, Why hast thou troubled us? the LORD shall trouble thee this day. And all Israel stoned him with stones, and burned them with fire, after they had stoned them with stones. And they raised over him a great heap of stones unto this day. So the LORD turned from the fierceness of his anger. Wherefore the name of that place was called, The valley of Achor, unto this day.

Beloved, the Bible exhorts you to learn from the undoing of those in Bible days and avoid it.

Romans 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
1 Corinthians 10:11-13 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

May the good Lord help you in particular to be wise unto salvation in Jesus name.

Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness [ not toward selfish gain, and not unto dishonest gain ]. - Psalms  119:36
Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness [ not toward selfish gain, and not unto dishonest gain ]. - Psalms  119:36

Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness [ not toward selfish gain, and not unto dishonest gain ]. – Psalms  119:36

Dearly beloved brethren, their is a powerful satanic cankerworm that is presently permeating into the fabric of Christendom globally. You must do everything, not be caught in this web.
Sensual churchgoers, who profess religion, measure their Christian lifestyle  by their possessions and  not by Christlikeness  or godliness. The Bible says they taught gain is godliness.
1 Timothy  6:5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
On the contrary Bible believing believers measure their Christian lifestyle  by  their  insatiable passion for increased Christlikeness.  Jesus must increase in us  to the highest level  and self must decrease  to zero
John  3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
Unfortunately this is not the case with the vast majority of those  empty professor of religion. See   what the scriptures says about them and check up, whether you do not fall into this category.
Ezekiel  33:31 And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.
1 Corinthians  15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness [ not toward selfish gain, and not unto dishonest gain ]. – Psalms  119:36
The Bible in both old and new testaments, clearly  commands saints and believers alike to be free from covetousness.  See these repeated severally in the  scriptures.
Exodus  20:17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.

Luk 12:15  And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
Col 3:5 — Col 3:6  Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
Romans  13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Mark  7:20-23  And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.   For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,  Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:  All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness [ not toward selfish gain, and not unto dishonest gain ]. – Psalms  119:36

1 Timothy  6:10-11 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.  But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

Hebrews  13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

The understanding of this revealed will of God in the scriptures that  made king David abhorred covetousness in its entire ramifications. See these.
Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness [ not toward selfish gain, and not unto dishonest gain ]. – Psalms  119:36
Psalms  119:72 The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver

See this same passage amplified in other versions of the Bible.
Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness [ not toward selfish gain, and not unto dishonest gain ]. – Psalms  119:36
NLT
Psalms 119:36

rather than a love for money!
AMP. BIBLE.
Psalm 119:36
[36]Incline my heart to Your testimonies and not to covetousness (robbery, sensuality, unworthy riches).
Beloved I am persuaded of you that you are not like the vast majority of empty professor of religion. So follow the good example of king David and commit yourself till Christ comes to detest covetous lifestyle. Remember, this was the undoing of apostle Judas.
What happened to him, shall not be portion in Jesus name.

Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | November 27, 2020 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | Make me to go in the path of thy commandments

Make me [ Direct, Cause me to tread ] to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight. - Psalms 119:35
Make me [ Direct, Cause me to tread ] to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight. - Psalms 119:35

Make me [ Direct, Cause me to tread ] to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight. – Psalms 119:35

Make me [ Direct , Cause me to tread ] to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight. – Psalms 119:35

Dearly beloved brethren, the scriptures revealed to us of the yearnings of some saints of old, who were privileged to have access to the prophecies about the coming of Christ, our Messiah.

Saints like Moses, king David, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel etc had access to the prophecies about Christ, the Messiah, promised as far back as the first book of the Bible, Genesis. See the prophecy.

Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

But then, king David was unusually favoured to access much prophecies about Christ, our Messiah.

One of such prophecies was the fact that Christ would be commited to delighting our Father in heaven, by doing His wills at whatever cost. See it.

Psalms 40:7-8 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
Hebrews 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
John 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
Make me [ Direct, Cause me to tread ] to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight. – Psalms 119:35

Because of the insight of king David, about this revelation of Christ, he desired to be conformed to the image of Christ, according to the scriptures. See it m

Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Just like Christ our Messiah would delight in doing God’s will, so king David, also had delight in going the path of God’s commandments, which are the revealed will of God. See it yourself.

Make me [ Direct, Cause me to tread ] to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight. – Psalms 119:35

See the same passage amplified.

Make me to go in the path of thy commandments. Keep me, ie; from straying out of the right path, through ignorance or negligence. For therein do I delight

Beloved see the commitment of king David to delight God, as revealed by the following scriptures
like our Lord Jesus Christ.

Psalms 119:16 I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.
Psalms 119:24 Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors.
Psalms 119:47 And I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I have loved.
Psalms 119:70 Their heart is as fat as grease; but I delight in thy law.
Psalms 119:77 Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my delight.
Psalms 119:174 I have longed for thy salvation, O LORD; and thy law is my delight.
Make me [ Direct, Cause me to tread ] to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight. – Psalms 119:35

No wonder, God did more for king David, than Saul or any other kings.

He gave him the desires of his heart for delighting in Him, according to the scriptures.

Psalms 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart

Dearly beloved, because you also share have all your earthly and eternal desires fulfilled by God, be determined like Christ Jesus our Lord and king David, to live a lifestyle of delighting God, by doing His revealed wills in the Bible at whatever cost till Christ comes.

Mat 12:50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

Receive grace to do so in Jesus name.

Make me [ Direct, Cause me to tread ] to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight. – Psalms 119:35

Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | November 26, 2020 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law;

Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law, your instructions, laws a; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart - Psalms 119:34

Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law, your instructions, laws a; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart – Psalms 119:34

Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law, your instructions, laws and observe your ways.; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart – Psalms 119:34

Dearly beloved brethren, let us determindly apply the principles of the scriptures. Then it will be very easy to get our prayers answered.

Either in the old or new testaments, if God will grant any request of anyone, it must align with the scriptures and His perfect will See this.

1 John 5:14-15 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

This principle was what king David applied here to get God to give him understanding of the law, which was the desire of his heart.

Either in the old or new testaments, God had commanded His people, to love and serve Him, with their whole heart. See them.

Deuteronomy 6:4-5 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Deuteronomy 10:12 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law, your instructions, laws and observe your ways.; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart – Psalms 119:34

Jesus Christ our Lord, emphasized same in the new testament.

Mark 12:28-33 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he: And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.

Now king David promised God that, he would observe his words with his whole heart, if God would give him understanding of the law.

Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law, your instructions, laws and observe your ways.; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart – Psalms 119:34

See the whole heart re emphasized.

Psalms 119:69 The proud have forged a lie against me: but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart.

See it amplified.

AMP

Psalm 119:34
[34]Give me understanding, that I may keep Your law; yes, I will observe it with my whole heart.

Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law, your instructions, laws and observe your ways.; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart – Psalms 119:34

No doubt, God is the giver of understanding and wisdom.

Proverbs 2:6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Beloved follow this principle of the scriptures. Always ensure what you wanted from God align with His revealed perfect will in the scriptures.

Then like God gave king David understanding of the law, He shall grant your own requests too, according to His words in Jesus name.

Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law, your instructions, laws and observe your ways.; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart – Psalms 119:34

Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes, decrees, commandments, ordinances and rules; and I shall keep it unto the end. – Psalms 119:33

Dearly beloved brethren, a lot of people in past generations and this present dispensation have discovered some treasures but failed to take advantage of them.

But then king David discovered something and took advantage of it to the fullest and that was the singular reason for him living eternally with God.

He discovered that God was a teacher of repute with no comparison. You too must discover this, if you have not. See this.

Job 36:22 Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?

For those who discovered God as a teacher of renown like David. He gave a commitment to teach them.

Psalms 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

You are going to discover that when God teaches,. He does it to profit the pupil here and hereafter.

Isa 48:17 — Isa 48:18 Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit,
which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go. O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:

Beloved see how king David took advantage of the teaching ministry of God and was obedient to His teachings till the end of his life.

Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes, decrees, commandments, ordinances and rules; and I shall keep it unto the end. – Psalms 119:33

Eight different times ,in Psalm 119, king David reached out to God to teach him. See them.

Psalms 119:12 Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.
Psalms 119:26 I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me: teach me thy statutes.
Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes, decrees, commandments, ordinances and rules; and I shall keep it unto the end. – Psalms 119:33
Psalms 119:64 The earth, O LORD, is full of thy mercy: teach me thy statutes.
Psalms 119:68 Thou art good, and doest good; teach me thy statutes.
Psalms 119:108 Accept, I beseech thee, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O LORD, and teach me thy judgments.
Psalms 119:124 Deal with thy servant according unto thy mercy, and teach me thy statutes.
Psalms 119:135 Make thy face to shine upon thy servant; and teach me thy statutes.

When king David did this, God according to His promise showed him the way to walk that led him to life eternal See the promise

Amplified. Bible

Psalm 119:33
[33]Teach me, O Lord, the way of Your statutes, and I will keep it to the end [steadfastly]

Amplified

Teach me, O Lord, the way of thy statutes. This is the main prayer of the psalm—a prayer for spiritual enlightenment. ). And I shall keep it unto the end. Either “to the end of my life,”

God’s unchanging promise.

Isaiah 30:20 -21 And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers: And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes, decrees, commandments, ordinances and rules; and I shall keep it unto the end. – Psalms 119:33

Beloved like king David, you also should discover that our Lord Jesus Christ was the teacher who was sent from God.

John 3:2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

In addition, you must discover that the principal ministry of the blessed Holy Spirit, sent by Christ to His church, is to teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance.

Jn 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
1 John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Beloved do you know like king David, your own eternity with God, can be secured too?

All it will take you is to apply yourself to the teachings of Christ our Lord, through the blessed Holy Spirit and here and hereafter, you shall be abundantly profited in Jesus name..

See the way the blessed Holy Spirit is leading you to follow, please be obedient to Him implicitly.

Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Revelation 22:18-19 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

The good Lord shall help you in particular to be wise unto salvation in Jesus name.

Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes, decrees, commandments, ordinances and rules; and I shall keep it unto the end. – Psalms 119:33

LESSONS FROM PSALMS | I will run the way of thy commandments, decrees and statues, when thou shalt enlarge my heart. – Psalms 119:32

Dearly beloved brethren, king David’s consecration at this time is worthy of emulation by heaven bound believer like you.

In addition, heaven bound believer like you should equally pray his eternity defining prayer.

Remember obeying the word of God willingly is dependent on the state of the heart. King David wanted God to enlarge his heart, he wanted God to give him a willing heart to be obedient to his words. See it yourself.

LESSONS FROM PSALMS | I will run the way of thy commandments, decrees and statues, when thou shalt enlarge my heart. – Psalms 119:32

See the amplified version.

Psalm 119:32 I will [not merely walk, but] run the way of Your commandments, when You give me a heart that is willing.

Beloved, either in the old or new testaments, the reason why anyone rejects God’s words have to do with the state of their hearts. See these.

Old testament.

Ezk 33:30 — Ezk 33:33 Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD. And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness. And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not. And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.
Gen 6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
I will run the way of thy commandments, decrees and statues, when thou shalt enlarge my heart. – Psalms 119:32

New testament.

Mat 12:34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
Mar 7:6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
Rom 2:5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
Heb 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
I will run the way of thy commandments, decrees and statues, when thou shalt enlarge my heart. – Psalms 119:32

No wonder, the Bible exhorts heaven bound believers like you on what to do with your heart. See them.

Deu 10:16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.
Deu 30:6 And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live..
Ezk 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
Mat 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Heb 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

May the good Lord help you too, to make a resolution to obey implicitly the word of God, as He gives you a willing heart, like that of king David in Jesus name.

I have stuck, cling and cleave to your statutes and testimonies: O LORD, put me not to shame. – Psalms 119:31

Dearly beloved brethren always remember to follow what is good.

3Jo 1:11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.

1Th 5:15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

King David has chosen to remain faithful to God by doing away with every falsehood.

He was now very resolute to continue for a lifetime godly lifestyle, even though he was afraid of relapsing into the former ungodly attitude.

He consecrated himself as a living sacrifice, bounded on the altar of God.

I have stuck, cling and cleave to your statutes and testimonies: O LORD, put me not to shame. – Psalms 119:31
Psa 118:27 God is the Lord, which hath shewed us light:bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.
Rom 12:1 — Rom 12:2. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

See king David’s consecration to God.

Psalm 119:31 – I cleave to Your testimonies; O Lord, put me not to shame!

See the passage amplified.

I have stuck unto thy testimonies; or, “cleaved” (Psalms 119:25); ie kept firm and steadfast to them. The writer does not mean to assert sinlessness, but only sincerity of intention, and a general endeavor to do right. O Lord, put me not to shame. Suffer me not to fall from thee in such sort that I am put to an open shame

Beloved since you have discovered that, this kind of resolution, if done faithfully shall guarantee your living with God in eternity, so plug into it and remain their till Christ comes..

The grace of God shall keep you from falling, you need not entertain the fear of relapsing.

The good Lord shall help you in particular in Jesus name.

Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | November 22, 2020 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | I have chosen the way of truth

LESSONS FROM PSALMS | I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me. - Psalms 119:30

LESSONS FROM PSALMS | I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me. – Psalms 119:30

Dearly beloved brethren, it is very very easy to differentiate between a believer and an unbeliever. It is not difficult to discover whether a person is a saint or sinner.

It is very easy to know who is walking on the narrow road, the way of holiness and the one who is walking on the broad road, the way of destruction.

How, then can you know all these? Simply by the choices such people are making.

A sinner will never choose to fear God or think about Him. He or she will never think about his or her eternal well being.

Proverbs 1:29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
Psa 10:4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God:God is not in all his thoughts.
John 3:19-21 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
LESSONS FROM PSALMS | I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me. – Psalms 119:30

But then on the contrary, the saint and the believer are always making godly choices and thinking about God and their eternal well being. See these saints.

Joshua

Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Mary.

Luk 10:38 — Luk 10:42 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

Saints in early church.

2 John 1:4 I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.

Pause here and place yourself, where you belong. What kind of choices are you making? Are you always thoughtful about your eternal well being? Your answer should be affirmative yes. But if not, something is deadly wrong.

See, in the previous verse, David resolved to do away with falsehood. So his choices are now godly and places right premium on God’s eternal, unchanging and unfailing words. See it.

LESSONS FROM PSALMS | I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me. – Psalms 119:30

Previous

I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me. – Psalms 119:30

Present.

Psalms 119:30 I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.

Amplified.

Psalm 119:30 I have chosen the way of truth and faithfulness; Your ordinances have I set before me.
Psalms 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
Psalms 119:111 Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart.
Psalms 119:173 Let thine hand help me; for I have chosen thy precepts.

See this passage Amplified.

I have chosen the way of truth. The converse of “the way of lying” (Psalms 119:29), the path of true religion, of faithfulness and steadfastness to God. Thy judgments have I laid before me. Thy commandments have I set before my eyes as rules to be observed constantly.

So David did: I have chosen the way of truth. Note, 1. The way of serious godliness is the way of truth; the principles it is founded on are principles of eternal truth, and it is the only true way to happiness. 2. We must choose to walk in this way, not because we know no other way, but because we know no better; nay we know no other safe and good way. Let us choose that way for our way, which we will walk in, though it be narrow.

II. That those who have chosen the way of truth must have a constant regard to the word of God as the rule of their walking: Thy judgments have I laid before me,

Beloved, follow this exemplary lifestyle of David at this time. It is noteworthy.

May the good Lord find you faithfil in Jesus name.
