Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | February 21, 2021 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | I have done judgment and justice

I have done judgment and justice [ i have been righteous and just; ]: leave me not to mine oppressors. - Psalms 119:121
I have done judgment and justice [ i have been righteous and just; ]: leave me not to mine oppressors. - Psalms 119:121

I have done judgment and justice [ i have been righteous and just; ]: leave me not to mine oppressors. – Psalms 119:121

Dearly beloved brethren, it is true that you are a free moral agent.

This knowledge should help you and spur you to determinedly resolved to do right things at all times, knowing fully that you are going to reap what you sow before God.

See the following scriptures.

Galatians 6:7-8 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
Isaiah 3:10-11 Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. 3:11 Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.
Ecclesiastes 8:11-13 Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. 8:12 Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him: 8:13 But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God.
Revelation 22:11-12 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Beloved brethren, the knowledge of this unfailing truth was what king David was appealing to, before God, knowing fully that he had done what was right and lawful before God. See it yourself.

I have done judgment and justice [ i have been righteous and just; ]: leave me not to mine oppressors. – Psalms 119:121

See this same passage in other Bible versions.

NLT
Psalms 119:121 Don’t leave me to the mercy of my enemies, for I have done what is just and right.

AMP. BIBLE
Psalm 119:121 I have done justice and righteousness; leave me not to those who would oppress me.

See this same passage amplified.

David here appeals to God, 1. As his witness that he had not done wrong he could truly say, “I have done judgment and justice, that is, I have made conscience of rendering to all their due, and have not by force or fraud hindered any of their right.

I have done judgment and justice [ i have been righteous and just; ]: leave me not to mine oppressors. – Psalms 119:121

Beloved brethren, the Bible further affirms the seriousness of king David to God’s unfailing unchanging eternal words. See these.

Psalms 119:30 I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.
Psalms 119:31 I have stuck unto thy testimonies: O LORD, put me not to shame.
Psalms 119:55 I have remembered thy name, O LORD, in the night, and have kept thy law.
Psalms 119:56 This I had, because I kept thy precepts.

Like king David, brethren don’t ever forget, that what you are sowing today, you shall reap tomorrow and even at eternity, so resolve never to be doing evil, because of its consequences.

Pro 11:21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished:but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
I have done judgment and justice [ i have been righteous and just; ]: leave me not to mine oppressors. – Psalms 119:121

My flesh trembleth [ shuddereth ] for fear of thee; and I am afraid of thy judgments [ rules, laws, decrees and regulations ]. – Psalms 119:120

Dearly beloved brethren, as a Bible believing believer, you must cultivate right attitude before God at all times and in all places

This because your Father in heaven is both a God of love and justice.

Psalms 111:9 He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.
Psalms 89:7 God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.

It is very very important that you always behave appropriately before Him with reverential fear.

The scriptures reveals the biblical ways Bible believers like you should be relating with Him.

See the following:

1. Trembling at God’s unfailing unchanging eternal words?

Isaiah 66:2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
Isaiah 66:5 Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name’s sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.
Ezra 9:4 Then were assembled unto me every one that trembled at the words of the God of Israel, because of the transgression of those that had been carried away; and I sat astonied until the evening sacrifice.
Ezra 10:3 Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law.

Habakkuk 3:16 When I heard, my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the voice: rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in myself, that I might rest in the day of trouble: when he cometh up unto the people, he will invade them with his troops.

Acts 9:6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
Acts 16:29-30 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
My flesh trembleth [ shuddereth ] for fear of thee; and I am afraid of thy judgments [ rules, laws, decrees and regulations ]. – Psalms 119:120

2. Godly biblical conduct and reverential fear

Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Hebrews 12:28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:

3. Broken and contrite heart

Psalms 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

4. Poor in the spirit

Matthew 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
My flesh trembleth [ shuddereth ] for fear of thee; and I am afraid of thy judgments [ rules, laws, decrees and regulations ]. – Psalms 119:120

Beloved brethren, it was the understanding of the love and justice of God, that made king David to conduct himself appropriately before Him . See it yourself.

My flesh trembleth [ shuddereth ] for fear of thee; and I am afraid of thy judgments [ rules, laws, decrees and regulations ]. – Psalms 119:120

See this same passage in other Bible versions.

NLT
Psalms 119:120 I tremble in fear of you; I stand in awe of your regulations.
AMP BIBLE
Psalm 119:120 My flesh trembles and shudders for fear and reverential, worshipful awe of You, and I am afraid and in dread of Your judgments.

Dearly beloved, see how the scriptures further affirms the right conduct of king David towards God.

Psalms 119:161 Princes have persecuted me without a cause: but my heart standeth in awe of thy word.
Psalms 51:1-4 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. 51:2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. 51:3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. 51:4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

Remember the Bible says you should follow what is good, so begin to relate with God, henceforth with reverential fear, like king David.

3 John 1:11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
My flesh trembleth [ shuddereth ] for fear of thee; and I am afraid of thy judgments [ rules, laws, decrees and regulations ]. – Psalms 119:120

Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | February 19, 2021 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | Thou puttest away all the wicked of the earth like dross

Thou puttest away all the [ Thou hast caused to cease ] wicked of the earth like dross: therefore I love thy testimonies. - Psalms 119:119
Thou puttest away all the [ Thou hast caused to cease ] wicked of the earth like dross: therefore I love thy testimonies. - Psalms 119:119

Thou puttest away all the wicked of the earth [ Thou hast caused to cease All the wicked ] like dross: therefore I love thy testimonies. – Psalms 119:119

Dearly beloved brethren, the Bible reveals some fearful and fearsome information about the wicked.

Here on earth and at eternity, they are separated from God.

The Bible reveals that these wicked people can be found in both inside and outside of the church.

The Bible says the wicked has forgotten about God and will not seek Him.

No wonder, the Bible says God is angry with the wicked everyday and shall be separated from Him, for all eternity. See the following scriptures.

Psalms 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.
Psalms 7:11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.
Psalms 10:4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.
Psalms 34:21 Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.
Proverbs 3:33 The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.
Proverbs 11:21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
Isaiah 3:11 Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.
Matthew 13:49-50 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, 13:50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

King David having so much love for the eternal unchanging and unfailing word of God, discovered and revealed the judgement of God on the wicked here and hereafter. See it yourself.

Thou puttest away all the wicked of the earth [ Thou hast caused to cease All the wicked ] like dross: therefore I love thy testimonies. – Psalms 119:119

See this passage in other Bible versions.

NLT
Psalms 119:119 You skim off the wicked of the earth like scum; no wonder I love to obey your laws!

AMP BIBLE
Psalm 119:119 You put away and count as dross all the wicked of the earth [for there is no true metal in them]; therefore I love Your testimonies.

See this same passage amplified.

Thou puttest away all the wicked of the earth like dross. The wicked are ultimately separated from the righteous, and cast away “as dross,” since they can serve no good end Therefore I love thy testimonies.

Beloved I am persuaded that you are not part of the wicked and you should never be.

But then, going by the revelation of the scriptures above about the wicked,, check up whether you still remember God and seeking Him and you are obeying His words in entirety?

These are the things Bible believing believers like you should be doing. But if you are not, quickly do the needful.

Repent and follow up with necessary restitutions. The good Lord shall help you in particular to be wise unto salvation in Jesus name.

Acts 26:20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

Thou hast trodden down all them that err [ You reject all who stray ] from thy statutes: for their deceit is falsehood. - Psalms 119:118

Thou hast trodden down all them that err [ You reject all who stray ] from thy statutes: for their deceit is falsehood. – Psalms 119:118

Dearly beloved brethren, I want to plead with you in the name of the Lord, that you should do everything to sustain your relationship with the Lord, to the end.

It is true that, as a Bible believing believer, you shall face challenges ,but don’t allow the trial of faith to separate you from following the Lord to the end.

The reason for this admonition is because , God is displeased if anyone turns back from following Him.

Jer 2:13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

In addition there are earthly and eternal consequences for departing from the Lord.

See what the following scriptures says about the consequences of departing from the Lord.

1. Such a person shall face the wrath of God.

Joshua 24:20 If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.

2. God shall forsake the person here and hereafter.

1 Chronicles 28:9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.
2 Chronicles 15:2 And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.
Thou hast trodden down all them that err [ You reject all who stray ] from thy statutes: for their deceit is falsehood. – Psalms 119:118

See instances of fearful punishment from God to king Solomon and king Saul.

King Solomon.

1 Kings 11:6-11 And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father. 11:7 Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon. 11:8 And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods. 11:9 And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice, 11:10 And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded. 11:11 Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.

2. King Saul.

1 Chronicles 10:13 So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, even against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it;

King David in his time have seen over and over, the aftermath of those who departed from following the Lord, wrote to warm God’s people of all ages and you in particular, to do everything to avoid it. See it yourself.

Thou hast trodden down all them that err [ You reject all who stray ] from thy statutes: for their deceit is falsehood. – Psalms 119:118

See this same passage in other Bible version.

NLT
Psalms 119:118 But you have rejected all who stray from your decrees. They are only fooling themselves.

See this same passage amplified.

Here is, I. God’s judgment on wicked people, on those that wander from his statutes, that take their measures from other rules and will not have God to reign over them. All departure from God’s statutes is certainly an error, and will prove a fatal one. These are the wicked of the earth; they mind earthly things, lay up their treasures in the earth, live in pleasure on the earth, and are strangers and enemies to heaven and heavenly things. Now see how God deals with them, that you may neither fear them nor envy them. 1. He treads them all down. He brings them to ruin, to utter ruin, to shameful ruin; he makes them his footstool. Though they are ever so high, he can bring them low (Amos 2:9); he has done it many a time, and he will do it, for he resists the proud and will triumph over those that oppose his kingdom. Proud persecutors trample upon his people, but, sooner or later, he will trample upon them

Beloved I beseech you to heed this warning and determindly follow the Lord, through thick and thin to the end. The good Lord shall help you in particular in Jesus name.

Luke 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
Thou hast trodden down all them that err [ You reject all who stray ] from thy statutes: for their deceit is falsehood. – Psalms 119:118

Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | February 17, 2021 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe

Hold thou me up [ Support Thou me ], and I shall be safe: and I will have respect unto thy statutes continually. - Psalms 119:117
Hold thou me up [ Support Thou me ], and I shall be safe: and I will have respect unto thy statutes continually. - Psalms 119:117

Hold thou me up [ Support Thou me ], and I shall be safe: and I will have respect unto thy statutes continually. – Psalms 119:117

Dearly beloved brethren, as we draw nearer and neater to the end of time day after day,, you need not be troubled concerning the prophecies and reality of the unfolding of events of last days.

It is true that the following things shall be happening..

1. Abounding of shameful iniquities.

Matthew 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

2. Falling away from preaching the truth of the Bible.

2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.

3. Departure from the faith.

1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
Hold thou me up [ Support Thou me ], and I shall be safe: and I will have respect unto thy statutes continually. – Psalms 119:117

4. Casting their first faith

1Ti 5:12 Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith.

5. Lost of first love for Christ

Revelation 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

6. Coldness and lukewarmness.

Revelation 3:15-16. I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

7. Shameful outright backsliding.

Heb 6:4 — Heb 6:6 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
Hold thou me up [ Support Thou me ], and I shall be safe: and I will have respect unto thy statutes continually. – Psalms 119:117

But then you need not be troubled that any of these shall happen in your life.

This is because of the unfailing promises we have received from the Lord to keep us to the end. See some of them.

1. God shall keep us to the end.

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

2. Never be afraid of anything and everything happening around you.

Proverbs 3:25-26 Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. 3:26 For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

3. The unfailing support of the Lord.

Hebrews 2:18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

4. Promised to be kept and preserved from all evils to the end by the Lord.

Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

Hold thou me up [ Support Thou me ], and I shall be safe: and I will have respect unto thy statutes continually. – Psalms 119:117
2 Timothy 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Beloved, it was this fear of falling from grace that was the concern of king David at this point. See it yourself.

Hold thou me up [ Support Thou me ], and I shall be safe: and I will have respect unto thy statutes continually. – Psalms 119:117

See the same passage in other Bible versions.

NLT
Psalms 119:117 Sustain me, and I will be rescued; then I will meditate continually on your decrees.

AMP BIBLE
Psalm 119:117 Hold me up, that I may be safe and have regard for Your statutes continually!

Beloved see the same passage amplified. King David was so much concerned from falling from the old pathway. The way of holiness.

Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe; ie from falling away. And I will have respect unto thy commandments continually .

No wonder his desperate inquiring from the Lord.

Psalms 15:1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
Psalms 24:3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?
Hold thou me up [ Support Thou me ], and I shall be safe: and I will have respect unto thy statutes continually. – Psalms 119:117

See his determined resolve to perform continually the statues of God, to keep him from falling away from grace.

Psalms 119:112 I have inclined mine heart to perform thy statutes alway, even unto the end.

Beloved you also must be determined to cleave to the Lord, so that the prophecies and reality of happenings of the last days shall not catch you unaware.

It shall not in Jesus name.

Acts 11:23 Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.

The good Lord shall help you in particular in Jesus name.

Hold thou me up [ Support Thou me ], and I shall be safe: and I will have respect unto thy statutes continually. – Psalms 119:117

Uphold [ sustain ] me according unto thy word [ saying and decrees ], that I may live: and let me not be ashamed of my hope. – Psalms 119:116

Dearly beloved brethren, except the good Lord upholds, every Bible believing believers like you, things happening around you or happening in your life might give you concern

Our Lord said at the end of time, iniquity shall abound and the love of many shall wax cold.

Matthew 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

Also because of the happenings of the last days, that the Bible refers to as perilous times

2Ti 3:1 — 2Ti 3:5 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

These things might bring avoidable concerns to a faithful Bible believing believer, wondering, whether, he or she would be able to endure to the end.

Uphold [ sustain ] me according unto thy word [ saying and decrees ], that I may live: and let me not be ashamed of my hope. – Psalms 119:116

Beloved at a time like this, you must do what saints and believers in Bible days and even in our contemporary times are doing.

1. Lean and depend entirely on His sufficiency and unfailing grace.

2Co 3:5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
2Co 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

2. Believe His promises to be kept and sustained.

Hebrews 2:18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

These two things shall guarantee your continuity to the end, without being put to shame.

Psalms 34:5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
Isaiah 49:23 And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD:
for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me.
Uphold [ sustain ] me according unto thy word [ saying and decrees ], that I may live: and let me not be ashamed of my hope. – Psalms 119:116
Isa 50:7 For the Lord God will help me;therefore shall I not be confounded:therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.
Romans 9:33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Romans 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

These two things were the succor that kept king David, going in his days.

1. Total faith in God’s unfailing unchanging and eternal promises.

2. Hope in the unfailing faithfulness of God to help him not to be put to shame. See it yourself.

Uphold [ sustain ] me according unto thy word [ saying and decrees ], that I may live: and let me not be ashamed of my hope. – Psalms 119:116

Beloved see this same passage in other Bible versions.

NLT
Psalms 119:116 lord, sustain me as you promised, that I may live! Do not let my hope be crushed.

AMP BIBLE
Psalm 119:116 Uphold me according to Your promise, that I may live; and let me not be put to shame in my hope!

See the same passage amplified.

Uphold me according unto thy Word, that I may live; or, “according to thy promise” God’s sustaining grace, always needed to “uphold” the righteous, is graciously “promised” them. Their “life” depends upon God’s faithfulness to his promise. And let me not be ashamed of my hope. As he would be, if God’s promise were not kept.

King David was not put to shame ultimately.

Psalms 25:2 O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

Psalms 31:1 In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.

Psa 37:19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time:and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

As you also depend wholeheartedly on God’s eternal unfailing and unchanging words and hold unto His faithfulness to keep you from slipping into shame, your lifelong victory shall be guaranteed.

Isaiah 50:10 Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God.
2 Timothy 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

It shall be so in Jesus name.

Uphold [ sustain ] me according unto thy word [ saying and decrees ], that I may live: and let me not be ashamed of my hope. – Psalms 119:116

Depart from me, ye evildoers [ wicked people and sinners ]: for I will keep the commandments [ decrees and laws ] of my God. – Psalms 119:115

Dearly beloved brethren, you must make deliberate efforts to avoid making God to be angry with you as He did with King Solomon, whose heart was turned from Him , because of strange wives.

1 Kings 11:4-9 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father. 11:5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites. 11:6 And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father. 11:9 And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice,

In addition you must do everything to avoid Jesus Christ our Lord saying to you at eternity, I don’t know you.

Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

The singular causes for the two unpleasant situations happening to anyone, professing religion, is because of association with ungodly and evil people.

No wonder, there are many warnings against this attitude in both old and new testaments. See some of them.

Deuteronomy 7:3-4 Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son. 7:4 For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.
Depart from me, ye evildoers [ wicked people and sinners ]: for I will keep the commandments [ decrees and laws ] of my God. – Psalms 119:115
Isaiah 52:11 Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD.
1Co 15:33. Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
2Co 6:14 — 2Co 6:18. Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
Ephesians 5:10-12 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. 5:12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

It was implicit obedience on the part of king David to these exhortations that made him take the stance he took at this time. See it yourself.

Depart from me, ye evildoers [ wicked people and sinners ]: for I will keep the commandments [ decrees and laws ] of my God. – Psalms 119:115

Beloved see this same passage in other Bible version’s.

NLT
Psalms 119:115 Get out of my life, you evil-minded people, for I intend to obey the commands of my God.

AMP BIBLE
Psalm 119:115 Depart from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the commandments of my God [hearing, receiving, loving, and obeying them.

See the same passage amplified.

Depart from me, ye evildoers. There is no fellowship between light and darkness, between righteousness and unrighteousness . Good men must separate themselves from those who are manifestly workers of iniquity . For I will keep the commandments of my God. Association with the wicked hinders men from keeping God’s Law. Not only is there the danger of corruption, but, at the best, attention is distracted, and energies weakened.

King David took this stance because of his strict allegiance to God’s eternal unchanging words.

Psalms 119:106 I have sworn, and I will perform it, that I will keep thy righteous judgments.

I am persuaded of you that you also have taken the same stance. But just in case you have not, do it immediately, to avoid what happened to king Solomon and being sent to hell at eternity.

None of these shall be your portion as you obey the Lord and separate from the ungodly.

1 Corinthians 5:10-11 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

The good Lord shall help you in particular in Jesus name.

Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | February 14, 2021 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | Thou art my hiding place and my shield

Thou art my hiding place [ refuge, shelter, helper and my supporter ] and my shield: I hope [ my source of hope is ] in thy word. - Psalms 119:114
Thou art my hiding place [ refuge, shelter, helper and my supporter ] and my shield: I hope [ my source of hope is ] in thy word. - Psalms 119:114

Thou art my hiding place [ refuge, shelter, helper and my supporter ] and my shield: I hope [ my source of hope is ] in thy word. – Psalms 119:114

Dearly beloved brethren, it is not an exaggeration that many are the afflictions of the righteous.

The truth also is that, they are never ever left alone as a destitute.

They have a dependable refuge. See the following scriptures.

Psalms 46:1-5 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 46:2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 46:3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. 46:4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. 46:5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
Psalms 3:3 But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
Psalms 18:2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
Psalms 27:5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
Psalms 32:7 Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
Psalms 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Proverbs 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
Nahum 1:7 The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
Thou art my hiding place [ refuge, shelter, helper and my supporter ] and my shield: I hope [ my source of hope is ] in thy word. – Psalms 119:114

Beloved even though, king David was plagued with diverse challenges. He had a dependable refuge, that made it absolutely difficult, for his adversaries to catch up with him. See it yourself.

Thou art my hiding place [ refuge, shelter, helper and my supporter ] and my shield: I hope [ my source of hope is ] in thy word. – Psalms 119:114

Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.

Beloved see this scripture in other Bible versions.

NLT
Psalms 119:114 You are my refuge and my shield; your word is my source of hope.

AMP BIBLE
Psalm 119:114 You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word.

See this scripture amplified.

Thou art my Hiding-place And my Shield; ie my protection . I hope in thy Word. The promises contained in thy Word are my only sure hope .

Beloved the confidence of king David revolves around God’s unfailing unchanging and eternal words.

Psalms 18:30 As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.
Psalms 119:43 And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth; for I have hoped in thy judgments.
Thou art my hiding place [ refuge, shelter, helper and my supporter ] and my shield: I hope [ my source of hope is ] in thy word. – Psalms 119:114

Dearly beloved always remember that, even though you might be facing unexplainable conflicts and challenges. You have a dependable refuge.

Proverbs 3:26 For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Hebrews 13:5 -6 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. 13:6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

All you need to do like king David, is to depend on the unfailing promises of God and you shall continue to triumph in Jesus name.

2 Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

The good Lord shall help you in particular in Jesus name.

Thou art my hiding place [ refuge, shelter, helper and my supporter ] and my shield: I hope [ my source of hope is ] in thy word. – Psalms 119:114

I hate vain thoughts [ the double-minded or the Doubting ones ]: but thy law [ commandment, decrees and statues ] do I love. – Psalms 119:113

Dearly beloved brethren, I earnestly pray for you that your walk with God will bring you desired profits here and hereafter in Jesus name.

To help you accomplish this desirable goal, you must abhor something that God hates. It is called double mindedness.

Beloved as you go through the scriptures in both old and new testaments, you will discover the earthly and eternal colossal losses of those that have unstable mind with God. See some references.

Genesis 49:4 Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father’s bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.
1Ki 18:21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.
2Ki 17:33 They feared the Lord, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence.
2Ki 17:41 So these nations feared the Lord, and served their graven images, both their children, and their children’s children: as did their fathers, so do they unto this day.
Hosea 10:2 Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty: he shall break down their altars, he shall spoil their images.
James 1:6-8 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 1:7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Luke 16:13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Revelation 3:15-16 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
I hate vain thoughts [ the double-minded or the Doubting ones ]: but thy law [ commandment, decrees and statues ] do I love. – Psalms 119:113

It was this deplorable attitude that king David abhorred in his walk with God. See it yourself.

I hate vain thoughts [ the double-minded or the Doubting ones ]: but thy law [ commandment, decrees and statues ] do I love. – Psalms 119:113

Beloved brethren see this same passage in other Bible versions.

NLT
Psalms 119:113 I hate those with divided loyalties, but I love your instructions.

AMP BIBLE
Psalm 119:113 I hate the thoughts of undecided [in religion], double-minded people, but Your law do I love.

See this same passage amplified.

I hate vain thoughts; rather, unstable or double-minded men (Kay, Cheyne, Revised Version); ie “those who are undecided in religion” (Cheyne).

This must be your unchanging resolve in your relationship with God.

Remember, He is too faithful, He can not fail, neither will He lie unto you. You can count on His integrity on any words of His.

Isaiah 34:16 Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.
Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
I hate vain thoughts [ the double-minded or the Doubting ones ]: but thy law [ commandment, decrees and statues ] do I love. – Psalms 119:113

Beloved has God promised you something through His words in the Bible or personal revelation? Then throw away every doubt or unbelief.

What He has promised shall surely come to pass, just trust Him and patiently wait for Him.

Luke 1:45 And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.
Hebrews 6:12-15 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. 6:13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, 6:14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. 6:15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

The good Lord shall help you in particular to be wise unto salvation in Jesus name.

I hate vain thoughts [ the double-minded or the Doubting ones ]: but thy law [ commandment, decrees and statues ] do I love. – Psalms 119:113

Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | February 12, 2021 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | I have inclined mine heart to perform thy statutes always, even unto the end

I have inclined mine heart [ I am determined to keep your decrees ] to perform thy statutes always, even unto the end. - Psalms 119:112
I have inclined mine heart [ I am determined to keep your decrees ] to perform thy statutes always, even unto the end. - Psalms 119:112

I have inclined mine heart [ I am determined to keep your decrees ] to perform thy statutes always, even unto the end. – Psalms 119:112

I have inclined mine heart [ I am determined to keep your decrees ] to perform thy statutes always, even unto the end. – Psalms 119:112

Dearly beloved brethren, there is a world of difference between a heaven bond Christian and an empty professor of religion.

The heaven bond Christian is always mindful of the eternal gains awaiting him or her in heaven. So whenever such people are confronted with any challenges, they resolved to endure the difficulties, for them not to forfeit, their eternal inheritances.

1 Peter 1:4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

We are grateful to God for the exemplary lifestyle of our Lord Jesus Christ. He was confronted with divers challenges, during His earthly ministry, but His mindset was on the eternal inheritances awaiting Him.

Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

This also have been the attitude of Bible believing believers in Bible days and this same should be your own attitude too.

Romans 8:16 -18 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
I have inclined mine heart [ I am determined to keep your decrees ] to perform thy statutes always, even unto the end. – Psalms 119:112

So such believers have counted the cost and they have resolved to follow the Lord through thick and thin, without looking back. Receive grace to do so in Jesus name.

See the following scriptures which are personal resolutions of such Bible believing believers.

1. Counted the cost

Luke 14:25- 33 And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them, 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. 14:27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. 14:28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? 14:29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, 14:30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. 14:31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? 14:32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace. 14:33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

2. No looking back.

Luke 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

3. Endure the difficulties to the end.

Acts 14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
Mark 13:13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

4. Cleave to God through thick and thin to follow Him to the end.

Acts 11:23 Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
Revelation 14:4-5 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. 14:5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.
John 6:66-68 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. 6:67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? 6:68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. 6:69 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.
Romans 8:35-38 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 8:36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
I have inclined mine heart [ I am determined to keep your decrees ] to perform thy statutes always, even unto the end. – Psalms 119:112

These biblical stances were the resolve of king David at this point.

He was willing to be obedient to God’s words at whatever cost, to the end of his life. See it yourself.

I have inclined mine heart [ I am determined to keep your decrees ] to perform thy statutes always, even unto the end. – Psalms 119:112

See this same passage in other Bible versions.

NLT
Psalms 119:112 I am determined to keep your decrees to the very end.

AMP BIBLE
Psalm 119:112 I have inclined my heart to perform Your statutes forever, even to the end.

See this same passage amplified.

King David, here in a most affectionate manner, like an Israelite indeed, resolves to stick to the word of God and to live and die by it. With constancy and perseverance. He would perform God’s statutes always, in all instances, in the duty of every day, in a constant course of holy walking, and this to the end, without weariness. This is following the Lord fully.

I have inclined mine heart [ I am determined to keep your decrees ] to perform thy statutes always, even unto the end. – Psalms 119:112

Beloved, see how the following vscriptures affirmed his lifelong unchanging resolve to abide by the word of God through thick and thin.

Psalms 119:34 Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart.
Psalms 119:44 So shall I keep thy law continually for ever and ever.

Dearly beloved, this must be your resolution too, like king David, that God’s unfailing unchanging and eternal words shall have finality and regulate your life till Christ comes.

Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

The good Lord shall help you in particular in Jesus name.

I have inclined mine heart [ I am determined to keep your decrees ] to perform thy statutes always, even unto the end. – Psalms 119:112
