Dearly beloved brethren, the blessed Holy Spirit here reveals to all the Bible believing believers of all ages and that includes you, the importance of the illustration of the body with its members

This was done, to set forth the mutual dependence of each members of the Church with each other and how their several gifts and functions, can be used for the well-being of the whole church.

For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. – Romans 12:4-5

1 Corinthians 12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

Beloved brethren, Christ Jesus our Lord, is the head of the church.

Christ is regarded, as the exalted Head over the Church which is his body.

Ephesians 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 1:23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Ephesians 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Ephesians 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 5:30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

However, the head is not thus separated from the rest of the body the whole is “one body in Christ,”

Beloved brethren, no one of the body of Christ, can be a a lone ranger. None can function individually without working together with the rest of the bodies.

1 Corinthians 12:14 For the body is not one member, but many. 12:15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 12:16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 12:17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? 12:18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. 12:19 And if they were all one member, where were the body? 12:20 But now are they many members, yet but one body. 12:21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. 12:22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: 12:23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. 12:24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked: 12:25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. 12:26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. 12:27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

Dearly beloved brethren, to help you to function effectively, and be fulfilled, you must as a matter of compulsion, join with the others in the body of Christ.

Hebrews 10:25
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

For I say, For I say, through the grace given unto me according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. - Romans 12:3

Beloved brethren, you need not envy any creature of God. This is because you are wonderfully made.

Psalms 139:14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

And God invested in your life, treasures that made you distinct than any other person.

He put in you in particular a measure of faith that made you to be unusual. See it yourself.

So, because of this, never ever give room for pride, so you don’t fall into the same condemnation of satan.

1 Timothy 3:6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

Pride is a sin that is bred in the bone of all humanity and that includes you.

You, therefore need to be cautioned and armed against it,. Because of its consequences now and at eternity.

Pro 11:2
When pride cometh, then cometh shame:but with the lowly is wisdom.

Dan 4:37
Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.

For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Beloved you are under compulsion to caution yourself against pride for you in particular not to think of yourself more highly than you ought to think.

You must take heed of having too great an opinion of yourself, or putting too high a valuation upon your own judgments, abilities, persons, performances.

You must not be self-conceited, nor esteem too much your own wisdom and other attainments, not think yourself to be something,

But, on the other hand, you should think soberly, that is, you must have a low and modest opinion of yourself and your own abilities, your gifts and graces, according to what you have received from God, and not otherwise. See what the scriptures says.

Romans 12:16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

Philippians 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. 2:4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

Galatians 6:3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

You must not exercise yourself in things too high for you.

Psalms 131:1 Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me. 131:2 Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child.

You must take heed of this, and labour after that knowledge which tends to sobriety, to the rectifying of the heart and the reforming of the life.

2 Corinthians 10:13 But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you. 10:14 For we stretch not ourselves beyond our measure, as though we reached not unto you: for we are come as far as to you also in preaching the gospel of Christ:

It is good for you to be wise, but it is bad to think yourself wiser than others.

This is because there is more hope of a fool than of him that is wise in his own eyes.

Proverbs 3:7
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

Proverbs 12:15
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

Proverbs 26:12
Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

Isaiah 5:21
Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!

The reasons why you must have such a sober opinion of yourself, your own abilities and attainments, are these:–

(1.) Because whatever you have that is good, God hath dealt it to you. Every good and perfect gift comes from above,

James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

What have you that you have not received? And, if you have received it, why then do you boast?

1 Corinthians 4:7 For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?

The best and most useful man in the world is no more, no better, than what the free grace of God makes him every day.

When you are thinking of yourself, you must remember to think not how you attained, as though by your might and your power you have gotten all these gifts .

But think how kind God hath been to you, for it is he that gives you in particular, power to do any thing that is good, and in him is all your sufficiency.

So never think yourself highly than others.

Beloved brethren, God’s eternal unfailing unchanging infallible Words forbids Bible believing believers of all ages, from the time of the earthly ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ, not to love the world and never ever to be conformed to it.

John 17:14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17:15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. 17:16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

John 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. 15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. 15:21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me. 15:22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin. 15:23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also. 15:24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. 15:25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

After the ascension of Christ, the blessed Holy Spirit, through the apostles, continue to reinforce the teachings of Christ on , not loving the world or conformity to it. See some of them.

1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Beloved brethren, worldliness is not limited to your dressing, it means more.

Worldliness is conformity to the world and it’s principles and practices.

No wonder, the blessed Holy Spirit gives all Bible believing believers like you, never ever to be conformed to the world. See it again.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Dearly beloved, see the biblical descriptions of the worldly or worldliness.

Worldliness is a commitment to :
self, selfishness, fleshly gratification. Worldly principles and practices.
Carnality ,Sensuality Selfish ambitions.
Selfish techniques.
Conformity with the world .

Worldliness is a comformity to the world in ambition, utterance, business practices, plans, thoughts and ,your decisions and marriage plans and appearance. Lifestyle.

Worldliness is not just dressing. , but is part of it.

Worldliness start from the heart.and manifest in
carnality and sensuality.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. – Romans 12:2

Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

The following are scriptures that affirms worldliness and conformity with the world.

1. Lovers of self.

2 Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

2. Carnality and sensuality:

To desire to be like others, not minding the will of God.

1 Samuel 8:4 Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah, 8:5 And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.

1 Samuel 8:6 But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD. 8:7 And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. – Romans 12:2

Carnality in behaviour.

1 Corinthians 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. 3:2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. 3:3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
1 Corinthians 3:4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?

Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

3. Using deception to acquire positions or selfish ambition.

Matthew 20:20 Then came to him the mother of Zebedee’s children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him. 20:21 And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom.

4 . Using worldly techniques to achieve your goals and marriage plans.

Numbers 14:1 And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night. 14:2 And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness! 14:3 And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt? 14:4 And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.

Luke 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. 17:27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. 17:28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; 17:29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. 17:30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. 17:31 In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back. 17:32 Remember Lot’s wife.

5. Worldly dressing and licentious lifetime.

2 Kings 9:30
And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window.

Isaiah 3:16 Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet: 3:17 Therefore the LORD will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will discover their secret parts. 3:18 In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon, 3:19 The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers, 3:20 The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings, 3:21 The rings, and nose jewels, 3:22 The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins, 3:23 The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails. 3:24 And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.

Disregarding godly instructions on dressing.

Deuteronomy 22:5 The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.

1 Corinthians 11:5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. 11:6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.

1 Timothy 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

Dearly beloved brethren to help you not to be conformed to the world and worldly principles and practices, Jesus paid a gruesome death to deliver you and the blessed Holy Spirit gave you wise instructions to help you.

1. Jesus’s deliverance.through Jesus’s vicarious sacrifice.

Galatians 1:4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

2 Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. – Romans 12:2

2. Instructions from the blessed Holy Spirit.

Deuteronomy 32:29 O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

Deuteronomy 12:8 Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes.

Deuteronomy 18:9 When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.

1 John 5:19
And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

Living a crucified lifestyle.

Galatians 6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

John 12:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

John 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

Not living in pleasure and not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers.

1 Timothy 5:6
But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.

2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 6:15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 6:18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Beloved brethren, always remember , never ever forget. You are commanded not to be conformed to the world.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. – Romans 12:1

Beloved brethren, just like our Lord gave His followers of all ages and you in particular, eternity defining truths on the sermon on the mount, so also the blessed Holy Spirit did same through apostle Paul in the book of Romans chapter twelve. See this yourself.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. – Romans 12:1

The blessed Holy Spirit said, I beseech you therefore. He said so, because of vital important truths that have been revealed, before chapter twelve. See some of them.

1. All believers and you are called to saintliness.

Romans 1:7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

2. The gospel is the power of God.

1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

3. All believers and you in particular are to live by faith.

1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

4. All believers are under compulsion to know the entire truths of the Bible. This is because, your not knowing any truth does not absolve you from its consequences.

1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

5. The resolve of vast majority of people all over the world, not to retain the knowledge of God in their lives

1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

6. There is no respect of persons with God.

Romans 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God.

7. God has at His disposal adequate resources through which all humanity from the outset of creation to the end of time, shall be judged.

2:12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

8. Jesus Christ our Lord, shall judge and decide where all humanity, including you shall spend eternity.

2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

9. All humanity have sinned and all can be saved through faith in the finished works of Christ on the cross of Calvary.

Romans 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

10 All believers including you are dead to sin and should be living a lifestyle free from all sins. You and all believers are to be walking in newness of life and biblical holiness.

Romans 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. 6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

11. All believers including you are free from all condemnation after receiving Christ and not to be walking after the flesh.

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

12. Confession of Christ is the pathway to biblical salvation.

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. – Romans 12:1 6.

Beloved brethren, because of all of these, the blessed Holy Spirit therefore says, the way to reasonable and acceptable service before God, is to present your bodies a living sacrifice. See this yourself.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. – Romans 12:1 6.

This becomes absolutely necessary, because, the first thing you shall be doing when you meet Christ at eternity, is to tell Him, what you do with your body.

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Beloved brethren, if you really want to be part of the dawning rapture, then you must use your bodies to do, only what you and Christ, can do together.

1 Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

No wonder, apostle Paul said, he and every wise and heaven bound believers shall put their bodies under the subjection of the blessed Holy Spirit and the scriptures.

1 Corinthians 9:27
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Dearly beloved brethren, both in the old and new testaments, the Bible reveals how Bible believing believers should present their bodies a living sacrifice. See them.

Old testament.

Psalms 15:1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? 15:2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. 15:3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. 15:4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not. 15:5 He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

Isaiah 33:15 He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil; 33:16 He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure. 33:17 Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off.

New testament.

And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. – Matthew 7:28-29

Beloved brethren, as we round up, the teachings of Christ on the sermon on the mount. You should be eternally grateful to Him for the insightful and eternity defining truth, He revealed to you in particular.

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Matthew 13:16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. 13:17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

In addition, you should make a firm resolution to commit yourself to doing them, till He comes.

Exodus 24:7 And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient.

It is amazing that all the people that heard Him, when the sermon was taught were astonished.

This was because, He taught with authority and firmness, unlike the scribes and Pharisees. See this yourself.

However, this same astonishment were the experience of His hearers, every time Jesus taught, during His earthly ministry. See some of the instances.

Matthew 13:54 And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?

Mark 6:2 And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?

Luke 4:22 And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph’s son?

Luke 4:32 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.

Luke 19:47 And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him, 19:48 And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.

John 7:15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?

John 7:45 Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him? 7:46 The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.

No wonder, Nicodemus called Him, the teacher coming from God

John 3:1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 3:2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

Our Lord was recognised as a renowned teacher of God’s eternal unfailing words of God.

Matthew 22:16 And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.

He was committed to teaching God’s infallible Words and not telling stories, like the ministers of today. See for yourself.

Matthew 4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

Matthew 9:35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

The reason why Jesus taught authoritatively, was because, He was the Prophet with the final word, whose words must be heard and obeyed.

Deuteronomy 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. 18:19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

Acts 3:20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: 3:21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. 3:22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. 3:23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

Matthew 17:5
While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

Mark 9:7
And there was a clou¢d that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

Hebrews 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Apart from this, His words shall not pass away.

Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Also anyone and everyone that rejects His words, shall be damned eternally.

John 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. 12:47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. 12:49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. 12:50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

However, whenever. His words are received, embraced and applied, it makes the person wise here and hereafter.

And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. – Matthew 7:28-29

This is what you should do and you shall be wise here and hereafter in Jesus mighty name. See it yourself.

Matthew 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 7:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Remember, don’t ever forget. He Himself is the living Word, the spoken Word and the written Word. He is the Word personified. See the following scriptures.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.

1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

Revelation 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 19:12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

Because of this understanding you have about Him, don’t be astonished like the people that heard Him, but be obedient to His entire words and you shall be blessed here and hereafter.

Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Jeremiah 7:23 But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man which built his house... - Matthew 7:24-27

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. – Matthew 7:24-27

Beloved brethren, it is very very easy to know a wise person in God’s kingdom.

Dearly beloved, it is very very easy to know whether you in particular, is one of the wise followers of Jesus Christ, our Lord.

In addition it is very very easy to know whether you are one of the brethren of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Anyone and everyone, who listens to the teachings of Christ and wholeheartedly commit himself to doing and following them is wise, a person who builds his or her house on solid rock.

Luke 11:28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

Luke 8:21 And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

Luke 6:47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: 6:48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

Pause here and sincerely examine yourself. Are you a wise person according to the biblical exposition above?

Your response should be affirmative yes. But if it is no, then, you must repent immediately, because the consequence of what you are doing is eternal and very very costly.

Luke 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

The good Lord shall help you in particular in Jesus name.

The hearers of Christ’s word are here divided into two groups.

Some that hear, and do what they hear others that hear and do not.

Christ our Lord, during His earthly ministry, preached to a mixed multitude, and he thus separates them, one from the other, as he will at the great day, when all nations shall be gathered before him.

Matthew 25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 25:32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 25:33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

Beloved brethren, God’s eternal, unfailing and unchanging words are His wisdom. See this scripture yourself.

Deuteronomy 4:6 Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

Psalms 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

Psalms 119:99 I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.

Psalms 119:130 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

Proverbs 10:8 The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.

James 3:13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. 3:14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 3:15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 3:16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 3:18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

No wonder, our Lord liken anyone and everyone, who are committed to hearing and doing the entirety of God’s unfailing unchanging eternal words in the Bible to a wise person.

On the other hand, however, He likens anyone and everyone who hears His words but fails to doing them, as a foolish person.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father – Matthew 7:21-23

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. – Matthew 7:21-23

Dearly beloved brethren, we come to the crown of the teaching of the sermon on the mount.

Beloved brethren, because of your precious undying soul, please give utmost attention to this teaching.

There is something you must know about God and Jesus, that you must not forget or trivialise.

The blessed Holy Spirit says, knowing the terror of the Lord, we persuade men.

2 Corinthians 5:11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

This particular teaching, reveals the true picture of God the Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.

Both are full of infinite love and compassion, but at the same time manifest fearsome, fathomless and impeccable justice. See the following scriptures.

Micah 7:18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. 7:19 He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

Romans 11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

Hebrews 10:31
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Hebrews 12:28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire.

You must always remember that God is no respecter of persons.

Acts 10:34
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

Remember Lucifer was a very important archangel in heaven, before, when he sinned against God, he was punished and driven out of heaven forever.

In the same token, Moses was a privileged servant of God, when he failed to carry out, God’s instruction, he was denied entering the promised land.

Indeed God is not a respecter of persons. Don’t ever forget.

Romans 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God

The reason why many Bible believing believers and ministers of God shall end up in hell, is because, they take God for granted.

It is a very good thing to serve the Lord. It is exciting and very very rewarding. .

1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Colossians 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; 3:24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

Revelation 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Please be occupied till He comes.

Luke 19:13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.

However, God is more interested in your lifestyle than your labour.

He is interested in your walking with Him than your working for Him.

The reason why multitude of churchgoers and nonchalant ministers shall be denied heaven, according to Jesus, will be because they tirelessly laboured for God, while they were walking in outright disobedience.

They were working for God but not walking with God. They felt they could placate God with their sacrifice, while living in shameful disobedience.

1 Samuel 15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. – Matthew 7:21-23

Dearly beloved brethren, you must never ever fall a victim of this misdoing

The consequence is very costly and irreversible at eternity. See this yourself again.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? Beloved, to live eternally with God in heaven, you are under compulsion to obey this all important, eternity defining scripture. See it.

2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

The reasons for this are :

1. Jesus hated iniquity.

Hebrews 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. 1:9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

2. He died a shameful, painful, gruesome death, because of iniquities of humanity in totality.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

3. Jesus redeemed us from iniquities.

Tit 2:14
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

On this side of heaven, iniquities have costly avoidable consequences.

Iniquities open doors for the following:

1. Sicknesses and untimely death.

Psalms 107:17 Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted. 107:18 Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.

Avoidable satanic afflictions.

Psalms 119:67 Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.

Unanswered prayers.

Isaiah 59:1 Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

Hinders good things from God.

Jeremiah 5:25 Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.

Ruins good things in the life, family and source of livelihood.

Ezekiel 18:30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. – Matthew 7:21-23

Lastly, it closes door of eternity against nominal churchgoers and nonchalant ministers. See this yourself again.

Beware of false prophets in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. – Matthew 7:15-20

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. – Matthew 7:15-20

Beloved brethren, one of the prominent signs of Christ’s second coming is the proliferation of false prophets.

No wonder, Jesus Christ our Lord personally warned severally about the ills of false prophets. See some of them.

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

Matthew 24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 24:25 Behold, I have told you before. 24:26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

The blessed Holy Spirit also sounded alarm about the ills of false prophets, both in the old and new testaments. See some of them.

Warning in the old testament.

Deuteronomy 13:1 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, 13:2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; 13:3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. 13:4 Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him. 13:5 And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.

Jeremiah 5:31 The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?

Jeremiah 23:16 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD. 23:17 They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.

Jeremiah 23:21 I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. 23:22 But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings. 23:23 Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off? 23:24 Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD. 23:25 I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed. 23:26 How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart; 23:27 Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal. 23:28 The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD. 23:29 Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? 23:30 Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that steal my words every one from his neighbour. 23:31 Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He saith. 23:32 Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD.

Warning in the new testament.

2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2:2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 2:3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

The blessed Holy Spirit further exhorts, Bible believing believers on what to do with the false prophets. See some of them.

Galatians 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 1:7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Philippians 3:17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. 3:18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 3:19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

2 John 1:8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 1:11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. – Matthew 7:13-14

Dearly beloved brethren, this particular teaching of the sermon on the mount, was the greatest wisdom of Christ and the highest reflection of His love for His followers of all ages and that includes you in particular. See this yourself.

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. – Matthew 7:13-14

Our Lord prayed for you to live eternally with Him.

John 17:24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

Because this shall be your own experience, then , you are under compulsion to heed this exhortation, to enter through the strait gate. See it yourself again.

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. – Matthew 7:13-14

This is because you can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate.

The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way.

But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.

The call to enter ye at the strait gate is given because of the bad way of sin, and the good way of holiness.

There are but two ways, right and wrong, good and evil the way to heaven, and the way to hell.

All of us are walking on one of these two roads, no middle place hereafter, no middle way now: the distinction of the children of men into saints and sinners, godly and ungodly, will swallow up all to eternity.

Prior to this time, God the Father had severally called people of old to enter the gate that led to life, the same way, Jesus did. See some of these gracious calls.

Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

Jeremiah 21:8 And unto this people thou shalt say, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death.

Isaiah 35:8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. 35:9 No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there.

Very very unfortunately, just like vast majority of people declined to enter through the strait gate, so also this gracious call by God was despised and rejected. See this yourself.

Jeremiah 6:16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

Jeremiah 7:23 But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you. 7:24 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.

You might be wondering why multitude of churchgoers and sinners declined the strait gate.

It is because the broad road, allures multitudes into it, and keeps them in it, the gate is wide, and the way broad, and there are many travellers in that way.

They shall have abundance of liberty in that way the gate is wide, and stands wide open to tempt those that go right on their way.

They may go in at this gate with all their lusts about them.

The broad gate gives no check to your appetites, to your passions: you may walk in the way of your heart, and in the sight of your eyes that gives room enough.”

It is a broad way, for there is nothing to hedge in those that walk in it, but they wander endlessly on the broad way, for there are many paths in it

There is choice of sinful ways, contrary to each other, but all paths in this broad way.

In addition you will have abundance of company in this way: this is because, many there be that go in at this gate, and walk in this way.”

If you follow the multitude, it will be to do evil: if you go with the crowd, it will be the wrong way.

It is natural for you to incline to go down the stream, and do as the most do but it is too great a compliment, to be willing to be damned for company, and to go to hell with them, because they will not go to heaven with you: if many perish, you should be the more cautious.

Beloved brethren, the reason why you unlike the vast majority of churchgoers must heed this compelling exhortation, is because, only few enters through this strait gate and those that fail to enter shall be eternally damned. See this yourself.

Luke 13:23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, 13:24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. 13:25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: 13:26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. 13:27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

But then, the good news is, even though, this gate is strait, narrow and difficult, it leads to heaven and blissful eternity ultimately.

The gate is strait and the way narrow and up-hill, but one hour in heaven will make amends for it. See it yourself again.

Beloved brethren, how do you enter the strait gate?

Remember, the gate is strait. Conversion and regeneration are the gate, by which you enter into this way.

Then, you begin a life of faith and serious godliness out of a state of sin into a state of grace.

You must pass, by the new birth.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

This is a strait gate, hard to find, and hard to get through.

There must be a new heart, and a new spirit, and old things must pass away.

The bent of the soul must be changed, corrupt habits and customs broken off.

What you have been doing all your days must be undone again. You must swim against the stream much opposition must be struggled with, and broken through, from without, and from within.

It is easier to set a man against all the world than against himself, and yet this must be in conversion.

It is a strait gate, for you must stoop, or you cannot go in at it.

You must become as little children high thoughts must be brought down nay, you must strip, must deny yourself put off the world, put off the old man.

You must be willing to forsake all for your interest in Christ.

The grace of God is sufficient for you in particular to do all that are required to enter the strait gate.

Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. – Matthew 7:13-14

Beloved brethren, I am persuaded you have entered through the strait gate.

But just in case you have not, this is the time to do it, tomorrow might be too late.

2 Corinthians 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

Isaiah 55:6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

The good Lord shall help you in particular to be wise to heed this urgent and time bound exhortation in Jesus mighty name. See it yourself again.

Dearly beloved brethren, this particular teaching on the sermon on the mount, is another milestone that makes you, a Bible believing believer, to be wise.

You must of a compulsion be doing to others whatever you would like them to be doing to you.

Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.

So then, whatever you desire that others would do to and for you, even so do also to and for them, for this is (sums up) the Law and the Prophets.

Our Lord Jesus used this particular teaching on the mount, to impress it on all Bible believing believers like you, that righteousness towards men which is an essential branch of true religion, and that religion towards God which is an essential branch of universal righteousness, is the summary of all that is taught in the law and prophets.

Leviticus 19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

Zechariah 8:16 These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates: 8:17 And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD.

Matthew 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 22:38 This is the first and great commandment. 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. – Matthew 7:12

You must make righteousness your rule, and be ruled by it,

Romans 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

You must not only be devout, but honest, else your devotion is but hypocrisy.

Ezekiel 18:5 But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right, 18:6 And hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither hath defiled his neighbour’s wife, neither hath come near to a menstruous woman, 18:7 And hath not oppressed any, but hath restored to the debtor his pledge, hath spoiled none by violence, hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment; 18:8 He that hath not given forth upon usury, neither hath taken any increase, that hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity, hath executed true judgment between man and man, 18:9 Hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord GOD.

In addition, our Lord exhorts His followers of all ages, especially you on what you are to know and believe, but also what you are to be doing.

Amos 5:14 Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken. 5:15 Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.

Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. – Matthew 7:12

What you are to be doing, not only toward God, but also toward men.

Not only towards our brethren in the church but also towards men in general, all with whom you have to do.

Jeremiah 7:5 For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour; 7:6 If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt: 7:7 Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever.

Galatians 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

The golden rule of equity is, to be doing to others as you would want them to be doing to you.

Luke 6:31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

Mark 12:29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 12:31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

1 Timothy 1:5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. – Matthew 7:12

Beloved brethren, this is the essence of biblical holiness and true righteousness. Be determinedly doing to others as you would want them to be doing to you. See it yourself again.
