Dearly beloved brethren, this is the Crux of the matter in Christendom. This is one major reason why many who profess religion, find it difficult to obey God.
Apart from the difficulties and afflictions that comes the way of God’s faithfil believers, this is one challenge, that grace of God, helps you to do.
Many times, obeying the word of God, brings you to ridicle, reproach and shame. This was the challenge, before king David. See it
Remove from me [ take away ] reproach, scorn, insults and contempt; for I have kept thy testimonies. – Psalms 119:22
Jesus Christ our Lord suffered ridicle and shame. See it.
Isaiah 50:6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.
Isaiah 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Matthew 11:19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.
Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Beloved, our Lord informed all believers of all ages especially you, that, obeying Him, implicitly shall cause you, ridicle and shame.
Mat 5:11 — Mat 5:12 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
Jn 16:1 — Jn 16:2 These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.
Remove from me [ take away ] reproach, scorn, insults and contempt; for I have kept thy testimonies. – Psalms 119:22
The blessed Holy Spirit says, obeying God’s Words will sometimes bring you into unavoidable reproach.
Psalms 44:22 Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.
Rom 8:35 — Rom 8:36 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
2 Corinthians 4:11 For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
Remove from me [ take away ] reproach, scorn, insults and contempt; for I have kept thy testimonies. – Psalms 119:22
But then, God’s grace was sufficient for Paul apostle, it will be sufficient for you too..
2Co 12:9 — 2Co 12:10 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
If you are presently being reproached for the name of Christ, reach out to Him for succour and help at the throne of grace and He will strengthen you.
Remove from me [ take away ] reproach, scorn, insults and contempt; for I have kept thy testimonies. – Psalms 119:22
