And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold. And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.
Beloved, chapter nineteen gives us the revelation of the earnest desire of all believers. A glorious privilege of getting married to our Bridegroom, Jesus Christ our Lord. It shall not elude you in particular in Jesus name.
We will consider the first ten verses that focuses on the marriage supper of the Lamb.
Rev 19:1 — Rev 19:10 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever. And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia. And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
This chapter opens with another glorious revelation. See it.
Revelation 19:1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:
In the previous chapter, he saw the judgement of the great whore. It was full of woes.
But as he comes to chapter nineteen, it is now the voice of joy of the redeemed. The twenty four elders, the church. The bride of Christ, getting set for the marriage with the Bridegroom.
They are full of joy and they said alleluia.
Alleluia is a combination of three Hebrew words and it means
praise ye the Lord.
This word is used mostly in worship and praise and so you find the word in the Psalms In expression of praise to God.
Psalms 106:48 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the Lord.
Psalms 111:1 Praise ye the Lord. I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.
Psalms 113:1 Praise ye the Lord. Praise, O ye servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord.
Psalms 113:9 He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the Lord.
Psalms 146:1 Praise ye the Lord. Praise the Lord, O my soul.
Psa 146:8 — Psa 146:10 The Lord openeth the eyes of the blind: the Lord raiseth them that are bowed down: the Lord loveth the righteous: The Lord preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down. The Lord shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye the Lord.
Psalms 148:1 Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the Lord from the heavens: praise him in the heights.
Psa 148:13 — Psa 148:14 Let them praise the name of the Lord: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven. He also exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye the Lord.
This same word alleluia is used four times in the new testament. The four times are seen in the book of Revelation and in this chapter nineteen alone. See this. God is praised by saints for His great works. His righteous judgement.

The saints praised the Lord for judging Babylon.
As you go through the scriptures, God is always praised for judging evil doers.. Let see some instances.
Remember when God delivered Israel from the pursuit of Pharaoh and his hosts pursing God’s people. They praised the Lord.
Exo 15:1 — Exo 15:2 Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the Lord, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea. The Lord is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
Exodus 15:7 And in the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown them that rose up against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath, which consumed them as stubble. When the Lord delivered them at another time in the days of Barak
Judg 5:1 — Judg 5:2 Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day, saying, Praise ye the Lord for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves.
Judges 5:13 Then he made him that remaineth have dominion over the nobles among the people: the Lord made me have dominion over the mighty.
One other thing you discover as the saints in heaven praise the Lord, is that the praise is directed to God Himself. Always remember when you share testimony, let the praise be addressed to God Himself. Let it be Christ centered. Don’t praise the preacher or your very self.

The first thing you see in this chapter is the reasons for the majestic song of saints.

There are four major reasons why they praise God and shouted alleluia.
1. Salvation of God. He saved His people. God provided full salvation.
2. Severity of judgement against Babylon. Judgement of all unrepentant sinners at all
times.
3. Sovereignty of God. He has all the power. Nobody can resist His power.
Revelation 19:4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.
4. Supremacy of God. He is the most high God. He is highly exalted.
Rev 19:5 — Rev 19:6 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
The reason for the shout of alleluia.
1. Salvation provided.for God’s people of all ages.
Revelation 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
Rev 7:10 — Rev 7:17 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen. And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. God is praised because He shall Judge the wickedness of satan against His people.
Rev 16:5 — Rev 16:7 And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy. And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments. God is praised because He has the final say over everything. He has the final say over everything that affects His people. Wicked people don’t have final say over the saints.
Mal 1:4 — Mal 1:5 Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the Lord of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the Lord hath indignation for ever. And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, The Lord will be magnified from the border of Israel.
Rev 4:8 — Rev 4:11 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
Rev 5:9 — Rev 5:14 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.
Beloved this gathering of praise shall not elude you in particular in Jesus name.
Second thing you discover from this chapter nineteen is the readiness for the marriage supper.
Revelation 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
Christ is the bridegroom. The church is the bride. The believers are the bride.
Mat 9:14 — Mat 9:15 Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not? And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.
Jn 3:27 — Jn 3:30 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him. He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. He must increase, but I must decrease.
Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Ephesians 5:32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
The church is the bride and Jesus our Bridegroom.
2 Corinthians 11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
You might be wondering whether any old testament saints shall be part of this gathering.
The answer is no. Only the redeemed bought with the blood of Jesus. The church purchased by the blood of Jesus alone shall be there. They are virgins.
But then you say Israel is the wife of Jehovah.
Isaiah 54:5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the Lord of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called
But then Israel was unfaithful. They are no more virgins. Even though, they shall be saved ultimately, they are no more virgins.
Romans 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
The church alone is the virgin of Christ. Who have not left the Lord to go to commit sin.
2 Corinthians 11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
The church alone is the ready bride
Eph 5:25 — Eph 5:27 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
Beloved, you shall be part of this gathering, but you must be watchful to be ready
Mar 13:32 — Mar 13:37 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
Luk 12:31 — Luk 12:32 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Luk 12:35 — Luk 12:37 Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately. Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.
Luk 21:34 — Luk 21:36 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
1Jo 3:1 — 1Jo 3:3 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
Revelation 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
How are you going to be ready?
1. Be Converted. Genuine biblical salvation.
2. Be Clean and cleansed
3. Be Clothed in the garment of righteousness.
4. Be Consecrated and committed to the Lord
5. Cleaving to the Lord
6. Be Courageous to say no to satan and yes to the Lord.
7. Be a Covenant keeping bride
Revelation 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
Lastly, you must have righteousness of multitude of saints. To be part of the twenty four elders or rapture ready. See it yourself.
You need righteousness of saints. To be more and more like the master.
Rev 19:8 — Rev 19:9 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
Not the righteous of the Pharisee.
Matthew 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 23:28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
Luke 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
This righteousness can be received by you from the Lord..
Romans 4:3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
Isaiah 61:10 I will rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness,as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
You give him your sin and He gives you His righteousness.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Rom 4:6 — Rom 4:8 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
Rom 4:22 — Rom 4:24 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.
Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;
Righteousness that is permanent and always there
Luk 1:74 — Luk 1:75 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, In holiness and righteousness before him,all the days of our life.
This is made possible as you commit yourself to doing all these:
Reconcile to the Lord
Restored and restoring your relationship with others.
Righteous
Renewed
Resting in God
Rapture ready
Rewardable
Rev 19:8 — Rev 19:9 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
Don’t forget only the twenty four elders, the raptured church shall be there. See it yourself.
Revelation 19:4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.
So endeavor to be saved, separated, sanctified, set apart for the glory of the Lord. All of these shall secure your seat among the twenty four elders apostle John saw in the revelation Jesus showed him. It shall be so in Jesus name.
