Dearly beloved brethren, one great lesson you learn from our Lord Jesus Christ, was His prompt implicit obedience to God.
He was obedient to death.
Please decisively follow this exemplary lifestyle of out Lord, it will earn you tremendous blessings here and hereafter.
Philippians 2:5-8 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Hebrews 5:7-8 I am afflicted very much: quicken me [ revive, rejuvenate ], O LORD, according unto thy word [ commandment and statutes ]. – Psalms 119:107 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
I am afflicted very much: quicken me [ revive, rejuvenate ], O LORD, according unto thy word [ commandment and statutes ]. – Psalms 119:107
In addition, you discover that Abraham, received sworn blessings from God, for his prompt implicit obedience to God. See this.
Genesis 22:15-18 And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, 22:16 And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: 22:17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; 22:18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.
In fact the scriptures says Bible believing believers like you should obey God and you shall be mightily blessed by Him.
Jeremiah 7:23 But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you
So make a firm resolution henceforth to make haste to obey God in all things.
Psalms 119:60 I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments.
But then remember this. Don’t ever ever forget. Obeying God’s unfailing unchanging eternal words, sometimes shall put you into unavoidable persecution according to the word of out Lord Jesus Christ.
John 17:14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
I am afflicted very much: quicken me [ revive, rejuvenate ], O LORD, according unto thy word [ commandment and statutes ]. – Psalms 119:107
This was the predicament of king David . He was determined to be obedient to God’s unfailing unchanging eternal words at all times and it brought him, so much afflictions. See it.
I am afflicted very much: quicken me [ revive, rejuvenate ], O LORD, according unto thy word [ commandment and statutes ]. – Psalms 119:107
See this scripture amplified.
I am afflicted very much (. Spoken against by princes, reproached by the proud, persecuted without a cause, the psalmist felt his “affliction” to be grievous, almost intolerable. Being brought near to death, he prays for a “little reviving.” Quicken me, O Lord, according unto thy Word
Beloved, see how other scriptures affirmed, afflictions of king David, because of his obedience to God’s eternal words.
Psalms 119:23 Princes also did sit and speak against me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes.
Psalms 119:28 My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word.
Psalms 119:50 This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me.
Psalms 119:51 The proud have had me greatly in derision: yet have I not declined from thy law.
Psalms 119:61 The bands of the wicked have robbed me: but I have not forgotten thy law.
Psalms 119:71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.
Psalms 119:78 Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: but I will meditate in thy precepts.
But then, the irony of this issue for king David and every other Bible believing believers like you is that, the same word that brings afflictions, is also the sure way of deliverance from the much afflictions.
This is because heaven and earth shall pass away, God’s unfailing unchanging promises shall be fulfilled. See the following scriptures.
I am afflicted very much: quicken me [ revive, rejuvenate ], O LORD, according unto thy word [ commandment and statutes ]. – Psalms 119:107
ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
2Pe 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
I am afflicted very much: quicken me [ revive, rejuvenate ], O LORD, according unto thy word [ commandment and statutes ]. – Psalms 119:107
Praise God, king David was delivered from his adversaries. As you also chose to be obedient to God, His unfailing promises shall deliver you from all your challenges in Jesus name.
Psalms 34:5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
Isaiah 50:10 Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God.
2 Timothy 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
2 Corinthians 1:10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;
Dearly beloved, continue to render prompt and implicit obedience to God and His unfailing promises shall avail for you here and hereafter in Jesus name.
