PRAY FOR THEM | KnowingJESUS Daily Devotional

September 2, 2019 – Enrich and Sustain your relationship with Jesus reading our daily devotional – Ministers of the Gospel needs your prayer too. Instead of accusing them. PRAY FOR THEM.….

2Th 3:1-2   Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.

Beloved, always  remember,  that our Lord  places so much premium on  His  churches  globally.  Because of this, He raised up faithful ministers through which  the churches shall be fed and edified at all times.  These ministers many times are referred to as angel of the  churches.

Revelation 1:20  The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.

The major ministry  of these ministers,  even though  they are used to meet the  immediate  challenges facing the people of God,  like praying for them to be healed or prospered,  they are meant to turn them to righteousness and make them fit to live with God in heaven for  all eternity.

Daniel 12:3  And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

Luke 1:17  And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Beloved,  because these ministers are faithfully preparing the church for eternity with God or readiness  for the  dawning rapture,  they come under severe attacks from the devil and his human agents.

2Th 3:12Th 3:2   Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.

2Co 1:82Co 1:11  For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us; Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf.

This informs why you should earnestly be praying for them to be delivered from the tireless attacks of satan  against their lives and families.

Rom 15:30Rom 15:32  Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me; That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judaea; and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints; That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed.

Beloved  when you pray for them,  their ministries shall bless you here and  hereafter.   In the days of Moses,  Joshua”s victory on the  battle  field  was determined   by the hands of Moses on  the mountain lifting up the rod of God.  Joshua  had victory ultimately because Aaron and Hut lifted  the hands of prayer and support for Moses.

Exo 17:8Exo 17:13  Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim. And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand. So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.

King David at a point in his life would have been killed by a  giant of Philistine  in  retardation  for Goliath  David killed.  But for the prompt  intervention of his soldiers,  he would  have been killed.

2Sa 21:162Sa 21:17  And Ishbibenob, which was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear weighed three hundred shekels of brass in weight, he being girded with a new sword, thought to have slain David. But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel.

Beloved one major thing you can do and delight God us to join in prayers  daily for your minister or any servant of the Lord that God is using to edify  your life. May God find you faithful in Jesus name.
Dearly  beloved, praying for your ministers  is very important if they will have lasting edifying ministry for the church and you in particular.  Prior to our Lord going to the cross  to die for us, He earnestly  requested  prayers  from His disciples.

Mat 26:36Mat 26:40  Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?

To reinforce the importance of the church and that includes you praying for ministers ,  God is using to edify your ministry,  was the reason why the blessed Holy Spirit inspired apostle  Paul to write this very important exhortation.

2Th 3:12Th 3:2   Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.

See how this important exhortation was affirmed  in other scriptures.

Eph 6:18Eph 6:20  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

The need for you to earnestly pray for your ministers  can not be over emphasized because through your prayers God will deliver them from challenges  facing  them and then ,they continue to edify you. Think of  how Peter’s life and ministry  would have been caught short by  King Herod,  the  satanic  agent.
But for the  ceaseless  prayers of the church,  he was delivered.  The few faithful ministers of today  shall also be delivered from satanic attacks ,  if you too will earnestly do what the church in  Bible days did.  I.am persuaded you shall do it and God shall mighty use the ministries of these servants of God to bless you  immensely  in Jesus name.

Act 12:1Act 12:11  Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church. And he killed James the brother of John with the sword. And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.) And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison. And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me. And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision. When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him. And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

Friend, no doubt you are determined to be part of the dawning rapture.  God  shall grant your earnest desire in Jesus name. But then you need the continual encouragement  of God’s servants to keep you on track and to expose you to wiles and subtleties  of satan  that could sway you from your readiness. For this to happen,  you also need to ceaselessly  pray for these servants of God to be preserved from the cruelty of satan and his human agents.

Phi 1:19Phi 1:26  For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you. And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith; That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again.

2Ti 4:172Ti 4:18  Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Friend,  please be encouraged to always pray for every servant of God and His ministers,  through which your spiritual life is being edified.  God bless you for doing so faithfully.

2Th 3:12Th 3:2   Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.
