Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | July 12, 2020 | LESSONS FROM THE BIBLE – PSALMS | REWARD FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS | For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish – Psalms 1:6

Dearly beloved, be excited at all times because your Father in heaven takes so much delight in your ways and have prepared eternal and incorruptible things for you, by the time you shall get to Him.

Psalms 1:6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

1 Peter 1:4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

However, He had also put in place some eternal unchanging decrees that have existed from eternity past and are still subsisting.

The following are some of these unchanging decrees.

1 it says woe to the wicked on this side of heaven.

Isaiah 3:11Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.

2. It says hell is for the wicked at the end of time.

Psalms 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

3. It says everlasting contempt and everlasting punishment awaits the unrighteous.

Matthew 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Daniel 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

4. It says the wicked shall be part of the resurrection of damnation.

John 5:28-29 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

5. It says the unrighteous goes down to the pit of hell after this life.

Proverbs 15:24 The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.

On the contrary, the following decrees also subsist from eternity past and shall be there till the end of time.

1. It says everlasting life and life eternal awaits the righteous.

Matthew 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Daniel 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

2. It says the righteous are blessed on this side of heaven.

Isaiah 3:10 Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

3. It says the righteous shall shine in God’s kingdom forever.

Matthew 13:43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Daniel 12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

4. It says the righteous shall be part of the resurrection of life.

Interestingly the determinant factor for which of the two decrees that shall be the lot of the entire human beings of all ages, is the road they chose to walk among the two roads on this side of heaven.

See the two roads and sincerely check up without any presumption, which of the roads are you walking presently.

Matthew 7:13-14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

I am persuaded that you are walking on the narrow road, so continue till Jesus comes.

But just in case the blessed Holy Spirit says, you are on the other road, reach out to Calvary, repent, be converted and begin to walk in biblical holiness lifestyle.

The grace of God shall avail for you in particular in Jesus name.
