Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | August 12, 2020 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin. – Psalms 38:18

Dearly beloved, there is something you must always remember. The remembrance of it would continually bring joy and awe to you.

Joy because that is who you are. Awe because of the fearsome consequences, if you are not. See it.

Romans 1:7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1Co 1:2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

Beloved the name of the assembly you belong to is not relevant. The most important thing is that all who profess religion in all ages are called to be saints. And that includes you in particular.

There is a world of difference between saints and sinners inside or outside the church.

The destination of saints is different from the destination of sinners .

While saints shall end up with God in heaven.

Isaiah 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

Sinners shall share the same faith with satan in hell fire.

Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
Isaiah 33:14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites.Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?

Beloved pause here and abandon everything to answer this eternity defining question. Are you a saint or a sinner?

The truth is that all sinners without exception inside or outside the church, belong to satan and not God.

1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Dearly beloved, how do you know a saint? How can you in particular affirm your saintliness?

A saint is somebody who was a sinner by birth, but was sorry for His sinful lifestyle and was reconciled to God, through the finished work of Christ on the cross of Calvary.

Psalms 38:18 For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.
Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
1Jo 1:7 — 1Jo 1:10 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Dearly beloved I am persuaded you have done this personally. You have confessed and forsaken your sins and you have been cleansed with the precious blood of Jesus Christ.

Praise God if you have done this. But then if you have not, or you have gone back into sin after your previous reconciliation, then reach out to Calvary and asked the good Lord to save your soul. This you must do now, because tomorrow might be too late.

Isa 55:6 — Isa 55:7 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts:and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
2 Corinthians 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

But then beloved, it doesn’t stop there. There is nothing like once you are saved, you are for ever saved. You must not go back to sinning willfully or carelessly.
You must be obedient to the following scriptures to sustain your relationship with God.

John 5:14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
John 8:11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
1Jo 3:4 — 1Jo 3:9 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

It is very very important for you to remember this and never ever forget.

Whoever continue in careless or willful sin , shall face the fearful consequences of all sinners. This is because, sin has wages, which is death. Eternal separation from God for all eternity. This shall not be your portion in Jesus name

Ezekiel 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Heb 6:4 — Heb 6:6 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
Heb 10:26 — Heb 10:31 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Revelation 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Brethren, Adam was your great, great grand father, please don’t do what he did. Instead of been sorry for his sin. He hid and justified it before God.

Job 31:33 If I covered my transgressions as Adam, by hiding mine iniquity in my bosom:

But then, be like David a man after God’s own heart. He felt sorry for his sins , confessed and forsaken them.

Psalms 38:18 For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.
Psa 51:1 — Psa 51:4 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

Dearly beloved, see what God did, when he penitently repented before God.

2 Samuel 12:13 And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.

King David is presently in heaven, if you too sincerely do what David did, you shall meet him in heaven in Jesus name. So go now and do likewise. God bless you abundantly in Jesus name
