Originally, God walked with man in fellowship and in relationship, but after the disobedience in the garden of eden, they could no longer walk in agreement with God because of their sin. Sin destroys our walk with God.
Amos 3:3. Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
Beloved, the Bible is repleted with cloud of witnesses of saints both in the old and new testaments that profited exceedingly walking in implicit obedience and agreement with God.
Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac , Jacob, Joseph, David, Daniel, Mordecai , Esther, Jesus Christ our Lord, Zechariah and Elizabeth, Peter, John the beloved, Paul etc. All of these saints attainted enviable heights here on earth and also received incorruptible rewards in heaven. Surprisingly, they were all men of like passion like you. So if they could accomplish these enviable attainments, you can not and you must not be left out. You also by the grace of God shall attain same heights like them here and hereafter in Jesus name.
Beloved, you will discover that, right from the outset of creation, God had affectionate passion to walk with humanity.
Genesis 3:8. And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.
Unfortunately, Adam lost this privilege because of his inability to sustain walking in agreement with God. But then many other saints graciously accessed and sustained their holy walk with God and profited. You also shall do same from now on till Jesus comes in Jesus name. For this to be seamlessly done, God usually lovingly at all times explains in details the conditions for this mutually beneficial relationship. See an instance.
1 Kings 9:4-5. And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments: Then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.
Beloved, your Heavenly Father is still desirous to extend this enviable and profitable relationship to humanity of all ages and that includes you. It was this that made Him to inspire Amos the prophet to inform all humanity, till the end of time, the simple condition or basis for accessing and sustaining this mutually beneficial relationship. See it.
Amos 3:3. Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
No doubt you are aware without loving agreement, it will be difficult for husbands and wives to dwell together. Same goes for parents and children, employers and employees, neighbours or friends walking together. But then it is profitable and beneficial to for everyone , especially you, to strive to attain this laudable relationship, like others in Bible days did. See some of them and step out from now to do what they did. The good Lord shall help you in Jesus name.
1.Enoch:
Genesis 5:22-24. And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
Noah
Genesis 6:9: ¶These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
Abraham
Genesis 17:1: And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
Jehoshaphat
2 Chronicles 17:3-5. And the Lord was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto Baalim; But sought to the Lord God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after the doings of Israel. Therefore the Lord stablished the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat presents; and he had riches and honour in abundance
Josiah
2 Chronicles 34:1-3. Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem one and thirty years. And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the ways of David his father, and declined neither to the right hand, nor to the left. For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father: and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images.
David .
Psalms 26:3-6. For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth. I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers. I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked. I will wash mine hands in innocency: so will I compass thine altar, O Lord:
Hezekiah
Isaiah 38:3-6. And said, Remember now, O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. Then came the word of the Lord to Isaiah, saying, Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years. And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city.
Beloved, it is your own turn to shine, so arise and step out walking with God till Jesus comes.
Isaiah 60:1. Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.
Dearly beloved, Jesus our Lord had unequal and unmatched records of a free moral agent that walked with God on this side of heaven. His obedience and holier walk with God earned Him, unprecedented profit from His Father. See some of them.
Hebrews 12:2. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Isaiah 50:4-6. The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned. The Lord God hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back. I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.
Philippians 2:5-11. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
See His inexhaustible walk in implicit obedience with the Father.
Luke 22:41-42. And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
John 4:34. Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
John 6:38. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
John 5:30. I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek
not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
John 8:28-29. Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
John 14:31. But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.
John 17:4. I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
In summary without exaggeration, it could be said, that Jesus our Lord sheepishly followed His Father, the shepherd of Israel.
In the same token, this is His expectations from believers of all ages and you in particular,
to enjoy and profit exceedingly in the same way from Him. Receive grace to do so in Jesus name.
John 10:27-28 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
John 15:7-11. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
2 Corinthians 6:14-18. Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
Believers in Bible days attained this lofty heights with Jesus, it is your own turn, step out and begin to enjoy same.
JESUS PROFITED EXCEEDINGLY WALKING WITH HIS FATHER, DURING HIS EARTHLY MINISTRY. EMULATE HIM.
Friend, walking with God has so much to do with being part of the dawning rapture. Enoch walked with God and was raptured.
Genesis 5:24. And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
Hebrews 11:5. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
Since this is your own desire too, walking with God is: SINE QUA NON. Unfortunately, the worldling and the nominal churchgoers detest walking with God, so partaking in the rapture for them is delusion. See how the scriptures describe them. I am persuaded of you that, you do not fall into this category, but please take time to examine yourself to avoid being presumptions. If you discover resemblance,
quickly repent , before it is too late 1. They hearkened not to God.
Psalms 81:11-16. But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me. So I gave them up unto their own hearts’ lust: and they walked in their own counsels. Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways! I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries. The haters of the Lord should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever. He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.
2. They wilfully and impudently. went backward and not forward when God pleaded with them to walk with Him.
Jeremiah 7:23-26. But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you. But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward. Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day I have even sent unto you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them: Yet they hearkened not unto me, nor inclined their ear, but hardened their neck: they did worse than their fathers.
3. They walked with their hard heartened evil imaginations.
Jeremiah 11:7-8. For I earnestly protested unto your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even unto this day, rising early and protesting, saying, Obey my voice. Yet they obeyed not, nor inclined their ear, but walked every one in the imagination of their evil heart: therefore I will bring upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do; but they did them not.
But then see how the saints of old both in the old and new testaments accomplished enviable heights here on earth, and also easily attained
life eternal with God. Following these examples shall make your earnest desire to be part of the dawning rapture realizable. It shall be do in Jesus name.
1. They walked with God and turned others from iniquities.
Malachi 2:4-7. And ye shall know that I have sent this commandment unto you, that my covenant might be with Levi, saith the Lord of hosts. My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him for the fear wherewith he feared me, and was afraid before my name. The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many away from iniquity. For the priest’s lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.
2. They walked with God by submitting themselves to the quickening of Christ.
Ephesians 2:1-7. And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
3. They followed the lifestyle of Christ in their walk with God on this side of heaven.
1 John 2:6. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
Go and do likewise .
