Knowing the Father should be one of our goal this new year. God wants to be our Father who loves us and cares for us and He holds all power and all wisdom and gives it freely to His children.

Hosea 6:3. Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

Beloved, it is no secret that from the time past till now, multitude of people were desirous to be knowledgeable. Majority of them, discovered many things that benefited them temporarily, because they desired not the knowledge of God.

Romans 1:28. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

The few that have chosen to acquire the knowledge of God and discovered Him, became people of glorious exploits and were immensely benefited both in this life and at eternity.

You must join henceforth, these few wise people. It shall be well with you as you do do in Jesus name.

Daniel 11:32. And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

Two of such people were Moses in the Old Testament and Paul apostle in the New Testament . The greatest lounging of their hearts , in spite of great works that God had done through their hands, were to know more of God.

Exodus 33:13. Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.

Exodus 33:18: And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.

Philippians 3:10. That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

Some other great men, like Daniel and king David knew God so much and encouraged others to follow suit. When king David was dying, because of his personal knowledge of God, he encouraged Solomon his son, who was to reign after him, to pursue the knowledge of God, if he desires to be successful.

This is what you too should do to generations after you.

1 Chron 28:9: ¶And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

Prophet Hosea having had perfect understanding of this,encouraged the children of Israel in his days to pursue the knowledge of God, for their well being.

Hosea 2:20: I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the LORD.

Like Hosea many other prophets encouraged the Israelites on the importance and benefits of knowing the Lord. Let this be your drive also, to know more of God, by discovering Him in His words, as you personally study.

2 Timothy 2:15. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

See some of them.

1. Isaiah :

Isaiah 54:13: And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.

2. Jeremiah :

Jer 9:23-24. ¶Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:

But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.

3. Micah :

Micah 4:2: And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. Now is the time for you too, to join these cloud of witnesses. It is well with you in Jesus name.

Our Lord Jesus Christ, by the reason of His knowledge of His loving and Faithful Father, encouraged believers of all ages and you in particular , to strive to know more of God.

This is because your joy and earthly and eternal gains are dependent on your personal knowledge of God.

John 8:55: Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.

John 17:25: O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. See how He encouraged them.

John 17:3: And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

John 7:17: If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

Matthew 5:6. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

The blessed Holy Spirit also toed the foot part of Jesus, encouraging and revealing the knowledge of God, to faithful brethren, lounging and thirsting after God.

2 Corinthians 4:6: For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 1:17: That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

Colossians 1:10: That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

Hebrews 8:11 -12. And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

2 Peter 3:18: But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

1 John 2:3: And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

1 John 4:6: We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

JESUS’S GREAT DESIRE FOR BELIEVERS OF ALL AGES AND YOU IN PARTICULAR TO KNOW HIS FATHER AND BE BLESSED HERE AND HEREAFTER,

Friend, the undoing of the Worldling and churchgoers are their lack of knowledge of God.

1 Corinthians 15:34: Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

This then makes them to turned down and despise all the efforts of God to draw them to Himself. Ultimately, because of their lack of knowledge, they failed to know the reality of the end time, that is here with us and the dawning rapture.

So the event shall take place and elude them. This shall not be your own portion in Jesus name,

Proverbs 1:24-31. Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord: They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

Zechariah 7:13. Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the Lord of hosts:

Friend your awareness of the knowledge of God, is the impetus and the driving force behind your pursuit and daily preparedness for the coming of the Lord. The good Lord shall help you and you shall certainly be part of the event in Jesus name.

Psalms 9:10: And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

Acts 17:11: These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Philippians 3:13-14. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Like this beloved apostle be steadfast and keep on in your pursuit, until Christ comes, don’t ever relapse or relent.

Hebrews 3:14: For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
