Matthew 6:1-4...Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets....
Matthew 6:1-4. Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
Beloved, the scriptures gave a peculiar description about God, your loving Father in heaven, that shall make you joyful till you meet Him in heaven. See how the scriptures describe Him.

Jeremiah 17:10: I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

Jeremiah 23:24: Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.

Hebrews 4:13: Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

Your Father sees everything you are doing. Since you have resolved to live a lifestyle to please Him, then you should rejoice, because, He shall reward you for the minutest good deeds you do.

Romans 2:6 -7. Who will render to every man according to his deeds: To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:

Beloved, one great deed you can do to delight your Father is to help the poor, the needy and furtherance of His business on earth. The propagation of the gospel.

Deuteronomy 15:11. For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.

Hebrews 6:10: For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Psalms 37:21: The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.

Psalms 112:9: He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.

Proverbs 19:17: He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

Isaiah 58:7: Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

Beloved, these deeds shall be regarded as righteousnesses, which your Father shall reward you for here and hereafter.

Deuteronomy 6:25. And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the Lord our God, as he hath commanded us.

Proverbs 11:24-25. There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

Isaiah 58:10:-12. And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday: And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

However, when you do your alms, it should not be done for the purpose of self glorification . This is because, it makes the doer an hypocrite and shall not be acceptable. Yours shall be acceptable, so avoid the conduct of hypocrites.

Isaiah 9:17: Therefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one is an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand isstretched out still.

Our Lord also frowns at people glorifying self in their alms giving. Please herd His warning and avoid it.

But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly..

Dearly beloved, our Lord’s earthly ministry was completely devoted to glorify His Father and also live a glorious exemplary lifestyle for His followers to be doing. He never for once sought glory or honour for Himself.

John 8:28-29. Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

John 5:41: I receive not honour from men.

John 7:18: He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

At every point from the outset of His ministry to the end, every good deeds He did, He charged the beneficiaries., not to make it known. See some of them.

Matthew 8:4: And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

Matthew 9:30: And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.

But the Pharisees and the Jews were different. Everything they did, they wanted to make a fair show out of it. The Lord, making use of the word ‘trumpet,’ describes the conduct of those who, in their almsgiving, sought glory from men as ‘sounding a trumpet’ before them.
Pause and examine yourself. Is this your lifestyle? Your repose should be affirmative no. But if it is not, then you need to repent immediately and desist from it.
The consequences are fearsome. To wilfully and continuously attempt to produce a false impression—especially in religion—is, after all, a mark of extreme distance from the truth of a loving God.

John 5:44. How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?

John 12:43: For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

Galatians 6:12: As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.

Remember His eyes sees everything done in the secret and public.

Luke 8:17: For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.

Also He knows the intention behind whatever is done.
Luke 14:14: And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.

Luke 16:15: And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God

Every alms or deeds done to glorify self , make the doer an hypocrite. Don’t ever forget.

Matthew 16:6: ¶Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

Mark 8:15: And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and ofthe leaven of Herod.

Luke 11:35: Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.

Luke 12:1: In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

Matthew 23:5: But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,

No marvel, He strongly counsels His followers of all ages and you too, to beware and don’t be found guilty of this shameful lifestyle. See it.

See how the blessed Holy Spirit affirmed what our Lord had said.

Hebrews 2:1: Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip..

2 John 1:8: Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

Dearly beloved, alms giving to help the poor , God’s ministers or God’s work are commendable and acceptable before God. See how the scriptures affirmed them.

Luke 11:41. But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.

Luke 12:33. Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

John 13:29: For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.

Acts 9:36. Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.

Acts 10:1-4. There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band, A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway. He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius. And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

Acts 10:31: And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

Acts 11:29: Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judæa:

Acts 24:17. Now after many years I came to bring alms to my nation, and offerings.

Romans 12:8: Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

2 Corinthians 9: 6 -7. But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

2 Corinthians 9:9: (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.

Galatians 2:10: Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was forward to do.

Galatians 6:9-10. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Ephesians 4:28: Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

Philippians 4:16-18. For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity. Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.

1 Timothy 6:18: That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

Philemon 1:7: For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.

James 2:15: – 16. If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

1 John 3:17 -19. But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.

So commit yourself determinedly , till Christ comes , to live a lifestyle of benevolence, just for the purpose of helping the poor or furthering the gospel of our Lord, through the assembly you are attending. In due course you shall be rewarded here and hereafter., in Jesus name.

Revelation 22:12. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

JESUS COUNSELLED BELIEVERS OF ALL AGES, ESPECIALLY YOU, TO AVOID SELF GLORIFICATION IN YOUR DEDDS TO OTHERS. DONT EVER FORGET.
Friend,, one of the essence of the rapture or eternity with God is to reward saints and believers. You shall be rewarded in Jesus name.

Matthew 16:27: For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works..

Our Lord delights in alms or any good works done by His faithful followers, for which you are one. These good deeds go along way to determine the eternal well being of believers. Everyone one that are committed to doing these good deeds shall be part of the rapture and even live with God in eternity. See it yourself.

Matthew 25:31-40. When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Matthew 10:42: And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

Galatians 6:9-10. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Believers that fails to do these good deeds shall miss the rapture and denied eternity with God. See it.

Matthew 25:41-45. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

But alms and good deeds done for God’s glory and not self glorification are acceptable and rewardable.

Hebrews 6:10: For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

But when it is for self glorification, it will be rejected and such people shall be damned. Your own giving shall be acceptable and rewardable and be a stepping stone for you to be part of the dawning rapture or eternity with God. So heed the warning of our Lord and do not follow the part of the hypocrites Jews . See what Jesus said and heed the warning. May the Lord finds you faithful in Jesus name.
