And it came to pass in the month Chisleu, in the twentieth year, as I was in Shushan the palace, That Hanani, one of my brethren, came, he and certain men of Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews that had escaped, which were left of the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem. And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire. And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven, And said, I beseech thee, O LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments: – Nehemiah 1:1-5

Beloved, no doubt, all the books in the Bible, from Genesis to Revelations are testimonies about Jesus. No wonder our Lord exhorted everyone and that includes you, to search the scriptures and you shall discover Him.

John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

The book of Nehemiah reveals Jesus, as the rebuilder of our broken relationship with God.

There is a wall of partition between God and the unregenerate. Jesus through His vicarious sacrifice pulled down that wall and rebuild amicable relationship between the erring sinner and the holy God.

Eph 2:12 — Eph 2:16 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:.

The same way our Lord willingly submitted to sacrifice His life to rebuild the broken relationship between God and the sinners, so also Nehemiah relinquished his lucrative job to lead the Jews to rebuild the broken walls of Jerusalem.

Neh 1:1 — Neh 1:5. The words of Nehemiah the son of Hachaliah. Now it is your turn to do same. Become a peace broker between the erring sinners and the holy God.

Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

May the Lord depend on you to reconcile the sinners with Him in Jesus name.

2 Corinthians 5:18-20 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
