Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | June 5, 2020 | Jehosaphat walked with God and the Lord was with me | And the LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto Baalim; – 2 Chronicles 17:3

Beloved, our Lord Jesus Christ, the truth personified and the blessed Holy Spirit, prophesied about things that shall characterise the end time. I am persuaded you are aware that, we are now in the perilous time.

While our Lord said because iniquity shall abound ,the love of many in the church of Christ shall wax cold, the blessed Holy Spirit said, some shall depart from the faith, meaning, they shall no more live by the entirety of the word of God. See what they said.

Matthew 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

The end result of these two prophecies would be, multitude in Christ Church, having a name that, they are living, but are dead. See it.

Revelation 3:1-3 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

Such believers according to the Bible have cast off the thing that is good.

Hosea 8:3 Israel hath cast off the thing that is good: the enemy shall pursue him.

And what they have cast off is their first love for Christ.

Revelation 2:4-5 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Beloved, be very very sincere. Don’t be presumptuous. Examine yourself objectively. Have you in particular not cast off your first love for Christ? If you have not fine, but continue to the end. If you are, repent now.

2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

Beloved another way to describe the first love is called the first ways, meaning departure from old time religion. See what the Bible says.

Jeremiah 6:16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

Again check up sincerely, are you still walking in the old time religion?

Walking in the old time religion is not optional for heaven bound pilgrims like you, it is compulsory.

Only those who are walking in the old time religion shall end up in heaven with God. See how the Bible describe the old time religion.

Jeremiah 7:23 But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.

Mat 7:13 — Mat 7:14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Colossians 2:6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:

1Jo 1:6 — 1Jo 1:7 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Beloved only those who are walking on these ways shall end up with Jesus.. Are you there? If you there, stay there. If not come up, this is because that other way leads to death and it is not for you. It shall never be in Jesus name.

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
