Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | March 3, 2020. Enrich and Sustain your relationship with Jesus reading our daily devotional  Genesis 26:1-6 – And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar. And the Lord appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father; And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.  And Isaac dwelt in Gerar.

Genesis 26:12-14 – Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.

Beloved, Bible days saints either in the old or new testaments were reputed for their prompt and whlolehearted obedience to God.
Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Moses, Joseph the husband of Mary, the mother of Jesus and many others in Bible days, were obedient to God to the letter.
They  pleased God by doing  exactly what He commanded them to do . See what the Bible says about them.
Noah.

Gen 6:22  Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.

Gen 7:5  And Noah did according unto all that the Lord commanded him.

Moses.

Exo 40:16  Thus did Moses: according to all that the Lord commanded him, so did he.

Joseph.

Mat 1:24 — Mat 1:25 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name Jesus.

God honoured these saints and He will honour you too, but then, be obedient to Him, as they did.
Isaac the son of Abraham was not just blessed by God, because he came from the lineage of Abraham.
He was blessed exceedingly, because, he was obedient to God, like Abraham his father. See it.

Gen 26:1 — Gen 26:6  And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham.

Beloved, see his enviable blessings, received from God on account of obedience.

Gen 26:12 — Gen 26:14  Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.

Prior to this time Abraham his father also received sworn blessings from God on account of obedience.

Gen 22:15 — Gen 22:18  And the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

God has not changed, He remained the same.

Malachi 3:6   For I am the Lord, I change not;  therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

Like Issac was the  seed of Abraham, you also through Christ is Abraham’s seed.

Galatians 3:29  And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

God wants to bless you in particular. But then, will you obey Him as Isaac did?  Receive grace to do so and be blessed in Jesus name.

Gal 3:13 — Gal 3:14  Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Beloved, obedience is very important to God and this remains His demand from all believers, especially you.

Jeremiah 7:23  But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.

From the children of Israel after they were delivered from captivity in Egypt, God demanded wholeheartedl and prompt obedience from them.

Exodus 15:26  And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.

Exo 19:5 — Exo 19:6  Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

Deuteronomy 5:29  O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!

Deu 11:26 — Deu 11:28  Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day: And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.

Jeremiah 11:4  Which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: so shall ye be my people, and I will be your God:

The children of of Israel were disinherited, when they chose rebellion or partial obedience to Him.
King Saul was rejected and replaced with David on account of partial obedience.

1Sa 15:22 — 1Sa 15:23  And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord,he hath also rejected thee from being king.

When the nation of Israel rebelled, they were punished and became captive  at  Babylon. See their rebellion and avoid it.

Jeremiah 6:16  Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

Jer 44:16 — Jer 44:17  As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the Lord, we will not hearken unto thee. But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.

See how they suffered for disobedience.

Psa 137:1 — Psa 137:4  By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion. We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.  For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion. How shall we sing the Lord’s song in a strange land?

But then, what Israel was not able to do, our Lord Jesus Christ, became an epitome of biblical obedience for all believers, most especially you.

See His lifestyle of obedience from the outset to the cross.

Matthew 26:39  And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

John 4:34  Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

John 6:38  For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

Jn 8:28 — Jn 8:29  Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

John 9:4   I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

John 17:4  I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

Phi 2:5 — Phi 2:8  Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Heb 5:7 — Heb 5:8  Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

Jesus our Lord did this, because, He knew that God His Father  and your  Father detest sacrifice that lacks obedience.

Psa 40:6 — Psa 40:8  Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.  Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,  I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

Isa 50:5 — Isa 50:6  The Lord God hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.  I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.

Heb 10:7 — Heb 10:9  Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

Beloved, our Lord Jesus Christ has given you an example to follow, if you intend to live with Him in eternity.

1 Peter 2:21  For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

Our Lord  demanded from all His followers and you in particular to be obedient to Him in all things.

Jn 14:21 — Jn 14:22  He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

Jn 14:23 — Jn 14:24  Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.

John 15:10  If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

Heb 5:9  And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

It is on the basis of obedience that the Bible days believers received the Holy Spirit.

Acts 5:32  And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

It is only the obedient that could use the weapon of warfare successfully and subdue the devil

2Co 10:3 — 2Co 10:6  For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

This legacy and exemplary lifestyle of obedience,  Jesus left for you is the singular and primary requisite for you to be part of the dawning rapture.
Your obedience must be prompt and wholehearted. You must be obedient to the entirety of His words.

Psalms 119:60   I made haste, and delayed not  to keep thy commandments.

Rev 3:10 — Rev 3:11  Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

Revelation 22:14  Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Beloved, King Saul was rejected for partial obedience.
Multitude of nominal churchgoers globally shall miss the dawning rapture on the account of partial obedience.
This shall not be your portion, but then are you obedient to Him in all things?  Check up. Be sincere. Don’t be presumptuous.

2 Corinthians 13:5  Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

Don’t forget God will not accept any sacrifice without obedience.

Because you are going to be part of the dawning rapture, heed this admonition of the blessed Holy Spirit.

So keep on rendering prompt and wholehearted obedience to Him, till He appears in the air to take us home.

Jn 14:1 — Jn 14:3  Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
