Afflictions and prayers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
James 5:13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is a sad commentary today, for many so called believers, whenever there is little health challenges, they resort to medication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is nothing in them, that even want to make effort to pray according to this Jesus’s word <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
God’s words in the book of James says, if you are afflicted, pray. If others around you are afflicted pray for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When will you start doing this? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The reason why this becomes difficult for you is because you are not a praying believer and you don’t spend time studying the Bible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Many years ago, a lady in my office had a challenge and went to a particular church for help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Very very unfortunately, the pastor of the church, she went was fetish and wanted to use her. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She discovered after meeting that pastor, it was like,, she wanted to run mad, so she stopped going to the church again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In my office they knew I was a Christian and attending Deeper life Bible Church. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This lady came to me and pleaded with me to take her to my church to see pastor Kumuyi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But then I told her not to worry that I will pray for her and I did. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then God healed her, she was eternally grateful to God and me that prayed for her. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
At another time we came to Gbagada for special service and I saw one of my students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said, He has stopped schooling, because he could not see clearly again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There and then I prayed for him. When I finished praying, I saw something literally came out of his eyes and was coming to mine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I said it can never happen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This young man has finished university now , gotten married and is even a pastor in deeper life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
God wants us to be blessing to everyone around us and so He gave us the promises <\/p>\n\n\n\n

John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But then two things will make this happen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Acts 6:4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1 Samuel 12:23 Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Regular praying and studying the word of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you too will commit yourself to praying and studying the word of God regularly, you will begin to experience the fulfillment of these promises in Jesus name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But then firstly you must be biblically saved and sanctified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our Lord Jesus Christ is the same person that will save and sanctify you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After which you give yourself regularly to praying and studying the word of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Remember the word of Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This morning God will heal you and me use even you to minister healing and deliverance to others around you in Jesus name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let us pray.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
