Daily devotional study 33. John’s gospel. God’s conditional blessing.<\/strong>
<\/em>John\u00a0 5:1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.\u00a0 5:2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.\u00a0 5:3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.\u00a0 5:4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.\u00a0 5:5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.\u00a0 5:6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?\u00a0 5:7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.\u00a0 5:8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.\u00a0 5:9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.\u00a0 5:10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.\u00a0 5:11 He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.\u00a0 5:12 Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?\u00a0 5:13 And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.\u00a0 5:14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Beloved Brethren, our Father in heaven and Jesus Christ His Son are faithful and unchanging.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Numbers\u00a0 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?\u00a0 23:20 Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Deuteronomy\u00a0 7:9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

1 Corinthians\u00a0 1:9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Their blessings in your life are for lifetime and permanent.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Ecclesiastes\u00a0 3:14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Romans\u00a0 11:29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

However, the Bible says you need to know the truth about what will make you enjoy these blessings all the days of your life.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Hosea\u00a0 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

John\u00a0 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

God will sustain His blessings in your life for a lifetime, if you render<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

continual unalloyed obedience to Him in all\u00a0 thing’s and at all times.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

If you do otherwise, He will also withdraw His blessings in your life.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Romans\u00a0 11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Joshua\u00a0 24:20 If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Hosea\u00a0 4:7 As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Hosea\u00a0 8:3 Israel hath cast off the thing that is good: the enemy shall pursue him.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Isaiah\u00a0 3:10 Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.\u00a0 3:11 Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

1 Chronicles\u00a0 28:9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

2 Chronicles\u00a0 15:2 And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Job\u00a0 36:11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.\u00a0 36:12 But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

1 Samuel\u00a0 12:22 For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people.\u00a0 12:24 Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.\u00a0 12:25 But if ye shall still do wickedly, ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

So endeavor to be determinedly obedient to Him till Christ comes and you also will enjoy Him all through your life. It shall be so in Jesus name.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Let us pray.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
