Following Jesus wholeheartedly to be fulfilled on earth according to His perfect willi and live eternally with Him
Matthew 4:19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
It is not an exaggeration, if you will learn of Jesus and follow Him, wholeheartedly, as a sheep following the shepherd and receive eternal life from Hik, you will be fulfilled here according to God’s perfect will and also live eternally with Him.
Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
So how do you follow Him.
1. Leaving all to follow Him .Jesus is worth living the pursuit of transient things and doing His perfect willi.
Luke 5:27 And after these things he went forth, and saw a publican, named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he said unto him, Follow me. 5:28 And he left all, rose up, and followed him.
Colossians 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
2. Following Him and living only for God’s perfect will. Living with eternity in view.
John 6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
3. Following Him, living to please God whatever the cost, whatever the consequences.
John 8:29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
Matthew 10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 10:38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. 10:39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
4. Following Him, in total obedience.
John 14:31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.
John 12:49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. 12:50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
Hebrews 5:7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
5. Following Him, living exemplary Christlike lifestyle to draw multitude to the kingdom.
John 17:19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
6. Following Him, every time and going everywhere
Revelation 14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
Luke 6:22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.
John 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
7 . Following Him and living eternally with Him.
John 12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
Matthew enjoyed all these, living all to follow Jesus.
He became one of the twelve apostles.
Matthew 10:2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; 10:3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;
2. He wrote the gospel according to Matthew.
3. He will sit with Jesus to judge the twelve tribes of Israel.
Matthew 19:27 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore? 19:28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Luke 22:28 Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations. 22:29 And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me; 22:30 That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
4. His name will be among the twelve apostles of Christ written in the twelve foundations of heaven.
Revelation 21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
Heed the call of Jesus to follow Him and He will make you to be fulfilled here according to God’s perfect will and you will also live eternally with Him.
