Turning your breakdown to breakthrough through earnest prayers.

Turning your breakdown to breakthrough through earnest prayer.

James  5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.  5:17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.  5:18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

Saints of all ages and you in particular are exhorted to pray whenever we are confronted with challenges.

Psalms  50:15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

You must not faint, but pray.

Proverbs  24:10 If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

Our Lord said you should pray.

Luke  18:1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

When you pray God answers prayers.

The Bible says:

Isaiah  65:24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

Matthew  7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:  7:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.  7:9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?  7:10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?  7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Many times you must try to join the prayers with fastings.

Mark  9:29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

Mark  11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

John  16:23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.  16:24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Ephesians  6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

1 Thessalonians  5:17 Pray without ceasing.

Listen to saints of old, how they turned their breakdowns to breakthroughs.

Hannah

1 Samuel  1:9 So Hannah rose up after they had eaten in Shiloh, and after they had drunk. Now Eli the priest sat upon a seat by a post of the temple of the LORD.  1:10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore.  1:11 And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.

Jabez

1 Chronicles  4:9 And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.  4:10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

Queen Esther

Esther  4:15 Then Esther bade them return Mordecai this answer,  4:16 Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.

King Jehoshaphat

2 Chronicles  20:1 It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.  20:2 Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazontamar, which is Engedi.  20:3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.  20:4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.  20:5 And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court,  20:6 And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?  20:7 Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?  20:8 And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying,  20:9 If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.  20:10 And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not;  20:11 Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit.  20:12 O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.

King Hezekiah

Isaiah  37:15 And Hezekiah prayed unto the LORD, saying,  37:16 O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, that dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth.  37:17 Incline thine ear, O LORD, and hear; open thine eyes, O LORD, and see: and hear all the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent to reproach the living God.  37:18 Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the nations, and their countries,  37:19 And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.  37:20 Now therefore, O LORD our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the LORD, even thou only.

King Jesus

Luke  22:41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,  22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.  22:43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.  22:44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

But then somethings hinders prayers. Listen to some of them.

Psalms  66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

Proverbs  28:9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

Isaiah  59:1 Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:  59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

John  9:31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

This morning as you pray, God will turn out breakdowns to breakthroughs in Jesus name.

Psalms  34:4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.  34:6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.  34:17 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.  34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

Let us pray.
