The meek are blessed and happy.
The meek meaning:
The mild tempered. Gentle spirit. Meekness and lowliness.
The spirit of meekness is the temper of spirit in which we accept the dealings of God with us as good, and therefore not resisting or disputing with Him.
Meekness is yieldedness to God, submissiveness to His will, preparedness to accept whatever He may give and readiness to take the lowest place.
The meek are the quiet and gentle spirit, unlike the proud self asserting people of the world.
The meek are those who quietly submit to God, to His words and His rod, who follow His directions and comply with His designs and are gentle towards all men.
They can bear provocation without being inflamed by it. Who can be cool when others are hot. Who in their patience keep possession of their souls, when they can scarcely keep possession of anything else.
The meek are those who are humble and submissive before God. They find their refuge in Him and commit their way entirely to Him
They are more concerned about God’s work and His people than what can happen to them personally.
The meek spirit helps us to rightly estimate ourselves and not thinking ourselves more highly than we ought to think.
Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
