Jesus from the books of first, second & third John

The Bible from the first, second and third books of John reveals our Lord JESUS CHRIST as the Only Eternal truth.

1 John 1:6. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

1 John 2:4  He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1 John 2:27.   But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

2 John  1:1 The elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth;  1:2 For the truth’s sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever.

2 John 1:4. I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.

3 John 1:1 The elder unto the wellbeloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth.

3 John 1:3. For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.

1. Christ the eternal truth .

2. Containing the erroneous teachers.

3. Christians’ eternal teachings.

1. Christ the eternal truth .

Beloved Jesus alone is the way, the truth and the life.

John  14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

There are no other ways or other truths.

John  1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.  1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

1 John  5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

Revelation  19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

No other name can save or bless in this life and hereafter.

It is only Jesus.

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Remember, heaven and hell are real.

Two eternal ends await all mankind.

The one singular most important decision you need to  believe and  receive , is this truth about Jesus.

John  14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

As you do His light and life will be yours now and for all eternity.

2. Containing the erroneous teachers.

The beloved apostle wrote the three books to expose, counter  and repudiate doctrinal  and  ethical errors of false teachers.

1 John 4:1.  Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2 John  1:8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.  1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.  1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:  1:11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

It was not only apostle John that stood against  the false teachings  been peddled by false prophets and  teachers  at that time.

Both apostle Peter and Paul did same.

2 Peter  2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.  2:2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.  2:3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

2 Corinthians  11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.  11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

The apostles wrote to warn the brethren not to  fall a prey of these wolves in sheep skin.

Their intention was not  to preach Christ and prepare the flock for eternity with Him, but they are out to make merchandise of God’s People of all generation.

Matthew  7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.  7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Brethren please beware.

3. Christians’ eternal teachings

In Jesus alone our Lord is the eternal truth.

Ephesians 4:21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

The scriptures teaches believers eternal, infallible unchanging unfailing truth.

3 John 1:3. For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth

Jesus Christ  our Lord is the only, unquestionable, unequal eternal truth.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Let us pray.
