Jesus from the book of Thessalonians.

Jesus from Thessalonians

The bible from the first and second books of Thessalonians  reveals our Lord JESUS CHRIST as our Coming Lord or Expecting Lord.

1 Thessalonians  4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.  4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.  4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

John  14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.  14:2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Colossians  3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.  3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

1 Peter 5:4.  And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

1 John  3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.  3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Our Lord JESUS CHRIST is the coming or the expecting Lord.

1. Comfort through the revelation of our coming Lord.

2. Consecration for readiness of of our coming Lord.

3. Consequences for rebelling against our coming Lord

1. Comfort through the revelation of our coming Lord.

The revelation of our coming Lord is the glorious comfort for all saints of all generations.

1 Thessalonians 4:18.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Believers of all ages are always comforted through the revelation of our coming Lord.

This is because our faith in Christ exposes us to many unavoidable persecutions.

John  16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Acts  14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

1 John  3:13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

Revelation  2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

The singular thing that gives comfort to believers of all ages, is the revelation that our Lord is coming to take us home.

The revelation of our coming Lord is in deed the soothing comfort of believers in times of unavoidable persecutions.

2. Consecration for readiness  of our coming Lord.

No doubt the coming of our Lord comforts believers.

So it should always be the all important message, saints of all generations must be constantly reminded of;

This will facilitate or encourage them to adequately prepare for the coming Lord, to avoid not being ready as foolish virgins.

Matthew  25:1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.  25:2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.  25:3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:  25:4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.  25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.  25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.  25:7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.  25:8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.  25:9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.  25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.  25:11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.  25:12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.  25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Hebrews  10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:  10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Every wise saints of all generations must constantly live in readiness to partake in the event.

1 John  3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.  3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Beloved get ready, the coming of our Lord is imminent.

James 5:8.  Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

3. Consequences for rebelling against our coming Lord

Luke  19:13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.  19:14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.

Revelation  17:14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

Dear friend the all important reason while our Lord JESUS CHRIST went through the most cruel and excruciating death is for you to live with Him eternally.

There are two ends that every mankind of every generation will partake in.

Matthew 25:46. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

There is no being created in the image of God, that is destined for either of the two.

It takes individuals choice to  end in either of the two.

Very very unfortunately, multitude inside and outside of the church are trivializing the importance of living in readiness for the imminent coming of our Lord.

They  lived careless lifestyle or even outright rejection of our coming Lord.

John  3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.  3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.  3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.  3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

Jeremiah  6:16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

Jeremiah  44:16 As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto thee.  44:17 But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.

2 Timothy  4:10 For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

The consequences of this lifestyle is catastrophic and will end in eternal pain and torment.

Revelation  14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

Revelation  21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.  21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

But then it could be avoided.

Now is the time to take that most important decision in your life to believe and receive JESUS.

Receive grace now to do it and enter into the joy of our Lord now and hereafter.

Let us pray.
