Leaving all to follow Jesus.

Leaving all to follow Jesus

Mark  10:28 Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.

Luke  5:27 And after these things he went forth, and saw a publican, named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he said unto him, Follow me.  5:28 And he left all, rose up, and followed him.

Whatever is what doing at all, is worth doing well.

Jesus is worth following. To do so, you must abandon all to follow Him.

You can not follow Jesus and follow the world or Mammon at the same time.

Matthew  6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Luke  14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.  14:27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.  14:28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?  14:29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,  14:30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.  14:31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?  14:32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.  14:33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

To follow Jesus, you must leave all to follow Him.

Philippians  3:7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.  3:8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,  3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

When you do this, then you have great rewards here and hereafter.

Matthew  19:27 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?  19:28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.  19:29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

Mark  10:28 Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.  10:29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s,  10:30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

Luke  18:28 Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.  18:29 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God’s sake,  18:30 Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.

John  12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

Be determined today to follow Him and be exceedingly blessed here and hereafter in Jesus name.

Let us pray.
